Explore the Scenic Beaches of Isle du Bois

Isle du Bois is located in the Ray Roberts Lake State Park, which is just a quick one-hour drive north of downtown Dallas. Here families with small children can find some of the best white sandy beaches in all of North Central Texas—200 miles of beach to be exact! Park hours are 6 am to 10 pm, but you’ll want to get to the area early (especially on the weekends) to secure your spot on the beach.

Pro Tips : Anglers interested in wetting their hook should head towards the Greenbelt Corridor area in the southern end of the lake, close by to the Ray Roberts dam that is ideal for fishing. Some of the top target species include largemouth bass, crappie, and white bass.

White Rock Lake is a city-centric lake, allowing for a quick escape to the water while staying close to downtown attractions like the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Only 15 minutes away from downtown, you and your crew can get on a jet boat, pontoon, or cruiser for a brief but memorable boating excursion. Lewisville Lake

Lewisville Lake (29,000 acres) is located northwest of Dallas and is known as the largest lake in North Texas—meaning, you’ll have plenty of room to play! There are numerous parks surrounding this lake, like the LLELA Nature Preserve, Hidden Cove Park, and Greenbelt Park Denton. One of the popular spots at Lewisville Lake is the Party Cove near Westlake Park. This is the place-to-be if you’re looking for a raft-up party; however, be sure to double check with your boat’s owner that they allow raft ups, as it is a skill that requires some previous boating experience. You can also opt for a captained rental, which allows you to sit back and relax, while a trusted professional mans the helm.

Pro Tips : Rent a boat for a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday if you’re interested in the party cove. The lake is at its busiest on the weekends, so keep an eye out for other boats as you cross from one part of the lake to another. This was the highlight of our visit. Birthday celebration for my 38 year old son. Relaxing, watching the sun set with fun music playing. We did the sunset cruise for 1 1/2 hours then have dinner at one of the nice restaurants walking distance from the dock. Just a 30 minute drive from Dallas. Well worth it.

Wow we had a wonderful time aboard the captain and crew were fantastic I would recommend this trip to everyone I know and we will definitely come again this summer so thanks again to harbor Cruise of Rockwall and the captain and crew can't wait to see y'all again.

We had a great time on the cruise. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My grandparents were in town from St. Louis so they loved the smooth ride. We brought wine and a cheese plate and had a wonderful time. The live music was great and entertaining!

We cruised for my birthday on 8/18 and it was the most fun! The staff was so kind and attentive and helpful, the food was tasty, and the BYOB idea is fantastic. It was a combination of relaxing and exciting. And perfect for my party of 12!

This is a must go place in Dallas. Beautiful weather wonderful live music ( I don’t remember his name but he did a wonderful job). Sunset was amazing and it was beautiful view from the cruise. Was asked to help captain the ship, but did not know about the awesome music upstairs until I picked up the musician and guests. I know the guest had to have had a great time because the music was awesome. That along with the beautiful sunset...what an evening ride.

Our captain and his assistant were amazing! This is our 4th time and every time it gets better! Staff is so friendly and make us always feel like part of Sam’s Dock family!

My fiancé and I hosted our engagement party on the Blue Goose Party Boat with a slide via Sam’s Dock at Eagle Point Marina. The boat has a capacity up to 50 people, and it was a ton of fun with a helpful crew!

We booked a party boat for a corporate team-building event and we had a blast! Captain Ben was awesome, very friendly and funny, and kept us safe and informed. The boat was clean and well-kept and Lake Grapevine is absolutely gorgeous! Would definitely recommend!

Omggg 10/10 would highly recommend. What they say “boy we had a time last night”. They captain and co captain was so cool,nice,and respectful. They made sure we enjoyed ourselves and didn’t give us no problems. The 2 ladies that helped me check in was so sweet. I’ll definitely be booking again!

Lake Ray Hubbard is a reservoir located near Dallas, Texas in the counties of Dallas, Kaufman, Collin, and Rockwall. It is built on the East Fork Trinity River and impounded by the Rockwall-Forney Dam. Lake Ray Hubbard measures 22,745 acres with a max depth of 40 feet. The lake offers multiple boat launches, Chandler’s Landing Marina, Captain’s Cove Marina, beaches, and outdoor recreation including camping, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, wildlife watching and more.
