But all this glitz shows how talented the shipyard was in following the owner’s brief. The interior fit and finish, range of materials, and quality levels are all superb. And the one-of-a-kind design is well executed.
A central staircase leads from the beach club to the gold-and-cream main salon where the eye is drawn to a large tropical aquarium that sits atop a tiger-onyx, bioethanol fireplace. The structure divides the lounge from the formal dining table with seating for 12 people. Velvet and animal print-themed loose furniture by Roberto Cavalli fills the interior space, from sofas and armchairs to coffee tables and lamps.
The five-decked yacht is the second hull from Bilgin Yachts ’s 263 series, though it bears little resemblance to its sistership Tatiana . Antalya-based Unique Yacht Design handled the naval architecture and exterior design, while British studio H2 Yacht Design penned the interior.
It employs lots of high-gloss gold paint, polished brass finishes, and 18-carat gold leaf applied by hand by artist Alex Turco. Italian and Turkish marble feature in the two en suites. There are two separate dressing rooms. In the owner’s salon, a large yellow-velvet pleated sofa is twinned with a Boca Do Lobo armchair and coffee table.
Mosaic surfaces, patterned carpets, and mirror-tiled ceilings compete for attention alongside multiple artworks, including handcrafted pieces by Turkish artist Gülay Semercioğlu. At the foot of the bed is a double-sided TV, so that two programs can be watched simultaneously from either the bed or the sofa.
There are a total of 24 TV screens on board—nine of which are mirrored televisions in the guest bathrooms and gym—as well as 12 surround-sound systems. More than 100 iPads remotely operate the entertainment system, lighting, and even the night-vision security camera on the mast that records a 2-mile radius of the yacht.
The sky lounge enjoys a large circular digital ceiling, used to display a cloud-filled sky. It’s echoed in the circular sofas beneath and a small circular games table forward. Large glass wraparound doors open on to a large circular dining table on the aft deck. Cool blue views match the dark blue interior. This level also features the most elaborate day head onboard, dressed in backlit blue agate.
Lighting is a key feature across the yacht. Crystal chandeliers and LED strip lights are found in every room. The central staircase enjoys a quirky “bubble wall” filled with distilled water, which ascends from the main deck to the dedicated owner’s deck.
The cinema is a Moulin Rouge-inspired red-velvet room with two large sofas and a screen, the gym has a leather and mirrored ceiling, a treatment table for sports massage and gold dumbbells. Onyx pillars continue the Grecian theme.
Leona is equipped with MTU 16V4000M73 engines integrated with their own SCR system for reduced NOx emissions. Considering the yacht isn’t available for charter, and the owner hasn’t stepped foot aboard since taking delivery in February, only time will tell if the boat ever really leaves its home port.

Bilgin Yachts Launches Second 80m Bilgin 263 LEONA
By Emily Dawkins
Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts has launched its second Bilgin 263 superyacht. Standing at 80m in length, ‘LEONA’ hit the water at the yard’s outfitting facilities in Istanbul, marking a proud moment for the shipyard as the second completed superyacht from the world-renowned series.
Sporting an eye-catching red hull and gleaming white superstructure, 80m LEONA certainly caught the attention of those watching on at her launch.
With her naval architecture and exteriors designed by Antalya-based Unique Yacht Design, LEONA boasts exclusive and large spaces onboard, characterised by sharp, yet harmonious exterior lines.
Her yet-to-be-revealed interiors have been designed by British design studio H2 Yacht Design: marking yet another collaboration between the shipyard and the studio. Little has currently been revealed about 80m LEONA, however, Bilgin teased that more details of the new launch are due to follow soon.
LEONA follows the first 80m Bilgin 263 superyacht, TATIANA, who, at the time of her launch in February 2020, became the Turkish shipyard’s largest built yacht to date.
Similarly to TATIANA, it is expected that LEONA will also have a commitment to minimising carbon emissions through Bilgin’s innovative exhaust system.
As the second hull launched from the Turkish shipyard’s iconic 263 series, LEONA is another remarkable achievement for Bilgin Yachts. However, the series doesn’t stop there, as Bilgin revealed in 2020 that a third yacht from the same series is also under construction, with her build process now expected to be well underway.
Superyachts.com would like to congratulate Bilgin and all those involved in this spectacular launch, and we are looking forward to keeping our readers updated with the latest details of LEONA, as well as future news from the yard.

Representing the second hull in Turkish yard Bilgin’s 263 series, 80m (263ft) superyacht LEONA has just launched from their outfitting facility in Istanbul . Showcasing a sleek flowing silhouette and striking crimson hull, her exterior design is a collaboration between the shipyard and Antalya-based naval architects Unique Yacht Design, with the esteemed H2 Yacht design responsible for her interiors.
While few details thus far have been revealed, what we do know is that she features an aft deck infinity pool and expansive terraced beach club connected to her main saloon, alongside her other decks that have been optimised for relaxation and entertaining. Emrecan Özgün, the CEO of Unique Yacht Design, teases “both exterior and interior areas of Bilgin 263-II are full of surprises.”
Both exterior and interior areas of Bilgin 263-II are full of surprises
Her interiors are expected to be signature H2 Design, featuring a slew of crowd-pleasing amenities, generous living areas – courtesy of her 12m beam – and high-end luxurious finishes, with floor-to-ceiling windows to maximise natural light and create wide vistas to provide a harmonious balance with her surroundings.
Superyacht LEONA will also provide accommodation for 16 guests across 8 staterooms, including a vast upper deck owner’s suite. She also boasts an impressive top speed of 19 knots, with an equally impressive cruising range of 6,000nm, making her ideal for far-flung oceanic adventures.
Along with her sistership TATIANA , she is the largest yacht built in Turkey to date. She will undertake final outfitting before beginning her series of sea trials later this month and is expected to be delivered to her owner before Christmas. It is not yet known whether motor yacht LEONA will become available for luxury yacht charters .

Sicily yacht sinking: Possibility of manslaughter charges as final body recovered
The Bayesian sank off the coast of Sicily early on Monday morning when the area was hit by violent storms. Seven people, including the British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch, were killed.
Prosecutors in Italy are investigating potential manslaughter charges relating to the sinking of the superyacht Bayesian as a body believed to be Mike Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter, Hannah, was recovered.
The Bayesian sank off the coast of Sicily early on Monday morning when the area was hit by violent storms. Seven people, including the British tech entrepreneur Mr Lynch, were killed.
After five days of searching, the body of Hannah, the sixth and final person missing from the luxury yacht, was recovered on Friday afternoon , according to the Italian coastguard.
The Press Association news agency reported a green body bag was seen being brought to Porticello from the site of the sinking at just before 1pm local time.
The public prosecutor of Termini Imerese is investigating charges of shipwreck, disaster and multiple homicides over the sinking, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.
The specific charge of provoking or causing a shipwreck can carry a prison sentence of up to 12 years.
Mr Lynch, 59, the founder of Autonomy Corporation, had been celebrating his acquittal on fraud charges in the US when the 56-metre sailing boat capsized at about 5am local time on Monday.
Adnkronos also reported that investigators believed that the ship sank bow first, and then slowly capsized onto its right side.
Adnkronos said sources in the authorities involved in the recovery operations said the victims were reportedly found outside their cabins.
“The passengers sought escape routes, reaching the opposite side of the vessel they were in,” Adnkronos reported. “But the water had already reached the cabins and five of them were found in that direction.”
Five of the victims were reportedly found in rooms different from those indicated by survivors.
Searches in Porticello to find Mr Lynch’s daughter — the last person unaccounted for on the boat — resumed on Friday morning. According to sources among the firefighters, the divers had also started inspecting the seabed around the wreck.
Vincenzo Zagarola, of the Italian Coastguard, said the search for Hannah had not been “easy or quick”, comparing the sunken yacht with an “18-storey building full of water”.
Carlo Dall’Oppio, the national head of Italy’s firefighters who arrived in Porticello on Thursday, told the Guardian that the search for Hannah had been “complicated due to furniture obstructing the passage”.
The five others killed in the sinking were the chair of Morgan Stanley International, Jonathan Bloomer, his wife, Judy Bloomer, a lawyer for Clifford Chance, Chris Morvillo, his wife, Neda Morvillo, and the yacht’s chef, Recaldo Thomas.
