After purchase, I kept her in Scandinavia, enjoying annual summer cruises to Sweden and Norway. We also participated in the ORC Worlds in Kiel in 2014 - our first big race and we ended in the top third of the fleet, which was much better than we expected. We have absolutely no problem racing against X-37s and similar boats and matching their speed. Following our time in Scandinavia, we moved CHULITA to the Mediterranean where we have enjoyed her since. She has been continually updated and refitted to keep her in fantastic condition and also to make her even better suited to 'off-grid' longer term cruising. The recent addition of solar panels and Lithium service batteries allows us to stay anchored for 5-6 days without needing to generate further power from the engine. MANUFACTURER'S COMMENTS: In 1993 the ultimate racer was born. The X-362 was an exceptionally stiff yacht and appealed to more conservative sailors who demanded high levels of comfort. Based on the success of the original X-362, a Sports version was added in 1998. She had a deeper, lighter keel, fractional rig, enlarged wheel and mahogany interior. In the design process of the X-362, the attention to winning potential was of secondary priority. The first priority was the demand for a timeless, comfortable, safe and easily handled yet perfect sailing 36-footer with adequate room and facility for a "normal family" - but of course by giving her the "standard" X-Yachts attention to smooth and fast sailing, enabling her to also please the performance-orientated sailor. The new Sports design with more sail area made a big enough difference to beat the little sister X-332 which won more regattas than any earlier X-Yachts, including the IMS European Championship - suddenly it was the X-362 Sport which in 1999 was unbeatable, winning in both IMS (European IMS C/R winner) and IRC. 2000 results including UK IRC Nationals, Cord Cork Week - and Frühjahrswoche in Germany. Rossinavi delivers first 43m hybrid-electric catamaran Seawolf X

Rossinavi has delivered its "most innovative project" to date, the 42.8-metre hybrid-electric catamaran named Seawolf X . She has departed the shipyard's facilities in Viareggio, Italy and is now anchored near the Greek island of Tinos according to BOATPro .

Exterior design is by Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design , marking the first project presented by the pair since the 49.1-metre Aurora in 2017. It also marks Rossinavi's first multihull project.

A key characteristic of the model is her three "performance scenarios". On one-day trips, Seawolf X can cruise in full-electric mode for 100 per cent of the time; on multi-day trips, she can cruise for 90 per cent; and on transatlantic trips, she can still cruise in electric mode for 80 per cent of the time. When the catamaran is moored, a "hibernation mode" activates for reduced consumption – with the energy generated able to be given back to the quay or to a private property. She can recharge at the shore in five hours and supplies enough energy to charge up an entire villa.

Rossinavi has also developed an onboard artificial intelligence system, called Rossinavi AI, to analyse the operation of the vessel, predict the needs of guests and communicate with the crew on "lower-impact behaviours" and "conscious cruising". The AI can also monitor the battery pack to keep it in a range of 20 to 80 per cent.

Her exterior is low-profiled and reminiscent of a sports car, with Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design seeking "to liberate their minds from preconceptions" around catamaran design. The team also integrated solar panels into Seawolf X and addressed hull efficiency by developing "lightweight solutions", including an anchor installation that meets weight standards while enhancing aesthetics.

New York-based design firm Meyer Davis have created an interior that "complements the cutting-edge yacht to bring relaxed luxury and sustainable design to its forefront," the shipyard said. The decor takes inspiration from nature, in particular the sun, the sea and sand.

Leisure highlights include a convivial cockpit centred around a pool, an expansive sundeck with sunbathing and living spaces, and a bow area that features a hidden pool and convertible home theatre. Accommodation is for up to 10 guests in four cabins located in the hulls.

"After years of study and construction, it is now a source of satisfaction and pride for us to witness the launch of project Sea Cat, now Seawolf X , the first hybrid-electric multihull vessel," said Federico Rossi, COO of Rossinavi at the time. "This yacht showcases remarkable technological innovations in both power management and propulsion technologies, marking the beginning of a new chapter in next-generation vessels." 

Seawolf X also carries the BlUE label, the shipyard' "sustainable" design philosophy established in 2022. Inspired by phytoplankton, the BlUE fleet absorbs sunlight during the day and utilises photovoltaic technology to convert it into energy. This energy is stored in advanced batteries and released at night, creating a bioluminescent effect "akin to glowing plankton".

The catamaran sits below the 500GT threshold with a beam of 13.8 metres and a maximum draught of two metres.

Vor einer Woche sank die Superyacht „Bayesian“ vor Sizilien binnen Minuten in einem Sturm. Sieben Menschen starben, der Kapitän gehört zu den Überlebenden. Nun verdichten sich Hinweise auf Fehlverhalten von ihm und anderen Besatzungsmitgliedern.

Nun also doch: Gegen den Kapitän der vor der sizilianischen Küste im Sturm gesunkenen Luxusyacht Bayesian hat die Staatsanwaltschaft in Palermo jetzt ein formelles Ermittlungsverfahren wegen fahrlässiger Tötung und Schiffsbruchs eingeleitet, wie italienische Medien am Montag berichteten. Der 51-jährige Neuseeländer wird als sehr erfahrener Skipper beschrieben, der schon seit vielen Jahren Luxusboote führte. Er wurde nun bereits zweimal vernommen, in der Öffentlichkeit ist von ihm nur der eine Satz aus dem Krankenhaus bekannt, wonach er gesagt haben soll: „Wir haben den Sturm nicht kommen sehen.“

Bisher hatten die Ermittler ausdrücklich niemanden konkret ins Visier genommen, der für das aufsehenerregende nächtliche Unglück verantwortlich sein könnte, bei dem die 56 Meter lange Luxusyacht in Ufernähe binnen Minuten im Meer versank. Dabei wurden sieben Menschen mit in die Tiefe gerissen, darunter der britische Multimilliardär und Software-Pionier Mike Lynch und seine 18-jährige Tochter. Ums Leben kamen ferner zwei befreundete Ehepaare und der Schiffskoch; alle Leichen wurden mittlerweile aus dem in 49 Meter Tiefe auf der Seite liegenden Wrack geborgen und kommen nun in die Autopsie.

Unverändert wird darüber gerätselt, wie eine so große Yacht so schnell untergehen konnte. Ein naheliegendes, etwas kleineres Schiff überstand den Sturm unbeschadet und konnte die im Wasser treibenden Überlebenden aufnehmen. Der nächtliche Sturm war seit Tagen erwartet worden, nicht allerdings die Wasserhose oder die Fallböe, die das Schiff um kurz nach vier Uhr am Montagmorgen vor einer Woche traf. Die Herstellerfirma erklärte das Schiff, das mit dem höchsten Aluminiummast der Welt ausgestattet war, schon früh für sicher und schob die Schuld schnell auf die Besatzung. Für diese Theorie häufen sich in der Tat nach vielen Tauchgängen von Spezialisten die Indizien.

Die Rede ist von einer offenen Pforte am Heck des Schiffes, wo die Wasserfahrzeuge an Bord genommen werden. Dahinter liegt der Maschinenraum, zu dem es ebenfalls eine Tür geben soll. Das Schiff ist nach Zeugenaussagen mit dem Heck zuerst und innerhalb von maximal fünf Minuten gesunken. Auch soll der Hubkiel des Segelschiffes, das diesem auf See Stabilität gibt, teilweise eingezogen gewesen sein, wie dies bei der Einfahrt in einen Hafen üblich ist; die Bayesian lag aber 900 Meter vor der Küste.

Die Ermittlungen der Staatsanwaltschaft konzentrieren sich auf die Ereignisse unmittelbar vor dem Sinken des Schiffes, also auf eine Zeitspanne zwischen 3:50 Uhr, als der Sturm anhob, und 4:06 Uhr, als das automatische Sinksignal ertönte. Die Crew hatte anscheinend etwa eine Viertelstunde Zeit, um zu reagieren. Alle Besatzungsmitglieder außer dem Schiffskoch waren an Deck und überlebten, während alle Opfer womöglich noch schlafend in den Kabinen vom Wasser eingeschlossen wurden und dann nicht mehr schnell genug den Weg nach draußen fanden.

Dies gelangen nur Lynchs Frau, der die Yacht gehörte und von der es heißt, sie sei durch die wilden Schiffsbewegungen geweckt worden und an Deck gegangen, um nach dem Rechten zu sehen, sowie einer jungen Mitarbeiterin des Milliardärs samt Ehemann und kleinem Kind.

Mittlerweile gehen Gerüchte um von einer Party am Vorabend bis hin zu einer angeblichen Explosion an Bord und von Geheimdienstaktivitäten. Letztere speisen sich unter anderem daraus, dass die Software, mit der Lynch reich geworden ist, angeblich in den Kriegen in der Ukraine und in Nahost eingesetzt werde. Wahrscheinlicher ist jedenfalls, dass das Schiff von der ungewöhnlich heftigen Böe direkt getroffen wurde und dann extrem schnell Wasser aufnahm. Letzte Gewissheit wird es möglicherweise erst geben, wenn das Schiff gehoben sein wird, was noch Wochen, wenn nicht Monate dauern kann.

This boat has been prepared for a new life and the coming season. The X-Yachts Service department has been taking care of carrying the boat through a refit programme. Apart from that, it is a very well-maintained boat with a stunning gelcoat finish.

The sails are in good shape - main sail and fok are both new.

All in all, it is a great boat which is on display in our showroom in Haderslev.
