Rigging Blocks for Scale Models

Essential rigging pieces to fit out a sailing boat, the blocks exist in a wide range of sizes. More or less sophisticated, with a variable number of sheaves, they are adapted to the different functions associated with the  ropes on the ship. Single or turning blocks, are made of three major elements: 2 cheeks (or flanks) which enclose the block, one or several sheaves.

Manufactured with modern materials, this blocks are maintenance-free, unlike the wooden blocks that fitted the old sailing ships.

New CAP Maquettes manufactures several functional and realistic rigging blocks to fit out your models of sailing yachts. 

Available in diameters of 5, 8, 10 and 15mm, the New CAP Maquettes blocks are made of stainless steel or brass, with nylon or metal sheaves, with or without ball bearing, with swivel or shackle, in single, double or triple version sheaves, with or without a becket or a fiddle.   

They are ideally suited to move your  sailing ships .

High Quality Scale Rigging Blocks for the Ship Model Builder - English Boxwood and Swiss Pear

You will find the usual popular sizes with both single, double and triple sheave rigging blocks.  it will take some time to make these new 3d printed rigging blocks.  they are dyed to simulate the color of english boxwood or swiss pear.  you can use them straight out of the package.   you will not have to paint or color these rigging blocks yourself.  , you would be hard-pressed to tell these blocks were not actually made of boxwood or swiss pear.  they have incredible detail and are printed to the historically correct proportions and shape.  check back often to see what is available., 3d printed fiddle blocks, shoulder blocks, deadeyes, sheet blocks, open and closed hearts and clue blocks are also available., for deadeyes, hearts, fiddle blocks and other specialty blocks   click here .

Our 3D printed Blocks are great right out of the bag.   BUT...if you really want to make them pop...and give them an even richer color and real wood finish...apply a coat of Minwax wipe-on-poly or sanding sealer.   You will truly be amazed at how incredible they look.  Use a satin finish or Matte finish.

	(4 min 6 sec) (1 min 22 sec) A3 winch set up Ready to go sailing Infinity 54 servo arm. Offset keeps the feed angle straight so it does not snag. Canterbury J - Sheets feed directly across the servo spline. US1M Single set up. Sheet feeds up so it can go straight across the spline. Note the aluminum hub with carbon fiber arm bolted to the hub. You can see this in the photo of my CJ (middle photo above) where I have the bitter end of the mainsheet off at about a 30 degree angle and the jib has no angle to its bitter end when the system is close hauled. I do this because the CJ has a full length short keel and will heel quickly in a puff causing increased leeway. I want to be able to dump the pressure on the main quickly to keep the boat upright. The servo is appropriately over-sized to deal with the additional load. OTOH, the Infinity has a remotely adjustable backstay and is a heavy boat with a deep fin and heavy bulb, so any sudden pressure on the main can be eased by tensioning the backstay. The US1M has a deep fin keel with a relatively heavy bulb so is not sensitive enough to puffs that it matters. I have seen some boats that are sailed in venues with a wide range of conditions that have a rack/ hook system placed athwartship so the bitter end can be easily moved to various angles depending upon the conditions. .
