As a fairly experienced boater I was confident that I could manage selling and buying my next boat on my own, however I decided to give Export Yacht a try because the boat was located in the Keys and I just didn't have time to deal with running back and forth dealing with tire kickers. Mike was able to find a cash buyer within a week (which is rare) and quickly resolve the many negotiations that ensued. The biggest surprise came when we were searching for a new boat. I was convinced that I needed a hardcore fishing boat and Mike found us a very lightly used 370 Intrepid set up for fishing and cruising which suited the whole family's needs and turned out to be a smart move. He saved me a huge amount of depreciation. Handled the entire deal through Intrepid to transfer tax savings on the old boat for myself and the seller. Throughout the process Mike was available to deal with the many questions that came up and was a great source of advice based on his many years of experience on the water.

Shipping Methods

Marine Connection offers several different shipping options, depending on where the boat is being shipped to. These options include:

Road Transportation, Truck: For destinations within the continental Americas, including Canada and Mexico, we offer road transportation by truck. All Ocean Freight bound shipments are transported by truck from our facility to their port of origin.

Ocean Freight, Roll-on/Roll-off (RORO): Available for either boats shipped on trailers or cradles to most worldwide destinations.

Ocean Freight, inside Shipping Container: Depending on make and model, many boats can be shipped in standard 40' containers - saving on freight costs to most destinations. Up to 27' foot cabin cruisers and 35' sport boats can be loaded sideways safely on custom built cradles into containers while narrow-beam boats can be loaded straight-on.

Export Process

Consult with one of our experienced Sales Associates to choose the best boat for your needs from our extensive inventory. Upon agreement to purchase, your deposit can be conveniently processed via wire transfer.

Marine Connection will advise and arrange the appropriate and most cost effective method to meet your needs depending on the final destination of the boat (see available options under Shipping Methods).

If the boat is shipped RORO, Marine Connection recommends protecting your investment in transit with a full shrink wrap.

Do you need a trailer? Marine Connection can provide trailers configured to meet the destination country's regulations. If you ultimately plan to purchase a trailer, purchasing it for export will eliminate your cost for a cradle when shipping RORO. Your Sales Associate can provide details on trailers.

Upon preparation of the boat, and arranged shipping, payment in full will be made prior to releasing the boat for transport. Payment may be made via a bank wire transfer.

Shipping times will vary depending on the type of service chosen by the customer and the destination country. Marine Connection can offer services varying in transit time from three to ten weeks.

Upon release for transport all purchase and import documents will be forwarded to you. This includes shipment information to allow you to track your shipment.

Hey Mike, I hope boat sales are brisk for you over there. I checked in with Eddie yesterday to see how he was doing with his 24′ Everglades which was purchased through your brokerage. I know when I talked to him some time ago he was rather upset about the damage that occurred to the boat while it was in your yard awaiting shipping. This was his response to me regarding your handling of the damage/repair to the boat: “The boat was repaired and Mike sent me a check to cover repairs. He is a classy guy to do that and he made sure I got the cushions and console cover and trolling motor.” Mike I nearly cried, as this is not how deals usually turn out. Previous two dealings with brokers over there did not have this happy ending and in fact left a bitter taste in my customers’ mouths. So, you obvsiously had good parenting or something. Let me know if I can do anything for you over here.
