Kelowna Yacht Club

Founded in 1945, the Kelowna Yacht Club is located in the heart of Downtown Kelowna. With a new clubhouse built in 2014, the club is situated alongside Okanagan Lake. It is within walking distance from all major tourist attractions including the Delta Grand Hotel and Casino, Prospera Place Arena, the Downtown Boardwalk and many parks and beaches.

• Conference & Meetings

The newly built clubhouse boasts the largest patio in the Okanagan, with stunning lake and mountain views. The Restaurant and Lounge offer an upscale-casual dining experience perfect for celebrating an occasion or enjoying a fireside drink with friends. Five private meeting rooms are available for rent, including a Boardroom and two event spaces with patios overlooking the lake. Guest moorage is available in the Club basin, as well as sailboat, kayak and paddleboard rentals.

• Dress Code No formal dress code applies. Gentlemen patrons of the Members Lounge are not permitted to wear hats while in the Members Lounge.
• Age Restriction Guests under the age of nineteen are welcome to the club, however are not permitted to be in the Members Lounge after 10:00p.m. even when accompanied by an adult.
• Dogs Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not permitted in the Club.
• Smoking The club is non-smoking.

Vibrant Youth Programs for all ages

Rain or shine programs will go forward as scheduled. In the event of certain weather conditions, activities will be adjusted to ensure the safety of all participants and the KYC team. All camps are taught by certified instructors.

Let’s start them young! Let’s start them young! Little ones can begin learning to sail at just 4 years old. We will work with them to be comfortable on the water in a safe and fun environment while allowing them the opportunity to discover a sport that could become a lifelong passion! The kids will learn how to sail and paddle with additional crafts, arts and games. This program is a great option for your kiddos to enjoy on their summer holidays! Book to join the fun all summer-long or just one week. For children ages 4 to 6.

Wet Feet Camp

Ages : 4 – 6 year olds Dates : Monday to Friday Time : Morning Sessions 9:00AM – 12:00PM Price : $160/week

Whether you are new to sailing or are an experienced sailor this is a great week-long program that is customizable to your abilities. Instructors will adapt their coaching to include all skill levels within the class. You’ll enjoy the fun of learning on your own stable 7ft Optimist sailboat. This includes games and activities both on and off the water. Our lessons are designed to maximize fun, safety and technical learning, while also working towards achieving your CANSail Certifications. Some days may include sailing out on a larger keelboat, kayaking, paddle boarding and tubing. For children ages 7 to 11.

CANSail Optimist

Ages:  7 – 11 year olds Dates : Monday to Friday Full-Day Camp:  9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Half-Day Camp: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Price: $450/week for all-day camp or $255/week for half-day afternoon camp

This week-long program is great for avid young sailors or those that have never sailed before. You will learn and advance your skills sailing on a variety of boats. The program includes rigging, terminology, water safety, docking, and even safe capsizing! Our instructors will tailor to your individual experience level and help you work towards your CANSail 1-2-3-4 Sail Canada Certification. Some days may also include other fun activities such as sailing out on a larger keelboat, kayaking, paddle boarding and tubing. For children ages 12 to 18.

CANSail – 1, 2, 3, 4

Ages: 12 – 18 year olds Dates : Monday to Friday Time:  9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Price: $450/week

Want to have a fun day on the water? This camp is for you! We offer a variety of daily activities that may include: kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing, sailing, wakeboarding as well as beach time and games. The kids will be challenged to learn new things and advance their skills, all while growing their confidence on the water. Choose to participate one day or every day: it’s up to you! Be sure to register; this is not a day-of drop-in camp. For children ages 7 to 17.

Summer Day Camp

Ages: 7 – 17 year olds Dates : Monday to Friday Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Price:  $90/day

Ready for a weeklong of fun watersport activities? This camp is for you. Participants will get to try a variety of all the water sports activities we offer. Daily activities may include sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, tubing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, beach time and games. A rounded camp to try it all! For ages 7 to 17.

Watersport Camp

Ages: 7 – 17 year olds Dates : Monday to Friday Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Price:  $525/week

Want to try your hand at wake surfing, wakeboarding, or waterskiing? This camp is tailored for individuals seeking to enhance their wake sport abilities and understanding, aimed at equipping them for general interest, upcoming wake sport events and competitions. Participants can be brand new or come with prior wake sport experience. Alongside refining fundamental skills, the camp will focus on imparting game tactics and strategies, with a strong emphasis on learning in a safe and fun environment.

Wake Sport Camp

Ages : 9 – 17 year-olds Dates: Monday to Friday Time: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM Price:  $650/week

These fun single-day lessons will give you the chance to get out on the water and pursue your interest in wake surfing, wakeboarding, or waterskiing. Or, how about all three! Our Instructor will adapt the lesson to each individual’s skill level and choice of sport. Open for children ages 7 to 17.

Wake Sport Day Camp

Ages : 7 – 17 year-olds Dates: Monday to Friday Time: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM Price:  $160/day

Our experience with our sailing lesson was really great. The instructor was really thorough and patient while teaching, he was full of tips and advice while explaining what we were doing and why. All around, a great experience!

Thank you for making our day on the water wonderful the pontoon boat was great, clean and ready to go with very helpful staff., it was my son max’s first time attending a camp at the kelowna yacht club and we weren’t sure what to expect. max had such a great time and really connected with the instructors. they did a great job of balancing fun, education and safety for the kids. the instructors also made sure to talk to all of the parents at pick-up to let us know what they covered and did each day. max will be back next summer, for at least a week or two, we have truly enjoyed our summer boating experiences and appreciate all the time and energy you all have put into making our experiences wonderful, we will be back next summer for sure, we had the best time today, the instructors are fabulous thank you very much for sharing your expertise., i just wanted to reach out to say how much fun my son had at the camp this week. his coaches did a fantastic job. he was even thrilled the day that they had to play indoors, your team is clearly innovative and able to adapt to whatever the weather (or the pandemic) throws at them. i told him we’d definitely sign up again next summer and he said he’d like to sign up every summer..
