Seven Seas

It’s a wrap for Steven Spielberg’s superyacht Seven Seas .

The world-famous director finally sold his epic 282-footer last week to an unknown buyer, according to Merle Wood & Associates . Although the brokerage firm did not specificity the amount paid, the vessel, now known as Man of Steel , was listed earlier this year for $160 million . Thom Conboy of Denison Yachting represented the buyer, who is apparently a longtime repeat client.

The blockbuster yacht, built by noted shipyard Oceanco to Spielberg’s exact specifications, first hit the seas back in 2010. The Academy Award winner, who has a net worth of $3.7 billion, spared no expense when designing his dream machine, and this is the first time it has been offered for sale.

The glitzy interior, which was penned by Nuvolari & Lenard and Molly Isaksen, spans four decks and offers ample space for entertaining A-listers. The vessel can accommodate 20 guests across nine generous staterooms, as well as 28 crew. The scene-stealer is, of course, Spielberg’s owner’s suite, which features a full-beam stateroom with ensuite and dressing room, along with an office and a terrace with its own private jacuzzi.

Naturally, Seven Seas is brimming with amenities fit for film royalty, including supersized screens in every room and a full movie theater. Elsewhere, there is a sauna, steam room, gym, pool, huge beach club, helipad and countless lounge areas and bars. As expected, there’s also a fully-stocked garage packed with a tender, speedboat, water toys and diving gear.

Spielberg ensured Seven Seas lived up to her name, too. Over the past decade, the 74-year-old has taken the go-anywhere superyacht all across the seven seas. It’s been spotted sailing off the coast of France during the Cannes Film Festival, and, more recently, on the waters near Antigua and Barbuda. The yacht’s transatlantic capability comes courtesy of twin MTU engines packing 4,680 hp each. She can hit a top speed of 20 knots or cruise at a more leisurely 15 knots.

Now that Spielberg has called cut on Seven Seas , we are patiently awaiting his next marine masterpiece.

Does this 357-Foot New Yacht Belong to Steven Spielberg?

Oceanco is keeping details of the mammoth vessel’s owner under wraps.

By Irenie Forshaw

Steven Spielberg yacht

Oceanco is used to catering for the fabulously wealthy; earlier this year the Dutch shipbuilder delivered Jeff Bezos’s gleaming new ship , Koru. Now, the rumor mill is going into overdrive once again. This time, Steven Spielberg is reportedly the billionaire behind its newest yacht: Seven Seas.

Spanning 357 feet, the mammoth motoryacht isn’t as long as Koru – which scooped the title of the longest sailing yacht on the planet at 417 ft – but she does cut an impressive figure. This isn’t Spielberg’s first foray into the yachting world – the Hollywood director had his first ship (also called Seven Seas ) delivered by Oceanco back in 2010.

The original Seven Seas – whose name is inspired by Spielberg’s seven children – measured 282 feet and boasted an expansive spa , gym, beauty salon, and, of course, movie theatre. But the four-time Academy Award winner sold the ship to Canadian billionaire Barry Zekelman in 2021 for a cool $151m (the ship has since been renamed Man of Steel).

It seems Spielberg has caught the superyacht bug; the new Seven Seas is even bigger and more lavish than her predecessor. So, what do we know about the director’s latest ship? While Oceanco has remained relatively tight-lipped on the project, a few key details have emerged which we’ll dive into here.

Who is building Steven Spielberg’s new yacht?

Spielberg yacht Seven Seas

The superyacht – previously known as project Y720 – was commissioned back in 2022 for a whopping $250m. She was built by Oceanco – the same shipyard that made Spielberg’s old boat in Alblasserdam, a town in the western Netherlands around 12 miles from Rotterdam. Omani billionaire businessman Mohammed al Barwani bought the luxury shipyard back in 2010 (he also owns Turquoise Yachts in Istanbul).

Oceanco has an impressive track record when it comes to building jaw-dropping superyachts. As well as recently unveiling Bezos’s Koru, four years ago the shipbuilder delivered Black Pearl – a striking three-mast vessel which, at 350 ft, became the largest sailing yacht in the world at the time, and garnered attention for its cutting-edge eco-credentials.

What do we know about the design?

steven spielberg yacht

Oceanco collaborated with Dutch firm Sinot Yacht Architecture Design to build Spielberg’s new yacht. The project was overseen by Lateral Naval Architects, with the team carrying out an “extensive optimization process” to ensure Seven Seas met the highest performance standards (she is the first LY3-compliant yacht to feature a Marine Evacuation System).

Powered by twin MTU 20V 4000 M73L diesel engines, she is able to reach top speeds of up to 20 knots and weighs in at 4,444 GT. Her sleek steel hull, teak deck, and lightweight aluminum superstructure give her a graceful silhouette; this is certainly a yacht to turn heads.

Considerably larger than Spielberg’s former yacht, Seven Seas 2.0 can host up to 14 guests across seven cabins (so there’s plenty of space for his entire family). There’s also room onboard for up to 30 crew, plus a gym, pool, spa, beach club, helipad and tender garage. Oh, and there’s a movie theatre too. Obviously.

The fourth largest project delivered by Oceanco to date, she was glimpsed for the first time in March 2022 being rolled out of the construction shed at the shipyard and was spotted in the Port of Gibraltar in early July.

How about the interiors?

Spielberg yacht exterior

It’s extremely unlikely we’ll get to see inside Spielberg’s new yacht anytime soon, but we do know the interiors onboard Seven Seas have been crafted by Beverly Hills-based designer Molly Isaksen (in a telling sign she was also brought in for the interiors onboard Man of Steel ).

While details remain sparse, Oceanco did reveal we can expect plenty of “natural materials and glass onboard, offering guests an unparalleled outward-looking experience”.

A Closer Look at Steven Spielberg’s Yacht Seven Seas

Few names in Hollywood can compare to Steven Spielberg. The mention of this award-winning filmmaker’s name alone brings about memories of some of the industry’s best movies including Jaws, Indiana Jones, Schindler’s List, Lincoln, Ready Player One, and so many more. While we only know a few details about how Spielberg lives his private life, we do know that he owns a yacht—a superyacht at that. Called the Seven Seas , Spielberg’s yacht is the type that exists only in dreams. We’re going to head for the ocean to take a closer look at Spielberg’s yacht and what makes it incredible.

First off, it’s important to note that Spielberg’s yacht is worth about $184 million. That’s a lot of money, but it’s not that big of a deal for someone whose net worth is about $3.7 billion. Spielberg continues to add to that net worth, not only through making films but also through his yacht. Business Insider tells us that Spielberg actually opened up the doors to his yacht to allow anyone to charter it for a fee. We say anyone because even you can charter the yacht as long as you can afford the monthly fee of $1.2 million. If that fee is a little too steep for you, allow us to just indulge your senses by telling you why the yacht might be worth that much.

First off, it may sound ridiculous but people have insane amounts of money everywhere. And Spielberg can charter his yacht by that much because he is who he is. His superyacht is actually for sale, and it’s a good sales strategy to allow potential buyers to charter the yacht before purchase. This 282-foot long vessel was designed and built by Dutch company Oceano . The style of the yacht is sleek and elegant. Apart from its size, you can tell how luxurious it really is from its exterior design. The blue hull perfectly contrasts the white color of the upper deck platform. It’s simply a stunning view from any angle you take it in.

The Interior

Moving into the interior is a similar experience. Every single room inside the yacht is outlined with beautiful and rich wooden materials. The décor is exotic, eclectic, and equally luxurious. Every single room in the superyacht is larger than average rooms on land. But the room sizes aren’t the best part about the Seven Seas. When Oceano created this yacht, they packed it in with a number of amenities that only the rich could afford to have built. The Seven Seas has a gorgeous infinity pool, but it’s no ordinary infinity pool. This area is outfitted with a 15-foot dual-purpose glass screen that serves as a monitor for movies to be played on. After all, what’s a Spielberg yacht if you can’t watch movies on it? The infinity pool happens to also serve another luxury purpose: a helipad. The pool converts somehow just so a helicopter (maybe Spielberg’s) can come and go as needed. Other amenities in the yacht includes an indoor cinema with a screen larger than the infinity pool’s, a fully equipped gym that features an amazing panoramic view of the ocean, a fully functional spa for relaxation, and of course, a fully stocked bar for some libations.

Watersports

The fun doesn’t end there at the Seven Seas. The yacht will also give you access to a lot of watersports options. As a guest on this yacht, you can have access to various watersports equipment such as snorkels, wetsuits, kayaks, sea bobs, water skiis, and so many more. For those seriously considering renting out this charter, you’d have to consider the accommodations first. The yacht needs 26 crewmembers to be fully staffed. The rest of the guest rooms can be occupied by up to 12 guests, plus Spielberg. While all the guest rooms are lovely and amazing, not all guest rooms are created equal. You could expect that Spielberg’s room happens to be the best, as it features a study room and a Jacuzzi among other special things. All of the guest rooms are fit to welcome some of Hollywood’s royalty including Leonardo di Caprio and actress Blake Lively.

When it comes to performance, only true power could pull a yacht of that size. The Seven Seas has an incredibly powerful engine that has a maximum speed of 20 knots. The superyacht cruises at 15 knots. It has a range of 15,000 nautical miles, and it’s outfitted with some of the best stabilizing mechanisms out there. Interestingly enough, Spielberg is actually prone to seasickness. In fact, he’s said a few times before that he’s actually not much of an ocean person. People have said similar things before only to have their minds changed by the ocean. It’s been rumored that the reason why Spielberg is chartering the Seven Seas is that he wants to sell it for a bigger yacht. Despite the seasickness, Spielberg has fallen in love with the ocean and the boating life. He wants more yacht space than what he’s got now, and we can only speculate that he’s probably looking to spend more time in it than he does now. After all, being in the ocean for a long time can begin to feel claustrophobic. It’s been rumored that Spielberg has his eyes set on a particular yacht that sails at about 300 feet. It isn’t much bigger than the Seven Seas, but it sure costs much more. The new yacht is said to cost $250 million, and it probably has even better amenities than the Seven Seas. For now, Spielberg is enjoying the superyacht he has now until it’s time for the next.

A rendering of the live-aborad world-spanning yacht ULYSSIA, planned for a 2029 launch. The ... [+] 130-residence ULYSSIA will travel the world on an itinerary of the passenger-owners choosing.

Where would the travel industry be without dreamers? Wilbur and Orville Wright’s first flight in the North Carolina dunes was just 120 years ago. In 2024, a record-breaking 5 billion people will fly this year .

Dreamers have created everything from great gaming palaces in barren deserts to low-fare airlines. What if your dream was to build an elegant yacht big enough for 250 people to live aboard as they constantly sail around the world?

That’s the goal of ULYSSIA founder Frank Binder, a life-long yachtsman. Binder, a Monaco-based architect, MBA and entrepreneur, recently spoke at a launch event in Los Angeles. The event featured a beautiful scale model of the ship, overlooking a sparking Hollywood Hills pool.

Binder’s dream is ULYSSIA, an upcoming state-of-the-art 320-meter, 15-deck residential superyacht. At 99,600 gross tons, the ULYSSIA will be larger than the World War II battleship Missouri, which weighed 58,000 tons and measured 887 feet. Unlike the battleship, the ULYSSIA will have a 2:1 crew to guest ratio.

ULYSSIA construction is planned to start in late 2024, but no later than September 2025. Delivery is expected in October 2028, but no later than October 2029. The cost of the ship is estimated at $1.5 billion dollars.

The globe-spanning ship is named after Ulysses, the Roman name for Odysseus, who navigated the seas on his great Odyssey. Yachts are female, referred to as ‘she.’ ULYSSIA is thus a female interpretation of Ulysses.

An artist's rendering of the outside pool deck of the ULYSSIA. The ocean-going super yacht, slated ... [+] for a 2029 arrival, will have 132 live-aboard residences.

“Our vision is that of a unique lifestyle on a residential yacht that travels the world. This is floating real estate. But it's much more than that. It's about the lifestyle that we're offering, the possibility to discover the world without leaving home, within a community of people that you will find nowhere else,” CEO Frank Binder explained. “We will enable owners to give back as we travel, wherever we see there's need, and we’ll use the yacht as a platform to do ocean conservation work.”

The ship is indeed designed to sail the Seven Seas. She has a draft of just 7.5 meters, making many mid-size harbors accessible. Yet the ship’s broad beam of 34 meters makes the ship’s large residences possible.

Designed to be “the world’s most exclusive residential yacht community,” ULYSSIA comprises 132 residences as well as 22 guest suites for visitors. One-, two-, three- and four-bedroom layouts are available, with immaculate kitchens, pantries, powder rooms and large walk-in closets. Each residence will have an ocean terrace.

All will offer “five-star amenities and curated authentic experiences.” Pets may be able to join your journey, but certain breeds will not be permitted. All will need a ‘pet passport’ with vaccination history.

Residences can be designed ready to occupy, save for personal effects and art works. Alternatively, buyers can appoint their own design team or choose from designs from one of eight world class interior designers. They include lead designer Francesca Muzio, and Jean-Michel Gathy, Nicole Hollis, Sabrina Monte-Carlo, Jenan Hajjar and Lenny Kravitz.

Pricing for the onboard residences starts at EUR 9.6M. The company says the average price is around 18M, with top-end residences around 24.5M. The ship also features several luxurious penthouses that start at 57.5M EUR.

Artist's conception of the rear marina and 'beach' of the ULYSSIA super yacht, where boats, ... [+] paddleboards and other sea 'toys' can be launched.

Residents will also pay an annual cost of ownership fee, analogous to the homeowners association fee in a luxury condominium development. ULYSSIA projects the total annual cost of ownership at between 3 and 3.5% of the purchase price. This will cover a food and beverage allowance, all regular maintenance and operating costs including itinerary, fuel, insurance and crew.

To get your foot in the door, there is a 10,000 EUR Reservation Fee, with additional scheduled fees like 20% at Purchase Contract Signing, 20% at Start of Construction, etc. Interested parties can register their interest at ulyssia.com. A member of the Ulyssia Residences team will be in touch.

In addition to the residences, the 15-deck super yacht will have many shared spaces for members to mingle. This includes five restaurants, both an interior and exterior pool, as well as classroom facilities for children, business services for members, and medical facilities slated to include equipment up to MRI machines.

There will be a Mediterranean Restaurant, an Asian Restaurant, a sushi bar, a private dining room, The Grille and the ULYSSIA theatre. There is a gym and a spa with multiple treatment rooms. Then there’s the arts and crafts club, a golf club, a brasserie and even a grocery. There’s a pickleball court and a house of worship, as well as a marina and a beach club.

The ship will also have boats and Zodiac inflatables for island expeditions. Two helicopters will be on board for transport, expeditions and of course, heliskiing. There are also a pair of Triton submarines for underwater exploration.

The ship was designed by experts in the maritime and hospitality industries. Envisioned by Binder, it was designed by Espen Øino and is slated for construction by Meyer Werft , one of the largest, most modern shipyards in the world.

Artist's conception of the ULYSSIA super yacht, showing one of the ship's helicopters for transport, ... [+] expeditions or heli-skiing.

The ship will be powered by efficient internal combustion engines using clean-burning methanol with advanced emission control systems, so that environmental impact will be reduced to a minimum. Advanced laundry and garbage treatment systems will significantly reduce the yacht’s overall energy demand.

ULYSSIA is also able to use green energy via a shore connection. The engines can be shut down completely to reduce emissions and pollution in the ports.

The first three years of the itinerary are pre-determined, due to the lead time required to ensure ULYSSIA can be accommodated at her destinations. Thereafter, a democratically elected board made up of five to seven resident owners will consult residents and the operator to create and approve the itinerary a minimum of two years in advance.

With a shipload of multimillionaires and billionaires, how will ULYSSIA avoid a DIEHARD situation at sea, like piracy, kidnapping, or terrorists making a statement?

According to a spokesperson, ULYSSIA will have a robust safety and security system based on multiple layers of both visible and invisible services. The company partners with Marine Guard, a leader in protecting ultra-high-net-worth families in the marine and yachting industries.

ULYSSIA’s security team will also include several professionals with former Special Forces backgrounds. “We will be able to detect and deal with any threats from the air, on the water and underwater,” said a spokeswoman.

“The ULYSSIA’s residents have the extraordinary opportunity to journey in safety and privacy to all corners of the world from the comfort of their own homes – to chic yachting ports, iconic cities and the remotest locations on Earth,” the spokesperson added. “On the M/Y ULYSSIA, your home is the world, and your life knows no boundaries.”

Stranded Pair Jumps From Yacht in 20-Foot Seas

I t was the opposite of what you'd call smooth sailing. For more than 24 hours, two people holed up in a yacht that was stranded more than 100 miles off the coast of Australia as the boat took on water and was battered by massive waves. The 48-year-old woman and 60-year-old man were "fine" when they were finally rescued Tuesday morning local time, said Chief Inspector Anthony Brazzill of New South Wales Police Marine Area Command, per NBC News . "But the conditions were terrible." He told the Guardian the 62-foot racing yacht, Spirit of Mateship, "was running away from us as we were chasing it down the coast."

The pair had activated a distress beacon around 1pm local time Monday due to a mechanical failure. The yacht had lost a rudder and was taking on water some 115 miles off the coast of NSW while drifting further from shore, police said, per the Independent . A rescue helicopter arrived two hours later, but was unable to winch the crew members up due to the extreme conditions, per NBC. Conditions were so poor that another rescue couldn't be attempted until the following morning. This time, rescuers arrived on a police patrol boat, to which the man and woman had to jump while an accompanying Navy ship attempted to block the wind. They were safely on board by 7:25am local time, according to a statement.

The pair had been unable to bring down the yacht's sail, which made the rescue "extremely challenging," Brazzill said, per the Guardian . "They tell us they did check the weather conditions, but you know, we've had gale force warnings," Brazzill added, per NBC. He described 70mph winds and waves almost 20 feet tall, per the Independent. As he spoke to reporters in Sydney, he noted the two "uninjured" crew members, who likely got little sleep during their ordeal, were "sound asleep" aboard the rescue boat. The yacht—which "has raced in multiple Sydney to Hobart yacht races," per News.com.au —had to be abandoned some 185 miles east of the NSW coast, he added.

Two rescued from stricken yacht in 'terrible' conditions off the Australian coast

Stricken in rough seas and with their yacht taking on water, two people were rescued almost 24 hours after the vessel became stranded off Australia's southern coast , officials said Tuesday.

A 48-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man were successfully transferred to the Nemesis, a New South Wales Water Police patrol boat, at 7:25 a.m. local time (5:25 p.m. ET), the force said in a statement.

“They were fine at the time,” Chief Inspector Anthony Brazzill of NSW Police Marine Area Command told a news conference after the rescue. “But the conditions were terrible.”

He added that the waves were almost 20 feet tall and winds were up to 60-knots.

The 62 foot “Spirit of Mateship” had sustained a mechanical failure and was taking on water 93 miles off the coast of New South Wales, when a distress beacon was activated at about 1 p.m. local time on Monday, the police statement said.

About two hours later, a rescue helicopter arrived on scene and was able make contact with the two crew members, but they were unable to extract the pair because of the extreme conditions and concerns about fuel, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said in a statement.

The conditions were so bad that the operation was suspended overnight and only resumed at first light, the police statement said.

A rescue boat was then able to reach the scene and safely extract the pair, a few hours later, it said, adding that they were “uninjured.”

After their ordeal, Brazzill said the pair were “sound asleep” aboard the boat.

“They tell us they did check the weather conditions, but you know, we’ve had gale force warnings,” he said.

Yacht-related accidents are not uncommon Australia.

In April 2022, a father and his son were rescued from a yacht after it crashed into a reef in Western Australia.

Then in June this year, a 65-year-old man died after his yacht capsized off Lady Elliot Island, the southernmost coral cay of the Great Barrier Reef.

Sailors met by family on dry land after yacht rescue in 'horrendous conditions'

Millie Roberts wearing a pink top and earrings and an 'M' necklace

By Millie Roberts

A man and a woman have returned to dry land after being rescued from a yacht on the New South Wales South Coast.

Brett and Lisa were saved during a multi-agency rescue on Tuesday morning, before docking in Sydney on Tuesday.

Lisa, 48, said she was feeling "safe and secure and happy" after the ordeal.

A man and woman have expressed gratitude for being back on dry land after they were rescued from a stricken yacht on the New South Wales South Coast on Tuesday.

Brett, 60, and Lisa, 48, were found "safe and sound" about 170 nautical miles east of Nowra at around 7:30am.

"I am so pleased to say that this rescue operation has been a resounding success," NSW Marine Area Command Acting Superintendent Siobhan Munro said.

The rescue mission was launched off the South Coast after a distress beacon was activated about 1pm on Monday.

At the time, the yacht was 85 nautical miles from Sydney, and had drifted 160 nautical miles offshore by the time emergency services reached Brett and Lisa.

"That's how strong the winds were and how fast it was, pushing the vessel away," NSW Marine Area Command Sergeant Ryan Spong said of the conditions.

The 19-metre vessel, Spirit of Mateship, had experienced mechanical failure and was taking on water, Ben Flight from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said on Tuesday morning.

It's believed Brett and Lisa left Jervis Bay on Sunday or Monday for Sydney, NSW Marine Area Command Chief Inspector Anthony Brazzill said.

On Tuesday, a multi-agency operation retrieved the pair "in some quite horrendous conditions", Sergeant Spong added.

The pair were taken on board NSW Water Police vessel Nemesis, and thanked everyone involved in their return to Sydney.

Lisa said she was feeling "safe and secure and happy" despite not getting much sleep last night.

Brett said the waiting was "alright" and that the boat was "safe" and "more than seaworthy".

"It was more we were tired, seasick, we couldn't continue any further," he said.

"That was a decision we made to call ... it could have got worse ... I think we made the right decision."

The Nemesis passed through Sydney Heads just before 6pm, before the pair were met by family in Balmain half an hour later.

Spirit of Mateship, which has raced in several Sydney to Hobart yacht races, was abandoned at sea.

Breaking news, bombshell details emerge about vladimir putin’s alleged secret sons with russian gymnast alina kabaeva.

A newly released investigative report has brought to light new details surrounding the lives of Ivan Putin and Vladimir Putin Jr., the alleged sons of the Russian President and Alina Kabaeva, a renowned gymnast and rumored longtime love interest.

Putin, 71, had two daughters from his first marriage to Lyudmila Putina before they divorced in 2013.

The Kremlin has denied any relationship between Putin and Kabaeva, 41, for years . However, media speculation linking the two romantically has persisted for more than a decade.

The investigation, first published by the Dossier Center before being recirculated by  “The Moscow Times,” claims that Putin and Kabaeva began their relationship as early as 2008, roughly four years after she claimed gold at the Athens Olympics.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin attends a state reception at the Gulustan Palace in Baku, Azerbaijan August 19, 2024.

The  report  claims to offer a rare glimpse into Putin’s personal life, which has remained a mystery for years.

In 2015, the couple allegedly welcomed their first son, Ivan, at the Sant’Anna maternity clinic in Lugano, Switzerland. Four years later, in 2019, their second son, Vladimir Putin Jr, was reportedly born in Moscow.

The report cites sources close to the president, stating that the Russian president himself made the decisions about where each child’s birth would take place.

Russian President Vladimir Putin (R) shakes hands with famous Russian gymnasts Alina Kabayeva (C).

“When he was born, Vladimir Putin was so happy that he shouted: ‘Hurray! Finally! A boy!’” one of the sources published in Russian media claims.

The two boys are said to live secluded lives in their father’s mansion located in Valdai National Park, a vast and remote estate northwest of Moscow.

According to the Dossier Center, their lives are filled with the presence of nannies, governesses, and sports coaches.

The report claims that Ivan and Vladimir Jr. rarely interact with children their own age, spending most of their time alone or with adults appointed by Putin to oversee their development.

The investigation details how the children only see their parents late at night and only meet their peers during large celebratory gatherings.

Their lives, while opulent, appear remarkably insulated from the outside world, according to the report.

The family reportedly spends a lot of their time at Putin’s residence near Sochi. During the summer, they embark on long yacht trips within the “safe waters” of Russia.

Putin’s residences in Crimea are also regular holiday spots for the family.

Ivan and Vladimir Jr. are reportedly taught by governesses and teachers recruited from the website English Nanny.

One recent job posting for an English teacher promised a generous salary of €7,700 (A$12,500 per month), with paid accommodation and a five-day workweek.

However, the job came with strict conditions. Leaving the family’s residence is strictly prohibited, and candidates must pass numerous medical exams before getting the nod.

Aside from English lessons, the boys also reportedly receive music classes and German language instruction from a Bosnian teacher, Sofija Božić, who has worked with the family since 2017.

The investigation noted that teachers and coaches rarely interact with the family directly and instead make contact through numerous assistants.

European champion Alina Kabaeva of Russia strikes pose with the hoop during the qualifying round for team and individual all-around competition of the World Rythmic Gymnastics Championships in Osaka 30 September 1999.

Both boys are said to have an extensive Lego collection and use several iPads for games and online lessons.

Russian leader’s ‘official’ children

Putin has two officially acknowledged children – Maria, 37, and Katerina, 35, both from first wife Lyudmila Ocheretnaya.

Dr. Maria Vorontsova, a year younger than Kabaeva, was born when the Russian president was a KGB spy in Germany.

In 2019, the pair allegedly welcomed their second son, Vladimir Putin Jr, was reportedly born in Moscow.

She is an expert in rare genetic diseases in children and works as a lead researcher at the National Medical Research Centre for Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

Meanwhile Katerina is deputy director of the Institute for Mathematical Research of Complex Systems at Moscow State University.

She is a former high-kicking ‘rock’n’roll’ dancer.

Alina Kabaeva of Russia goes through her routine with the rope in the All Around rythmic gymnastics at the Goodwill Games in Brisbane in August 2001.

Both daughters have been sanctioned by the West – unlike Kabaeva, and Mr Putin’s unacknowledged “love child” Luiza Rozova, 19.

Luiza is the daughter of cleaner-turned-multi-millionaire Svetlana Krivonogikh, 45, now part-owner of a major Russian bank, one of the country’s wealthiest women with an estimated $130 million financial and property fortune.

Never miss a story.

Many Russians saw Kabaeva as the reason for the break-up of Putin’s marriage to former air stewardess Lyudmila, 63, in 2014.

Putin previously said: “I have a private life in which I do not permit interference. It must be respected.”

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko previously hinted that Putin’s divorce had come about because Kabaeva had “put pressure on the President.”

Meanwhile, Kabaeva is on record as saying she had met a man who “I love very much,” gushing: “Sometimes you feel so happy that you even feel scared.”

Kabaeva has kept a low profile throughout the Ukraine war – but her media company has been vocal in cheerleading for the Russian President.

Putin has 2 secret sons who live in isolation and extreme luxury, report alleges

  • Putin has two sons with former gymnast Alina Kabaeva, a Russian investigation said.
  • They lead isolated lives on an estate near Valdai, according to The Dossier Center.
  • Putin has long sought to obscure his private life and keep his children's identities secret.

Insider Today

Russian President Vladimir Putin has two secret sons who are being raised in isolation and luxury, a Russian media report alleges.

The report came from The Dossier Center, an investigative group in Russia, where media is heavily suppressed.

Business Insider was unable to verify the report itself.

It says the children are with Alina Kabaeva, a retired gymnast with whom Putin is long rumored to have had a relationship.

According to the report, the boys' names are Ivan and Vladimir Jr.

They are said to live in a luxury estate shielded from the public and even contact with other children.

Putin's long been rumored to have children with Kabaeva , but the report is the first time their identities and details of their lives have been made public.

The Russian president has fiercely guarded details of his private life, but is known to have two daughters with his former wife, Lyudmila Putina.

Though he has never publicly confirmed their identities, they are said to be Maria Vorontsova, a biologist, and Katerina Tikhonova, a businesswoman.

Putin is reported to have started a relationship with Kabaeva after his divorce in 2008.

The Dossier Center is run by the exiled Russian opposition figure Mikhail Khodorkovsky and has been publishing explosive stories about Putin and his circle since 2018 .

Its latest report said that details of the lives of the children are closely guarded, and that the boys have used "cover documents since infancy, which are mostly made for intelligence officers and people under state protection."

"Their dates of birth are known only to their closest relatives."

They lead isolated lives on Putin's luxury estate in Valdai, northwest of Moscow, where they are surrounded by tutors, nannies, sports coaches, and security agents, the Dossier Center said.

According to a 2021 report by associates of Alexander Navalny, the Russian dissident who died in suspicious circumstances in January, Valdai is Putin's "personal favorite" of his properties.

The report says that those visiting the Valdai estate, including children, must isolate for two weeks. Putin himself is reported to have insisted on this measure at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic for those coming into contact with him.

According to the report, the children spend their winters skiing in Sochi, on the Black Sea, where Putin has another vast palace. Their summers are spent on yachts, confined to Russian waters in the wake of the Ukraine war, it said.

"They have to play mostly alone or with adults… They only see their parents late at night, and their peers — mainly during big celebrations," the Dossier Center wrote.

They are said to have private jets, armored trains, helicopters, or yachts at their disposal.

As with their father, security around them is tight, the Dossier Center reported.

"Like Vladimir Putin, his sons have their own mugs and drink only from them," it says, while security officials "are always close to the children."

The investigation claimed to have uncovered posts on a website that offers tutoring services for elite Russians advertising positions teaching the boys.

The ad requests tutors who can teach English and accept that they will be unable to leave the isolated estate where the children live.

The pay would be $8,540 a month, the report said.

South African tutors are preferred because they are seen as less negative toward Russia in the wake of the Ukraine war, the report said.

The report says that the children rarely see Putin, but that he "treats his sons even more reverently than he once did his daughters."

It said that Putin is "the only one who can speak sternly to them."

"None of them risk arguing with the children, so the boys are growing up believing they are exceptional. Any whim is fulfilled, and they view all the residences where they live as their personal property," the report says.

It says that Ivan is a Disney enthusiast and likes to dress up as Disney characters. The Russian president, it says, disapproves and prefers Soviet-era cartoons.

Occasionally, Putin and his elder son play ice hockey together on a special private ice hockey rink on the Valdai estate, the report says.

Putin has been the commanding figure in Russia politics since 2000, and analysts have long speculated about who he may choose to empower as his successor.
