Taylor Swift Crashes Fans’ Wedding With a Surprise Performance and Special Gift

Taylor Swift proved she’s the ultimate maid of honor when she Instagrammed dreamy pictures with her childhood best friend, Britany Maack , but now she’s taken her wedding-guest game to a whole new level, surprising a couple on their big day with a performance and a handmade gift on Saturday night.

The bride and groom, Kenya Smith and Max Singer, were originally married in a ceremony at the hospital where Singer’s late mother was battling terminal cancer. The couple wanted to be sure she would be able to witness the momentous occasion, and Singer even had a mother-and-son dance to Swift’s hit “Blank Space.” In April, Singer’s sister Ali reached out to Swift about performing at her brother’s larger, family nuptials at the Brant Beach Yacht Club in New Jersey—and the rest is history.

Swift surprised the crowd with a stripped-down performance of “Blank Space” and then posed for selfies with guests and photos with the couple. Of course, an Instagram frenzy occurred with not only Swift posting two photos from the nuptials, but the guests sharing videos and pictures with captions like “Remember when Taylor Swift crashed my sister’s wedding” and “So Taylor Swift showed up at my cousin’s wedding . . . #Surprised.” Swift then added one more thoughtful touch by making the couple a watercolor card featuring a wreath of flowers, their names, wedding date, and her lyrics “So it’s gonna be forever.”

A New Jersey couple got a wedding reception crasher Saturday they didn't expect: Taylor Swift.

The superstar surprised newlyweds Kenya Smith and Max Singer by playing a simple version of her song " Blank Space" during their reception at Long Beach Island.

Swift agreed to perform because the groom's mother was ill, according to CBC News. Singer's mother later passed away.

Swift made a surprise appearance at their wedding reception at the Brant Beach Yacht Club Saturday, according to People.com. The performance was arranged by Singer's sister, Ali.

Swift gave a "stripped-down" performance of her hit and gave the couple a special card that said: "So It's Gonna Be Forever," according to People. Singer is a big fan of Swift, and his sister sent a letter to Swift in April.

Ali told Swift how her brother and mother had danced to Swift's hit song after they were wed in a hospital room before Singer's mother died, according to People.com.

Guests used their cell phones and cameras to capture the moment and sang along:

It Was a Love Story, and Taylor Swift Just Said Yes

It was the stuff of a great pop song: On a sunny Saturday afternoon earlier this month, Taylor Swift, one of music’s biggest stars and a notorious romantic, joined an unsuspecting couple’s wedding in Long Beach Island, N.J.

“I apologize for wedding crashing,” Ms. Swift said to the couple, Max Singer and Kenya Smith, and about 100 guests, before sitting down at a piano and performing her hit song “Blank Space.”

Judging by the reaction — shocked gasps, shrieks and one man repeatedly shouting “Oh, my God!” — her unannounced entrance was quickly forgiven.

Though the surprise appearance made headlines and spurred breathless tweets and Instagram posts, Ms. Swift was not the couple’s first choice for guest of honor. That distinction had been reserved for the groom’s mother, Janey Singer, who died in November at 62, two months after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

The groom’s sister, Ali Singer, said in an interview that the couple decided to marry quietly last year, in a hospice care center with Mr. Singer’s mother. There were no rings exchanged and no walk down the aisle, but there was music. The groom and his mother danced to “Blank Space,” one of his favorite songs. The bride’s father and stepmother watched on FaceTime from home in Iowa City. Mr. Singer’s mother died days later.

“Her selflessness,” Ali Singer said of her new sister-in-law, “to take a day where it’s all about you, and drop it all to get married in a room so my mom could be there, was incredible, and really showed their true partnership together.”

It was not the wedding the couple had envisioned, and they wondered if they should keep their original plans for a June wedding as well. Ms. Singer, who works in advertising at Facebook, helped take over the planning from her mother, and said she was inspired by words of support given to Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s chief operating officer, after Ms. Sandberg’s husband died last May.

“Option A is not available,” a friend had said to a grieving Ms. Sandberg , before suggesting she enthusiastically embrace Option B. The couple decided to continue with the June 4 wedding.

The couple’s ceremony was held Saturday at the Brant Beach Yacht Club on Long Beach Island, about two hours south of New York City. The bride, 26, was escorted down the aisle by her father, Brian Smith. The guests dined on a raw bar, ate a surf and turf dinner and enjoyed music from a D.J., who was definitely upstaged.

The plans for the surprise began when a family friend heard that Mr. Singer, 29, had read his graduate school application essay to his mother weeks before she died. An Army captain who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan — and an unapologetic fan of Ms. Swift’s — Mr. Singer decided to break up his essay into themes, each related to song titles from Ms. Swift’s “1989, ” an album about the myriad ways a heart can break.

The family friend asked Mr. Singer for a copy and, unbeknown to anyone, sent a batch of letters to people she hoped could help reach Ms. Swift.

(Mr. Singer’s essay choice paid off: He was accepted to Cornell University, and the newlyweds will soon move from Colorado Springs, to Ithaca, N.Y.)

Ms. Swift, whose career suggests she knows a good love story when she sees one, was a last-minute R.S.V.P., approving the request days before the wedding. But her appearance, which included a handmade picture for the couple, “restored everyone’s faith in humanity,” Ms. Singer said.

In a video of the surprise performance, Ms. Swift, dressed in a strapless dress covered with florals in sunset colors, paused briefly to say that she never thought she’d be singing the song, about many loves gone sour, at a wedding. But, she said, “what Max and Kenya want, they get.”

Despite the attention, the couple have largely shied away from the media attention surrounding Ms. Swift’s visit. In an interview, Mr. Smith, 53, stressed that his daughter, a teacher originally from Sigourney, Iowa, was a private person who “doesn’t want to be bugged” about her wedding, the details of which have been splashed across the internet by relatives, friends and Ms. Swift, who posted pictures of herself with the couple on Instagram.

But Mr. Smith did have this to offer about the love story behind the wedding seen around the world: “The first time she brought him back to Iowa to meet us, we knew right away that this would be the one.”

Newly Single Taylor Swift Surprises Deserving Couple by Attending (and Performing at) Their Wedding

Taylor Swift is making fans wildest dreams come true once again.

The newly single "Shake It Off" singer decided to pay it forward this Saturday when she made a surprise trip to a couple's wedding. Hey Max Singer and Kenya Smith , someone special is here to celebrate your big day.

In several photos posted onto social media, Swifties learned that the singer attended a ceremony at the Brant Beach Yacht Club in New Jersey where she not only posed for photos with the bride and groom. She also performed "Blank Space" on the piano.

"Congratulations Max and Kenya!!" Taylor wrote on Instagram while wearing a Rubin Singer cocktail dress. "Third wheel."

For an added surprise, fans later spotted Calvin Harris liking the photo on Instagram.

As for the actual wedding ceremony, family and friends were more than delighted to have the Grammy winner and her parents stop by. From siblings to cousins, many guests couldn't help but capture their enthusiasm on social media.

"So Taylor swift showed up to my cousins wedding... #Surprised," a family member shared on Twitter with video of the performance.

Another guest added , "REMEMBER WHEN TAYLOR SWIFT CRASHED MY SISTER'S WEDDING." And yes, all caps were absolutely necessary.

According to People , Taylor helped pull off the surprise with help from the groom's sister. Back in April, Ali Singer reached out and opened up about the loss of a family member.

Before his wedding this weekend, Max wed his wife in the hospital so his mom wouldn't miss out on one of the biggest days of her son's life. The mother-son duo even danced to "Blank Space" on the special celebration.

The performance at Max Singer and Kenya Smith's reception was arranged by Singer's sister, Ali, according to an article on People.com.

The story said Swift gave a "stripped down" performance of her hit "Blank Space," and gave them a special card that said, "So It's Gonna Be Forever."

According to the story, Singer is a big fan of Swift and his sister sent a letter to Swift in April.

Singer's sister and Swift planned the 26-year-old pop star's surprise visit to the couple's reception at the Jersey Shore.

This past Saturday, Taylor Swift made a surprise trip to Brant Beach Yacht Club in Brant Beach, N.J. to celebrate the marriage of one lucky bride and groom, Kenya Smith and Max Singer – who are huge Swift fans.

The “Shake It Off” singer was able to accomplish the mega surprise with the help from the groom’s sister, Ali Singer.

“As it was happening, I just looked at [Ali] and she had that smile like she knew what was going on,” Max told Access Hollywood . “And I clearly didn’t, so I knew she had something to do with it.”

Back in April, Ali wrote a letter to Swift, explaining how her brother, Max wed his wife, Kenya, in the hospital so that their mother would not miss her son’s wedding before she passed away. Swift’s “Blank Space” was the mother and son’s first dance song.

Swift performed her 2014 hit, “Blank Space”, on piano during the reception and took photos with the newlywed and guests. “Congratulations Max and Kenya!!” Taylor wrote on Instagram. “Third wheel.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Spotted Strolling Hand-in-Hand During Romantic Bahamas Vacation: PHOTOS

Taylor Swift  and  Travis Kelce enjoyed a sunny stroll together on their recent Bahamas vacation.

The couple, both 34, were snapped walking hand-in-hand during their recent Caribbean getaway. Swift sported a casual look of white shorts, a cropped tank, and woven slides, topped off with sunglasses and a baseball cap.

Kelce wore his swimwear on the outing, donning patterned blue trunks, a white t-shirt. and brown leather loafers.

PEOPLE previously confirmed that the pop superstar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end had jetted off on the Bahamian vacation in between international legs of Swift's epic Eras Tour.

“They vacationed in the Bahamas for several days," a source told PEOPLE of the trip on Monday. "It was a much-needed break for both of them. They very much enjoyed it. They are so happy together.”

The couple's vacation comes after the pair spent time traveling the world together as Swift continues her  Eras Tour . Recently, they've been spending quality time together in between the pop superstar's shows in  Australia  and  Singapore  in February and March.

The pair have since returned to the States and were spotted enjoying a lunch date at Nobu in Malibu. They were pictured leaving the eatery holding hands while sporting casual looks for their date. In footage posted on social media, the pair were also seen chatting during their date as they sat at a table to enjoy some al fresco dining.

Kelce was also spotted  visiting his hometown of Cleveland . Along with stopping by one of his favorite restaurants for a slice of pizza, the Super Bowl champ also made time to  pose for photos with some fans of his girlfriend .

Swift's time for relaxation will likely be short-lived. She's fast approaching the April 19 release of her 11th studio album,  The Tortured Poets Department . Then, the European leg of her Eras Tour kicks off with four concerts at the Paris La Défense Arena in France from May 9-12.

Then starting in June the superstar heads to the U.K. before wrapping up the summer with shows in Poland and Austria.

Police are currently investigating Swift's dad, who is accused of assaulting a paparazzo after they got off the yacht at Neutral Bay Wharf about 2.30am.

It's believed Swift hired the yacht to go for a cruise to celebrate the completion of her seven sold-out Australian shows.

The 120-foot Quantum boat built by Warren Yachts costs just under $3000 an hour to hire.

While the choice of boat may seem expensive, the superstar needs to travel by private boats and planes for the safety of her and everyone around her.

The boat has capacity for up to 45 guests, depending on how it is to be used.

Eight people can sleep overnight in its four cabins.

The yacht costs $22,000 to hire for 24 hours or $75,000 for Sydney's New Year's Eve.

The yacht has three levels including an entertainment deck and comes with kayaks and stand up paddle boards.

It includes a king-size master cabin, a VIP queen cabin and two guest doubles, all with ensuites.

It can be hired to cruise the harbour and explore Pittwater in Sydney's north or it can be chartered to Hamilton Island or the Whitsundays.

The yacht also has a hydraulic lowering swimming platform for guests to swim from.

The hire price includes a full professional crew to assist guests on the voyage.
