Little harbor community rebrands as southshore yacht club, community grand opening on march 24 will reveal new features, floorplans and amenities, missy hurley , community contributor.

Ruskin, Fla. (March 21, 2018) – The waterfront community of Little Harbor in Ruskin is rebranding as Southshore Yacht Club as it launches Phase II with a grand opening on Saturday, March 24. The development will now be part of WCI Communities, a premier developer and builder of luxury homes in Florida and part of the Lennar family of companies.

Phase I of the community sold out in late 2017, and now work will start on Phase II.

Southshore Yacht Club will reveal new floorplans specially designed for waterfront homes, along with upgraded features including high-end kitchens and new community amenities. The homes in the community will range from the $300s to the $700s.

Visitors can see the new model home and the second phase of the community on a boat tour through the canal or on a golf cart tour during the grand opening event on March 24 from noon to 3 p.m.

The community’s nine new floorplans, some of which are one story, have an open concept to allow for an impressive view of the water starting at the front door. In the second phase, there will be 88 homes on the canal, and 151 in total. Each waterfront home has the option to have a dock and boatlift.

The homes will have modern, upgraded luxury features available to buyers, which include a tankless gas hot water heater, quartz countertops, built-in double oven, gas stove cooktop, and a tile roof.

“We’re enhancing Southshore Yacht Club’s waterfront lifestyle by offering WCI’s higher-end homes and features to homebuyers,” said Mark Metheny, Division President for Lennar Tampa, the parent company of WCI. “We’ve also made changes to our floorplans to appeal to a variety of buyers who want luxury living and a beautiful view.”

A dog park and clubhouse with a resort-style pool are also under construction and scheduled to be complete in July.

Southshore Yacht Club is located at 3023 Christophers Watch Lane in Ruskin, off U.S. 41 and Shell Point Road, near the waterfront Resort & Club at Little Harbor.

About South Shore Yacht Club

We are known to be the “friendliest” Yacht Club in town! SSYC is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Newport Harbor, founded in 1957 and is a full accredited organization with membership in US Sailing, Association of the Orange Coast Yacht Clubs and Southern California Yachting Association, where it is a senior member with special voting rights. With thousands of former members, SSYC members have held and currently hold, key position in Southern California yachting organizations. Historically and today, yacht clubs oversee sailboat races, cruises and boating related education programs. Any organization whose members are associate members of SSYC enjoy the benefits of being a part of a great historical yacht club, a yacht club which maintains senior status among yacht clubs, and a club that enjoys a stellar reputation as one of the State’s premier yacht clubs.

SSYC offers a fantastic children’s Sailing and Boating program through the Newport Sea Base which is located at 1931 West Coast Hwy, just down the street from the club. Since 1937 this non-profit organization relies on the generosity of charitable donations to its ongoing operations. Newport Sea Base has provided fun and valuable education maritime-based programs to all youth. Year-round, girls and boys learn oceanography, marine biology, environmental science, boating safety, dinghy and keelboat sailing, canoeing, kayaking, motor boating and other aquatic-related subjects.
