Offering gastronomic delights, iconic nightlife, and designer boutiques, a yacht charter in Monaco is a mecca of luxury. The best things to see and do in Monaco
Despite its compact size, Monaco is a luxury destination with a superb selection of things to see and do.
Even if you don’t want a flutter, the famed Monte-Carlo Casino is well worth visiting, located in the Golden Square, Monaco’s most exclusive address. Order a martini at the bar and admire the Belle Epoque building, designed by Charles Garnier and Jules Dutrou, with its many chandeliers and frescoes. Next door, the gilded Hôtel de Paris houses Alain Ducasse’s Michelin-starred Le Louis XV. Alternatively, the late Joël Robuchon’s eponymous restaurant is just a short stroll away at the equally elegant Hôtel Métropole.
This city is also well known for partying, whether aboard your superyacht or in the town at venues such as Sass Cafe, Twiga, or Jimmy’z nightclub.
For those who love to shop, Monaco is a dream with its collection of designer boutiques housed along with Monaco’s Avenue de Monte-Carlo, Avenue des Beaux-Arts, and the Allées Lumières center. From Piaget to YSL and all the other LVMH brands, among many others, there is no bona fide international designer without a boutique in the principality.
For those looking for a bit of pampering while on a Monaco superyacht charter, two spas rule the well-being scene in Monte Carlo: The Spa Metropole by Givenchy at the Metropole Monte Carlo and the Thérmes Marins Monte Carlo, which boasts a vast menu of thalassotherapy experiences.
For those wanting to stretch their sea legs, Monaco has something to offer all fitness capabilities. Wander the old town’s narrow streets in Monaco-Ville and visit the Prince’s Palace and Saint Nicholas Cathedral. If you are a fan of Grace Kelly, head to the rose garden in Fontvieille Park, built in her memory. For additional space in Monaco, check out the Jardin Exotique de Monaco and the Japanese Gardens.
Golf enthusiasts are in for a treat as well, with the Golf Club de Monte Carlo and the Monte Carlo Country Club. Both offer excellent courses with panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea.

Noted mostly for its famous Formula 1 Grand Prix race which takes place in May each year, Monaco is also a superyacht hotspot and luxury yacht charter groups arrive in Port Hercules marina to the glitter of city lights. With its twisting streets, amazing restaurants, fabulous shopping opportunities and party atmosphere, Monaco should definitely be put on your yacht charter bucket list.
Port Hercules is well sought after as a place to berth, especially throughout the more popular months of the year. There are plenty of facilities here such as electricity, fuel and fresh water. What’s more there are also 30 berths for superyachts of 25m-30m and 20 berths for 30m yachts and over.
Whether you’re on a yacht charter vacation or visiting, the principality of Monaco is the place to see and be seen. The Monaco yachting season finishes in September with the Monaco Yacht Show, a prestigious event showcasing the latest superyacht concepts and launches – an opportunity not to be missed.
The best time to visit Monaco on a luxury yacht is from May to September. July and August are very busy months packed with local events at the height of the summer weather, while May and September play host to the motor race of the year as well as the yacht show. Both of these highlights attract thousands of people, so reserve a superyacht sooner rather than later so you don’t miss out on the delights of Monaco.
It’s worth leaving your yacht to taste the fine dining in some of Monaco’s best restaurants, such as the Louis XV restaurant at the Hotel de Paris. This is one of the grandest restaurants in Monaco which has been awarded three Michelin stars.
A less formal restaurant can be found at the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel, where guests can savour mouth-watering sea food while absorbing the spectacular views. As an alternative venue, Le Vistamar at the Hermitage Hotel overlooks the harbour for anther stunning view while dining alfresco from the gorgeous terrace.
For shopaholics, there are no shortages of shopping opportunities here. With its glamour and wealth, Monaco has the major fashion labels and high-end luxury goods. In the Metropole and Fontvieille shopping centres, there’s a huge variety of stores to choose from to shop till you drop. Jewellery shops stock famous brands like Bulgari, Piaget, Van Cleef and Cartier, so head for the Place du Casino for a day of indulgence.
When it comes to partying, Monaco just can’t be beaten. It’s a top Mediterranean destination for party lovers with most of the action taking place on the yachts anchored in Port Hercules. Over the Grand Prix weekend, Jimmy’z nightclub is a wonderful place where many of the rich and famous head to.
With so many places in Monaco to see, make sure to arrange your itinerary to take in Monte Carlo Casino and the Opera House. The Prince’s Palace and the Oceanographic Museum are two other popular attractions. Fort Antoine is an early XVIII century fortress which is now used as an outdoor theatre. Seating up to 350 people it’s a sight out of the ordinary. The Jardin Exotique is another destination worth visiting:, set on a steep cliff with lush, green gardens and a backdrop of the beautiful blue Mediterranean Sea.
What to wear in Monaco largely depends on where you go. While swimwear is acceptable on board your superyacht or at the beach, once you leave your yacht it’s good etiquette to dress elegantly or smart-casual. One of the most exciting things in Monaco is to see how people dress when out socialising. It’s often like a fashion parade wherever you go, so put your best clothes on and join the party.
The traffic can be very congested during the hot, summer months so be prepared for traffic: If you were considering driving, getting around in Monaco is easier by taxi. Lots of people use Monaco’s heliports plus there’s a useful shuttle service between Nice Airport and Monaco itself.
Monaco is an important part of any French Riviera, yacht charter vacation on either a sailing or power boat. Despite the trend toward materialism, this tiny principality is steeped in history and natural beauty. Explore the old medieval town home to the Prince's Palace and the Oceanographic Museum; stroll through the exotic botanical gardens; take a swim in the heated saltwater pools or do a workout in the sport complex attached to the yachting harbour. Everything you need is in close proximity to where the charter yachts are moored as the principality is merely one square mile in total size.
Indulge in a bowl of the famous Soup de Poisson, at one of the lovely wharf side restaurants. Better still, step aboard your charter yacht and enjoy a glass of crisp, cold French Chablis, as you watch the glamorous world go by. From Monaco, head west along the French Riviera toward Villefranche or St Jean Cap Ferrat , followed by Nice , Antibes , Cannes , St Tropez and then on to the Iles d'Hyeres where you'll find some quaint and scenic anchorages, small villages, and authentic French restaurants. Believe it or not, they do still exist! Monaco is also a great northern point to begin a yacht charter vacation down the spectacular Italian Riviera .
Another event of interest in Monaco is the Monaco Yacht Show which is held annually in September at Port Hercules. The show brings together professionals from the international luxury yachting sector including luxury yacht builders, brokers, designers, equipment suppliers, and service providers to show off the latest and greatest luxury yachts for sale in Monaco. The Show is the only one worldwide which is exclusively devoted to superyachts for sale and is the largest floating luxury yacht display in Europe of super and mega yachts.
As one of the most famous yacht charter grounds in the Mediterranean, Monaco and the French Riviera have all types of yacht charter available including motor, sailing, crewed yachts, catamaran, luxury yachts and of-course the ever increasing super yacht charter. The emphasis in Monaco is on larger private luxury yacht charters.
Like most of the Mediterranean, the Monaco and French Riviera yacht chartering season generally runs from April to the end of October. The summer season in July and August is the hottest and tends to have the lightest winds. This is also the high season as far as yacht charter goes. Other good times to charter your yacht is generally on either of the shoulder seasons (April-May and September-October), each side of the main summer season, as the temperatures are still comfortable, and the onshore tourists have yet to arrive in their largest numbers.
Top 10 reasons to Charter a Superyacht In Monaco
In addition to what has already been mentioned above about yachting in the Principality, here is a list of reasons what you should consider putting Monaco on your Mediterranean charter itinerary.
1. When it comes to a charter yacht holiday Monaco ticks most of the right boxes. Located on the French Riviera in Western Europe, it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and borders Italy and France and is only around eight miles north east of Nice and a little further from Antibes, Cannes and St Tropez.
2. Spend a few days in Monaco and go high-end shopping. There's a fantastic selection of exclusive boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Hermes and Yves Saint Laurent, what a selection for the world's second smallest country. Also the restaurants, nightlife and beach clubs are well known in the area.
3. Head for one of Monaco's two famous ports, Port Hercule and Port of Fontvieille to drop anchor. Some of the world's most expensive superyachts can be seen here, sometimes with celebrities onboard. To give you an idea of the size Monaco's ports are, despite the Principality’s extremely modest size, there's enough mooring and anchoring space for up to five hundred vessels.
4. On your Monaco charter itinerary don't forget to include the Monaco Grand Prix. It's one of the most famous car races in the world taking place every year in May, an event not to be missed. Imagine combining the Monaco Grand Prix with a superyacht charter vacation – wow!
5. The beautiful French Riviera sovereign state of Monaco also has a glorious beach, Larvotto Beach. During your time here chill out, top up your tan and go for a swim in the Med. Have a drink and a meal at one of the beach bars while watching the world go by.
6. Each year the French Riviera and Monaco in particular host around 50% of the world's superyacht fleet. It's a major tourist attraction with an unrivalled coastline, a beautiful town with stunning views across the Med. Monaco is also home to the House of the Grimaldi family, see if you can spot one of the Royals on your visit.
7. The Monaco Yacht Show is one of the most prestigious events of the year. Held annually towards the end of September it's the place to be to enjoy an exciting exhibition of superyacht charter vessels, high-tech nautical products and even complimentary boat shuttle services.
8. Why not arrange for your motor yacht to sail to the different anchorages around Monaco so you can enjoy your superyacht charter's inflatable water toys? There's something for everyone from jet skis to sea bobs, inflatable tubes, scuba diving and snorkeling equipment. After a fun day of activity out in the Med, an onboard chef will prepare a sumptuous evening meal.
9. Make sure your vacation includes a visit to one of Monaco's five casinos. The world famous Casino de Monte-Carlo is the place to be seen. There's a wide range of table games like Roulette, Black Jack, Chemin de Fer and Punto Banco. Try your luck, you never know you might be a winner.
10. For comfort and pleasure you can't beat staying on board a yacht to combine elegance, sophistication and the freedom to dock in amazing locations like Monaco. On board you can expect a five star personalized service, superior facilities and amenities as well as splendid cabins for the ultimate in relaxation.

The cruise was fantastic and the "Impulse" is a truly comfortable and luxurious yacht and we all enjoyed our team there very much. Everything was perfectly prepared when we arrived and the crew was amazing --- Jolande is a fantastic and creative chef who created the most delicious food always wonderfully presented (I very much enjoyed joining her early morning in St. Tropez on her shopping tour to the fish market and other lovely butchers, bakeries and cheese shop where we found the most delicious ingredients for her magical cooking), Bernadette took care of us in the most friendly and attentive way and last but not least Tim, a very helpful and insightful skipper who showed us the most beautiful places. The "Impulse" is a wonderful yacht but the crew made us feel right away at "home" amongst friends. To make a long story short, the cruise was a wonderful and most enjoyable experience and I'm sure it was not the last time I spend time on the "Impulse". The must-see sailing yachts at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024
As the excitement for the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 builds, BOAT takes a look at the top sailing yachts that will be making an appearance this year – from the latest launches to the finest yachts currently for sale .
Norfolk Star
Builder: Perini Navi Year: 1996 (2020) Length: 37m
Pedigree sailing yacht Norfolk Star was designed and built by the Italian shipyard in 1996 and had a "multi-million euro refit" in 2022, according to her broker. The revamp included a new main engine room, two new generators, PLC system, Inmarsat VSAT dome, 505 Williams tender, Doyle sails and Reckmann rigging. With accommodation for six guests, the yacht boasts a family-friendly layout comprising a full-beam master cabin on the lower deck along with two twin cabins – with the option of an additional pullman berth.
On deck, guests can benefit from the comfort the split cockpit area affords, where relaxed seating around a circular coffee table awaits as well as a dining area for eight. The cherry wood interior also welcomes a bright upper saloon with panoramic views and a more formal main saloon with two sofas and dining area featuring an extendable walnut table.
Norfolk Star is listed for sale and will be exhibited by Burgess and Northrop & Johnson.
Builder: Wally Year: 2024 Length: 36.2m
Having hit the water in June this year, the first wallywind110, Galma , will make her global debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show and is recognisable by her "luminous light metallic blue" carbon hull paint job "that changes slightly as the light hits her". The sailing yacht's naval architecture comes from German studio judel/vrolijk & co , while interior and exterior lines are designed by Wally in collaboration with Santa Maria Magnolfi . The design demonstrates the comfort of a cruising yacht while maintaining the spirit and performance of a racing boat, and is characterised by her 6.9-metre telescopic keel.
Highlights include an 80-square-metre full-beam cockpit with seating and dining for up to 15 people, as well as an open-plan raised saloon. The yacht also benefits from natural light thanks to a skylight that runs the full length of the coachroof. Accommodation on the wallywind100 model can be a three-cabin layout with a full-beam master suite, or a four-cabin standard layout.
Galma will be exhibited by Wally .
Builder: Vitters Year: 2017 Length: 32.6m
Delivered in 2017 to experienced sailing yacht owners, Ribelle has recently joined the market following a refit, which included a repaint of the hull, mast and boom, and a brand new suit of cruising sails. The sailing yacht is built of carbon fibre by the Dutch yard to a design by Malcolm McKeon and can be sailing with a small crew in cruising mode or, thanks to a self-tacking jib, can be transformed into a true racer.
She is a regatta regular and can often be spotted at some of the world's most prestigious events – including the Maxi Rolex Cup, Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, Les Voiles de St Tropez and Palma Superyacht Cup. Her Rémi Tessier interior accommodates six guests in three cabins comprising a master suite, VIP suite and a twin cabin.
Ribelle is listed for sale and will be exhibited by Burgess.
Dreamcatcher
Builder: Nautor Swan Year: 2024 Length: 28.8m
With her diesel-electric propulsion, the Swan 88 is the Finnish shipyard's first hybrid sailing yacht and is based on an evolution of its previous yachts. Sitting at the entry point to the world of maxi yachting, the yacht was delivered earlier this year and will make her worldwide debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival .
Dreamcatcher has been described as a "no-compromise cruiser with a racer soul" with a draught of four metres, with options for a shallow-draught, telescopic and performance keel. The yacht is also designed for comfort with a maximum heeling angle of 20 degrees and sports "feminine exterior lines" penned by veteran Swan designer German Frers . Her warm, classic interiors have been styled by Misa Poggi with accommodation for 10 guests.
Dreamcatcher will be exhibited by Nautor Swan .
Builder: Baltic Yachts Year: 2018 Length: 26m
Delivered by the Finnish shipyard in 2018, Mini Y is a Baltic 85 model designed by UK naval architect Dixon Yacht Design . Her silver hull and superstructure were built of carbon-fibre composite and the owner opted for a telescopic lifting keel that can reduce the draft from 4.3 metres to 2.95 metres when required. Mark Whiteley Design handled the yacht's interior décor , with accommodation for up to four guests split between an owner’s cabin and a guest cabin.
On deck, the cockpit has a fold-out table for guests to enjoy, while the helmsman has the choice of two wheels. The guest cockpit can be completely covered for protection while racing, the navigation instruments still visible on the aft face. Mini Y joined the market earlier this year.
Mini Y is listed for sale and will be exhibited by Baltic Yachts and Edmiston.
Builder: Yonca Year: 2019 (2023) Length: 26.8m
Tuzla-based shipyard Yonca officially entered the leisure marine market with the launch of Mishi Yachts earlier this year. The new brand made its debut with two sailing models, measuring 26.8 metres and 31 metres – the first of which is the Mishi 88, which will be on exhibit at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Osman Tanju Kalaycıoğlu , Özgür Terzioğlu and Taka Yacht are responsible for the naval architectecture and exterior design, while interiors are the work of Aylin Örs .
The sloop's defining features include a spacious aft deck with a dining space which can comfortably seat ten guests. Offering shelter from the elements, the large cockpit features a carbon composite hard-top aft, while the swim platform has enough room in its back for a 3.5-meter inflatable tender. Accommodation is for six guests across a master cabin and two guest cabins, with further space for the captain and crew.
Mishi 88 will be exhibited by Mishi Yachts.
Builder: Yyachts Year: 2024 Length: 23.9m
German yachtbuilder YYachts is bringing its Y8 model to the Monaco Yacht Show. Javier Jaudenes of Surge-Projects worked alongside the in-house design team on naval architecture to create the model's new silhouette with a Scandi-inspired interior by Danish designer David Thulstrup. YYachts offers four pre-designed interior styles where owners can tailor the saloon area to their tastes.
A particular highlight is the owner's suite, which includes a separate saloon and can be located either in the bow or in the stern with direct access to the cockpit. In terms of technical details, the Y8 features a standard carbon mast, hydraulic main sheet system and all winches close to the helm stations. These features, along with the self-tacking jib and a lack of a backstay, enhance the yacht's performance and ease of handling.
Y8 will be exhibited by Yyachts.

Running from 28 September to 1 October, the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 will be attracting a fleet of superyachts and thousands of attendees to the Côte d'Azur for the 31st edition of the prestigious boat show.
For four days, Port Hercules will be a hive of activity as thousands of prospective clients and industry players descend on the French Riviera to explore what’s on display on the water and along the stands. Hundreds of exhibitors will be showing off their products and services, with top shipyards , brokerage houses and marine and luxury lifestyle stalls in attendance, along with brand-new areas being unveiled at this year's show.
What’s in store at this year’s show?
This year the show will unveil its brand-new Adventure Area and Sustainability Hub, alongside its popular Design & Innovation Hub and dockside areas committed to the exhibition of superyachts and tenders.
Sustainability Hub
With a renewed focus on sustainability and environmental protection initiatives, the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 will be unveiling its brand new exhibition space dedicated to the research and development of sustainable solutions in yachting.
The Sustainability Hub will also host a variety of exhibitions relating to green renewable solutions and pro-environmental projects in yachting.
Yacht Design and Innovation Hub
Complementing the Sustainability Area will be the popular Yacht Design and Innovation Hub, where the world’s most renowned yacht designers convene to showcase their latest projects, with various presentations on design and eco-responsible projects in yachting taking place in a conference room upstairs (free access). This year, the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub also welcomes the historic exhibitors of the Designer Gallery along the Louis Chiron bend of Port Hercules.
Adventure Area
Another new zone for 2022, visitors to the Adventure Area will find a huge array of tenders, all-terrain vehicles, nautical gadgets and equipment. These will be showcased in conjunction with a wide range of activities and services targeting the up-coming generation of superyacht clientele in response to the increase in demand by discerning yacht travellers seeking ever-more thrilling adventures and unique yachting experiences.
Dockside Area
The new Adventure Area will be located within the Dockside Area, home to the afloat exhibition of motor yachts and tenders on the Quai Antoine 1er, Port Hercule.
Please note that the Dockside area is only accessible to Discover, Sapphire and press passes on Wednesday September 28, with access to the general public from Thursday onwards.
Sailing Yacht Area
As in previous years, this area will be situated along the Quai l’Hirondelle, where visitors will be able to step aboard some of the most innovative and technologically advanced sailing yachts in the world, as well as meeting some of the esteemed builders and designers who help to create the magic.
Sapphire Experience
Introduced for the first time last year, the Sapphire Experience is a bespoke tour program for visitors interested in renting or buying a yacht, with a concierge team dedicated to creating a bespoke program of events tailored to take advantage of all there is to experience at the show in true VIP fashion; including scheduled visits on board yachts, attendance at gala evenings or private cocktails on board various luxury vessels. There is also an official Sapphire tender and courtesy car service.
In addition, there are dedicated VIP entrances and lounges for convenience and relaxation throughout the show.
How to get around the Monaco Yacht Show 2022
The show takes place entirely in Port Hercules, but there will also be a number of yachts available for viewing at anchor outside the port. A water taxi is available throughout the show, with seven pick-up and drop-off points conveniently located across the marina.
The official opening times for the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show are: 10.30am-6.30pm every day, except on Saturday when the doors open at 10am and close at 6pm.
What is the official MYS 2022 superyacht lineup?
Currently, with over 130 yachts set to attend this year’s show, including 74 yachts making their debuts in Monaco, the show promises plenty of standout vessels available to view.
One of the most exciting new yachts will be Lurssen’s 115m/378ft motor yacht AHPO . A recent addition to the charter fleet, she will be drawing in plenty of attention with her Nuvolari Lenard exterior styling and palatial interiors.
On the same dock, Golden Yacht’s latest offering in the shape of 88m (289ft) superyacht Project X will also be causing a buzz. Freshly delivered, show-goers shouldn’t miss the opportunity to step on board to admire her beautiful Massari-designed interiors, as well as her 7.5-meter by 3-meter glass-enclosed swimming pool on her aft main deck and vast beach club featuring comfortable lounging area and bar, alongside a wellness suite with Hammam and Finnish Sauna.
Another star of the show will be the 85m (279ft) luxury explorer yacht VICTORIOUS , who wowed visitors last year with her distinctive sleek lines culminating in a 2-meter bowsprit and impressive array of charter-rich features and family-friendly amenities, not to mention the luxury Rolls Royce perched on her helideck bow!
The 75m (247ft) superyacht KENSHÕ will also be making waves for those keen to experience her zen-calm interiors up-close. Launched earlier this year, the innovative vessel redefines the concept of space and layout, providing guests with the ultimate luxurious platform to relax, entertain and socialize onboard.

Where to eat at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022
In Port Hercules, there are a variety of options available for snacks and refreshments, including the Upper Deck Lounge bar & restaurant run by the renowned Fairmont Monte-Carlo, as well as the Sapphire Lounge – a VIP bar and dining experience open exclusively to Sapphire badge holders – both located near the Parvis Piscine entrance.
Monaco itself has no shortage of restaurants to suit every occasion and palate during the show. For something more casual, Rue Princesse Caroline is lined with different restaurants that are well-suited to a light bite.
In the evenings, COYA Monte Carlo is where the in-crowd head for Latin-American fusion and a warm reception. The cocktail menu is expansive, so be sure to try one of their specialties and soak up the buzzy vibes as the evening wears on.
If it’s a sophisticated meal you’re after, Nobu is the ultimate choice. Expect a luxurious backdrop, a refined Japanese menu and a sensational taste experience among fellow show-goers.
Where to party after the Monaco Yacht Show 2022
As ever, Buddha-Bar will be one of the most popular venues for post-show partying in Monaco. The restaurant-bar crossover is a regular stop-off for those looking to dine and dance to the soundtrack of live DJ sets.
Twiga has a similar vibe, with a stellar menu coupled with an unrivalled club scene later in the evenings. Expect Methusalems of champagne topped with sparklers, dazzling entertainment and a no-holds-barred party vibe.
Twiga will be hosting plenty of Monaco Yacht Show-themed parties over the course of the show, so you’d be remiss not to pay the venue a visit, even if it’s just for a cocktail on the terrace.
For a true taste of French Riviera party life, look no further than Jimmy’z. This iconic club will be in full swing over the course of the Monaco Yacht Show, and will be amping up the entertainment with live performances from dance troupes and deck-spinning DJs.
Where to relax after the Monaco Yacht Show 2022
After the show, take the time to unwind and soak up the last of the Mediterranean sun.
Nikki Beach Monte Carlo is still going strong on the roof of the Fairmont Hotel, and offers poolside lounging and a summery soundtrack throughout the day, offset by spectacular views over Port Hercules and the yachts at anchor opposite the marina.
A little outside Monaco in the small town of Eze lies one of the best-kept secrets in the South of France. Anjuna Plage occupies a thin sliver of beach, and boasts a premier restaurant, boutique shop and a laid-back vibe that makes it a fan favourite. Best accessed by yacht, it also has a roster of A-list clientele.

Of the superyachts for sale today, you’ll surely find the perfect match.
We will gladly introduce you to a prime selection of displacement and semi-displacement motor yachts, along with various sailing yachts. If you have specific preferences, you can also search for luxury yachts for sale by using our advanced search filters higher up on the page.
By remaining a boutique superyacht brokerage, we are able to focus our undivided attention on you while keeping an eye on the global market and showing you only the best superyachts for sale at the moment.
Which Superyachts for Sale Suit You Best?
The ideal superyacht for you depends on the type of on-water experience you desire. If you seek power and speed, a motor-powered superyacht will meet your needs. On the other hand, if you prefer to harness the wind and sail across the water, a sailing yacht is the perfect choice.
Regardless of your preference, superyachts for sale today are known for their exceptional amenities, high performance, and remarkable design, which ensure they retain their value for resale or charter.
When selecting the perfect superyacht, you and your broker will evaluate various factors, including style, yacht type, build pedigree, crew layout, facilities, décor, and more. Whether you’re searching for a large, contemporary motor yacht or a classically styled gentleman’s yacht, SuperYachtsMonaco offers a diverse range of luxury yachts for sale.
When evaluating superyachts for sale, keep in mind that such an investment is primarily for the enjoyment of you, your family, and friends. Consider the type of experience and use you envision for your yacht. Are you looking for a new or pre-owned yacht? Do you prefer a custom-built or semi-custom yacht? How do you plan to use your yacht? If you intend to charter your yacht to offset running costs, factor in the needs of the charterer, but always prioritize your own preferences and requirements.
10-Step Process of Buying a Superyacht
If this is your first superyacht purchase, we’ve summarised the key steps below, from browsing superyachts for sale to getting the keys:
- Identify Your Needs: Determine specific requirements such as space, range, draft, and purpose (private use or charter).
- Engage a Broker : Hire a broker for their expertise, access to exclusive listings of luxury yachts for sale, and negotiation skills.
- Define Search Criteria : Collaborate with your broker to establish parameters such as yacht size, type, budget, style, capacity, shipyard preferences, materials, speed, accessibility, and cruising range.
- Review Recommendations : Your broker will compile a shortlist of suitable luxury yachts for sale based on market research and professional networks.
- Shortlisted Viewings : Schedule viewings of selected yachts, accompanied by your broker, to assess each option’s suitability and potential modifications.
- Decision and Negotiation : Choose a yacht and engage in price negotiations, facilitated by your broker, who will use market data to support the process.
- Contract, Survey, and Sea Trial : Upon agreeing on a price, sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and conduct a survey and sea trial. Legal assistance is often required to handle documentation and ensure compliance.
- Legal and Documentation : Coordinate with legal teams to prepare necessary documents, verify buyer and seller information, and ensure all conditions of the sale are met.
- Additional Considerations : Address aspects like financing, registry, crew recruitment, berth procurement, and yacht management with the help of your buying team.
- Closing the Sale : Finalize the transaction by transferring funds and title, often completed in international waters or another agreed location, ensuring all documentation is satisfactorily exchanged.
Purchasing a superyacht involves multiple stages, from defining your needs to closing the sale. Engaging a knowledgeable broker and a capable legal team ensures a smooth and successful transaction, making your yachting dreams a reality.

The Monaco Yacht Show 2023: A Round Up of the Top Stories
By Frances Flannagan
After a truly spectacular edition of the Monaco Yacht Show this year, we take a look at some of the top news stories from the event. From new launches, to concept designs, this year’s show featured a host of exciting industry updates.
The Monaco Yacht Show 2023 undoubtedly saw a range of exciting updates for the industry; we take a look at six of the top news that was unveiled during the show. We delve into the announcement of the launch of the first Amels 80, the unveiling of two concept designs from Feadship and Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, the reveal of Benetti's 85m project and Rossinavi’s 66m diesel electric ALCHEMY, as well as taking a look at Lürssen's 97m CARINTHIA VII following her 10-month refit.
The First Amels 80 Launched
On schedule to be delivered in 2025, the first Amels 80’s new hull and superstructure were spotted outside of her build shed. Described by Sean Bianchi, Partner and Head of New Construction at Burgess, and Naval Architect, as a yacht which will ‘stand out amongst her peers and set the benchmark for future yachts’, her launch was highly exciting news announced by the shipyard on the first morning of the yacht show.
Designed by Espen Øino, Amels 80 features a holistic and modern exterior design, in keeping with the Amels DNA. She also features sustainable materials and innovative hybrid technology, a key factor of the next-generation Amels' design.
‘The Amels 80 is a design that will not age. Her modern strong lines will look as good in 10 years as the day she is delivered. She is a big ship, full of features, with an impressive interior volume. She is everything and more that you would expect from an 80-metre yacht. There is a sense of scale, and nothing is wasted,’ commented Espen Øino.
Her interiors are custom-built, penned by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, with a neutral and natural palette, allowing for the owner to add their own personal style. She can accommodate up to 14 guests, who can enjoy a 200 square metres sun deck, a waterside beach club which opens on three sides and a wellness area and spa, to name a few of the fantastic amenities on board.
Benetti’s Full-Custom Espen Øino-Designed 85m Project Announced
PROJECT LIFE, Benetti’s new full-custom 85m, is a welcome addition to the Italian yard’s megayacht fleet. Her exteriors have also been penned by Espen Øino, who has injected Benetti’s distinctive characteristics into PROJECT LIFE’s design: the capacity to invent new lifestyles, offering varied interpretations of this concept across the decks. All spaces onboard are designed with sociability in mind, for instance, the large revolving lounge that changes its focal point depending on the time of day.
Her interiors have been designed by Francois Zuretti, who has chosen a beautiful balance between the colours and the surrounding environment, with an expanded opening that allows natural light to enhance the spaces.
PROJECT LIFE is built with all the available technologies to help reduce consumption, including diesel-electric propulsion and integrated hybrid solar panels that collect solar and thermal energy to power appliances onboard.
A Look Inside Lürssen’s 97m CARINTHIA VII Following Refit
Following a 10-month refit by Lürssen at its Hamburg facilities, the results of CARINTHIA VII’s extensive refit were revealed at this year's Monaco Yacht Show, where she was presented to the charter market for the first time, represented by Fraser.
She was designed by Tim Heywood, regarded by many as one of the world’s first true mega yachts. Kept largely hidden from industry over the last 21 years, with her interior rarely seen, her introduction to the charter market has been eagerly awaited, as has the results of her refit.
Her new work includes redesigned exterior decks, new lounge and living areas and a new 12m/39’ pool and 90sqm air-conditioned gymnasium. Her interiors are sophisticated and elegant, with beautiful wooden flooring pervading the design and neutral beige and browns contrasted with cool-tone hues of blues and stunningly clean white stylings. She is a true masterpiece and an unmissable offering to the charter market.
Embracing Sustainability: Feadship Debuts Project DUNES
DUNE takes a significant step towards Feadship’s goal of Net-Zero superyachts, combining features that reduce energy demand with technology that eliminates emissions and increases efficiency. Each individual element of the design assists in reducing environmental impact, for instance, shading windows to reduce cooling requirements, however, when implemented together, they slash a superyacht’s environmental impact dramatically.
Inspired by the aesthetics of sand dunes, this vessel reflects the onboard lifestyle that today’s owners desire, with flexible, multi-purpose spaces, endless views, and a combination of sociable open-plan areas with cosy, intimate spaces. She has an asymmetrical superstructure with almost no straight lines, meaning that spaces drift into one another, furthering the notion of flow throughout the yacht, and the heavy use of glass seamlessly blends the interiors with the surroundings.
Her design, along with all Feadship concepts, is a true joint effort between Feadship, Studio de Voogt and the yard's Knowledge and Innovation department. With a wealth of expertise and experience across all collaborators, the shipyard’s concept designs are able to be of the highest possible quality.
AWARE, The Essence of Luxury, Presented by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design
Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design presented the 79.9m yacht concept AWARE at the Monaco Yacht Show, a ready-to-build, fully operational concept with a 1600 mm scale model. Her design combines proven technology with innovation and the use of the most precious and durable materials. At the forefront of this design is space optimisation, with an abundance of space on board, vast exterior decks and an unparalleled inside-outside connection,
AWARE has been described as the ‘Essence of Luxury’: a logical step in yacht design in which all space is optimised to give guests on board the best possible experience. Sander Sinot, Designer at the firm commented:
‘For the design of AWARE the focus is on maximising the space on board within the yacht’s limited structure. We designed open plan layouts for the beach club, lounges and exterior decks that offer inherent flexibility and ample space while reducing the number of decks.’
With exceptional features to optimise the outside areas, including a beach club with a three-metre high ceiling, the interiors have similarly been designed to provide ultimate functionality and a spectacular inside-out experience. She is a tri-deck design with an open plan pavilion on the bridge deck, allowing for unrestricted views of the ocean on all sides.
Rossinavi’s 66m Diesel Electric Motor Yacht ALCHEMY
Unveiled at Port Hercules was Rossinavi’s 66m M/Y ALCHEMY, a fully custom design by Vitruvius Yachts with interior and exterior styling by Enrico Gobbi. She features diesel-electric propulsion, propelled by rods to reduce the loss of energy between the engines and navigation speed.
ALCHEMY is an elegant tri-deck design with a focus on the outdoor areas and wellness aspects of the yacht. With a spacious central corridor, the forward owner’s cabin offers a clear view of the sea, creating a sense of openness in the design alongside a strong connection to the surroundings. A special emphasis has been placed on ensuring comfort on board, in particular the minimisation of vibrations, meaning that every technical and material choice has been considered to reduce noise and vibrations.
The atmosphere throughout this vessel is calm and elegant, with every single piece of furniture being bespoke. Enrico Gobbi commented:
‘Spa mood was the keyword for the interior design and exterior decor of this yacht; natural materials, soft colours, and essential shapes for the interiors. Soft indirect lights to 'wet' the simplicity of the forms, where the detail and construction quality had to emerge and characterize the space: 'detail makes the differences' this is the motto that we have followed more than ever in this project together with the owners.’

The 32nd edition of the Monaco Yacht Show was as spectacular as ever, we can only begin to imagine the wonders that the 2024 event will hold.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene's off-duty yacht getaway with twins
Grace kelly's son and the former olympic swimmer are holidaying with prince jacques and princess gabriella.
Prince Albert , 66, and Princess Charlene of Monaco , 46, wasted no time getting stuck into activities on their family holiday with twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.
Grace Kelly's son and the former Olympic swimmer have been enjoying a break in the sun, including swimming in the sea, playing in the sand and lounging on a boat.
Charlene has previously opened up about making sure she doesn't force her children into following in the sporty footsteps of herself and her husband, who are both former Olympic athletes.
She represented South Africa in 2000, while the Prince of Monaco competed in bobsledding at the Winter Olympics five times between 1988 and 2002.
"I don’t want to push them into training intensely for a sport," she began during an interview with Monaco-Matin .
"The first thing that felt essential for my husband and I was to teach them how to swim so they wouldn’t be scared of swimming.
"These days, they’re very confident in the water and Prince Albert is often with them taking part in aquatic activities, for example over the summer," the South African blonde beauty continued.
The pair highlighted the importance of travel, especially to South Africa where Charlene can share her childhood memories.
"We have also taken them to different countries around the world. It’s a privilege to be able to do that," Charlene said, and her husband added: "I don’t think that many children their age will have visited as many countries as them, but it is all part of their education."
The family of four are likely enjoying packing in some quality time together before the next school year starts. In 2023, Charlene said her kids – who were previously homeschooled – were l ooking forward to returning after their summer break.
"Jacques and Gabriella were both very excited to see their friends again after such a long vacation. It's also the first time that they won't be in the same class," she said.
"It's a big step for them, and that seems good to me. So, like for any student on their first day back at school, they had a lot of expectations about their new classmates, their teachers, about what they were going to wear for their first day."
