As a family, including our 4 year old Labrador, we recently chartered a 'bareboat' yacht from Hamble Point Charters for 7 days to cruise the Solent. The company were fantastic from our first enquiry to handing back the boat. The yacht was clean and well presented. A great week and we will happily use them again!

We have just had another wonderful week on a yacht we chartered from Hamble Point Yacht Charters. We have sailed several of their boats, this time it was a lovely 35 foot Bavaria. Chartering from HPYC is always an easy choice for us: the boats are well maintained, support is excellent, and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. On top of that, Hamble Point is such an ideal starting location for sailing around the Solent.

This is truly a 5 * service. The team really looked after us both ashore on arrival and also while at sea. We were a relatively inexperienced crew but always felt the team ashore had our backs. Thoroughly recommended.

I just wanted to say Thank-you very much for the weekend charter. It was exactly what we were after (albeit cold!) plus Andy was an awesome teacher and great company. We’ll definitely be keen to book again soon!

We had a fabulous four days. Marina is ideally placed for the Solent, boat was in great condition, well equipped and a joy to sail. We were well briefed and the shore side team including the dog very friendly.

We charted one of the sailing yachts for a fantastic weekend cruise in the Solent. The boat was in superb condition and well equipped, the staff was very helpful explaining how things work on the yacht and there was also a video available with all the important information. 10/10 would recommend!

Had a fantastic week chartering Blue Otter, Alex was incredibly helpful and sent loads of information and date checking prior to booking. There was a handover video and both the handover and return were really smooth. The boat was lovely and well maintained and Lee was really helpful in recommending places to visit (and helping identify the steering issue as an autopilot takeover - doh!). Definitely will be back and would fully recommend!

Just back from a lovely week in the Solent. Great service from HPYC from first inquiry through to return handover. Very straightforward to deal with, and the yacht was in excellent condition. We've chartered from many companies in the UK and abroad and the attention to detail (and flawless inventory!) was second to none. Everything about the yacht and equipment had clearly been well looked after and was in immaculate condition. Great service, will use again.

Hamble Point Yacht Charters supplied us an impeccable 45 ft Hanse yacht, which was handled with complete mastery by Captain Lee.It was a privilege to sail with Lee, who is clearly a highly skilled professional taking great pride in his work ... but who is also a fantastic character with a great sense of humour and plenty of fun stories to keep the whole family entertained. He balances the serious side of safety and learning about sailing with a whopping dose of amusement and good cheer. We sailed the Solent in some decent seas, visited Bucklers Hard on the banks of the Beaulieu River and learned lots about British nautical history. Our boys started somewhat of a fishing trend catching bass off the back of the boat in Portsmouth and we would love to sail with Lee again in the future.The man truly knows his stuff, maintained the boat impeccably and went to every effort to ensure that we had a great time. Many thanks to “Shippers” and Hamble Point Charters. We’ll be back.

If you’re looking for a sailing holiday as a family or group of friends then we can help. The East Coast of England provides some of the best sailing available in the UK, coupled with the kindest that England can offer in the way of weather. Our cruising area is particularly beautiful with saltmarsh and seal colonies to explore, the rolling hills of the rivers Stour and Orwell plus the challenge of the River Deben. There is lots to see and with prices starting at just £45 per person per day for a week’s sailing holiday in August, what could be better? We have two types of vessel available for both bareboat and skippered charter. For smaller groups we have the Beneteau 35 and, for larger groups, we have the well respected Sigma 38 cruiser racer. Located in the picturesque and renowned sailing centre of Burnham on Crouch, we are less than an hour from London’s Liverpool Street Station – there are no travel issues of getting to airports, queuing for passport control, transfers and the like which may be experienced for sailing holidays abroad. You can drive and park without cost in the marina car park and, if coming by train, we will collect you. Your comfortable vessel will be waiting for you with a full fuel tank and basic provisions (unless you give us a shopping list and then Sainsbury will deliver your order to the boat)! All the boats have three sleeping cabins and are coded for 6 or 9 people. Fully equipped for cruising and exceeding the standards normally associated with a charter vessel, these yachts can also take you across the Channel to France or Holland. If you decide to charter, particularly for a foreign trip, we recommend taking out specialist sailing travel insurance such as with Haven Knox Johnson .   . Large superyachts visiting London, England on the river Thames are an exciting spectacle, but also a fantastic base to access events and the central parts of the city, making London a very interesting yacht charter prospect. There are also luxury yacht marinas and berths available with more currently being developed.

On such marina is the historic St Katharine Docks in central London which has berthage for 200 luxury yachts and historic barges. A haven of tranquillity and nestled in the heart of the City of London, St Katharine’s is directly adjacent to the iconic Tower Bridge and next to the Tower of London. The marina is home to visiting and local superyachts and also provides space for private and corporate events amongst the associated commercial buildings.

St Katharine Docks has a thousand years of dramatic history to its name, making it one of the most interesting marina histories in the world.  King Edgar originally gifted 13 acres of land to 13 knights in 1125for trade. St Katharine’s docks have been used ever since throughout the ages for one purpose or another and then in 1825 construction began on the docks, laying down the framework for what you see today.

When visiting the UK with London on the itinerary, yachts also dock in the city of Southampton in south-west England. Many vessels drop anchor at Ocean Village Marina or Hamble Point Marina. Expect a coach or train journey time of around 1 hour 20 minutes from Southampton into South London.

London, the UK’s exciting capital city attracts visitors from around the world. Go shopping in Oxford Street, Regent Street as well as famous department stores like Harrods, Harvey Nichols or Selfridges. How about a night out at the theatre? Watch a play, musical, drama or ballet at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, the London Palladium or the Old Vic. There are many places to visit in London. It’s such a diverse city with some of the world’s best sights, attractions and activities. 

See the city from above on the London Eye, meet a celeb at Madame Tussaud’s or examine the treasures at the British Museum. Sightseeing couldn’t be better. Check out the underwater creatures at Sea Life London or marvel at the strange objects in the Science Museum. There really is something for everyone in London and plenty to do to make up a luxury yacht charter itinerary.

Buy a day ticket for a London, red double-decker bus on-off tour. What a great vantage point to catch fantastic views of the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, St. Paul’s Cathedral and of course, Buckingham Palace. You’ll get a birds-eye view of London Bridge, Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey and the Changing of the Guard. Spend an afternoon at London Zoo, home to more than 16,000 animals like tigers, hippos, and giraffes. 

A little outside London is Kensington Palace, an intriguing Royal Palace that also houses an exhibition of Princess Diana’s dresses. Find out where Queen Victoria lived as a child and see the wonderful collection of paintings from the Royal Collection. To keep you in holiday mode, take a river cruise down the River Thames. Relax and enjoy the magnificent views as you sail past Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Cleopatra’s Needle, The Shard and the London Eye Pier. After so much excitement, it’s back to your superyacht in Southampton for the next part of your voyage.

Each yacht charter is a fully crewed sailboat charter run by its own captain and crew, with everything you need to enjoy a personal, exclusive and luxurious holiday.

We offer exclusive private sailing charters in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, US East Coast and the United Kingdom. It is a great way for friends or family to sail, relax and enjoy unforgettable adventures with family and friends. Our private sailing charters aboard the world’s finest bluewater yachts are like no other.

Each 50 to 130 foot yacht in our yacht charter fleet displays our renowned exquisite craftmanship and seamanlike qualities. Recognised for their quality, safety and performance, they are also prized for the comfort, luxury and privacy they offer.

On deck, there is plenty of space to entertain fore and aft. The swim platform provides a wonderful spot to enjoy watersport toys or sundowners at dusk. All sailing yacht charters within fleet boast large, open dining areas on deck or below, for meals together and memorable alfresco dining under the stars.

Each yacht has its own unique charm, styled and individually equipped. Below decks, the well-designed living space is bright, light and airy thanks to the wraparound saloon windows. Beautifully appointed en-suite cabins feature all the comforts of home.

Virgin Islands

The Virgin Islands are a popular charter destination for people enjoying their first charter and for families. The 50 islands have become one of the most popular sailing grounds, with steady Trade winds, gentle currents and lots of idyllic, sheltered anchorages.

Windward Islands (St Vincent and Grenadines)

Named for its Trade winds and ocean currents, the Windwards were the destination of choice for pirates. It is the ideal cruising ground for chilled charters. With calm seas and consistent winds (10-25 knots) cruising is effortless, with line-of-sight passages that make island hopping a joy.

Leeward Islands (Antigua, St Martins, St Barts)

This chain of islands sits at the meeting point where the north-eastern Caribbean Sea meets the western Atlantic. Created by volcanic activity at the end of the last Ice Age, the arc of islands stretches southwest, offering an eclectic mix of untouched desert islands with some of the most luxurious holiday destinations in the region.

Greek Ionian Islands

Located on the west coast of Greece, the Ionian Islands are known for their stunning white sand beaches and lush greenery. There are six main archipelagos: Corfu, Zakynthos, Paxi (Paxos) in the north and Lefkada, Kefalonia and Ithaki in the south with the most popular being Corfu, Zakynthos and Kefalonia.

Maine, in the USA, is renowned for its dramatic lighthouses, rugged mountains and enchanting sea life, found just 20 miles from the coast. With a coastline just shy of 3,500 miles, there is a lot to discover.

One of the most popular destinations in the western Mediterranean, the Balearics are the perfect yacht charter destination with a choice of unspoiled anchorages and coves, lush landscapes and clear turquoise seas with white sand beaches.

Oyster Charter provides fully crewed luxury charters exclusively on Oyster yachts, the world's finest bluewater sailing boats.

Most charters are for seven days, but shorter charters may be possible on request.

Oyster Charter has been running charters for over 25 years. We will work with you to understand your needs and those of your family and guests, as well as the destinations you are interested in visiting. We know Oyster Yachts inside out and will recommend the right yacht for you. We will also create an itinerary to make sure you get the most from every minute of your charter.

We offer charter yachts in most popular sailing spots, from Italy, Spain and Croatia to the Caribbean and US East Coast. See our Charter destination section for more details.

Yes, all our charters welcome families with children. Some yachts may have an age minimum.

No, the crew are part of the charter. As a result, they know the boat inside out and will make sure all you have a fantastic cruise.

Our charter fleet carry a range of water sports gear and toys, along with TVs, sound systems and wi-fi. Please see individual listings for an overview of available water sports kit and amenities.

The water sports toys are there for your enjoyment as part of the charter. It is not possible to dive from most yachts in the fleet. If you wish to SCUBA dive, your crew will arrange diving excursions with local dive companies.

Yes, Oyster Charter yachts are fully crewed by experienced and qualified sailors. If you have experience, that is great but no experience is necessary.

Once the booking is confirmed, we will provide a charter preference sheet which will include food preferences and any activities you may wish to do during your charter. This will be sent to the crew who will then contact you to understand your requirements, answer all your questions, offer advice to help you make the most of your cruise, and prepare an itinerary and menus.

Yes, most yachts will have satellite phones, but charges apply. Personal mobile phones will work when near shore. Wi-Fi is available on some yachts – please check the individual listings to confirm this is the case on your chosen yacht.

You do not need a license or sailing qualifications - our crews are all fully qualified and responsible for sailing the yachts.

The crew are there to look after you while you are on your charter. As well as sailing, maintaining the yacht and following your itinerary, they will take care of food, refreshments and anything else you require.

The charter fee includes the yacht and crew. Additional costs are for shoreside transport, food and beverages, fuel, bar, dockage, port fees, cruising taxes and communications. VAT is applicable in EU countries. A crew gratuity of 10% to 20% of the charter fee is customary at the end of the charter.

We would collect 25% of the charter fee as an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) to be used towards these expenses. A total summary of expenses will be presented to you by the captain at the end of the charter and any funds remaining would be returned to you.

Contact Oyster Charter and we will help inform the ideal yacht charter based on your requirements. Once the yacht and location have been decided, we will ask you to sign the charter agreement and a 50% deposit will be due. Six weeks prior to the charter the balance payment, VAT and APA will be due. These funds will be held in an escrow account.
