Rilassata: Tankoa delivers sixth unit in newly styled 50m series to French owner

Genoa-based shipyard Tankoa Yachts has delivered the sixth unit in its freshly restyled S501 EVO series. The restyling was built on the success of sistership Grey (now Jimmy ), with features including improved technical capacity and a better configuration, including a more open saloon, enlarged windows and extended sundeck. 

Built for a French owner, the 49.9-metre yacht has been christened Rilassata ; an Italian word for "relaxed".  According to BOATPro , she is now anchored by a small settlement in Sardina, Italy called Capo Comino.

The yacht's design comes from Francesco Paszkowski , with interiors in collaboration with Margherita Casprini , and features the series'  distinctive sporty silhouette culminating in a generous bow area and elegantly tapered aft decks, with the owner opting for a sandy-beige coloured hull. 

Layout changes on the new sub-500GT superyacht include an upper deck exclusively arranged for the owner's use, with the captain's cabin sitting on the main deck to make space for this change. The main deck forward also plays host to a gym and games room with side-opening balcony. 

The remaining guest accommodation comprises four en suite cabins on the lower deck.

"The S501 series has proven tremendously popular with our international clients," said Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa's sales manager. "This success is largely due to our flexibility in accommodating customer requests, even with a series model, which is evident in Rilassata’ s unusual interior layout."

This delivery comes at a busy time for Tankoa, as the boutique Italian yard has a further seven units in build. Tankoa recently celebrated the launch of its 58-metre custom build Diamond Binta and the delivery of the first unit in its T450 series, christened Go .

Weather in St. Pete

Always keep in mind the weather when planning your yacht rental experience. St. Petersburg is an ideal location for a yacht charter, either while on vacation or “staycation” because of the wonderful weather patterns. Located just above the tropical divide, the winters range in the 70°s and summers in the 90°s, so there's no wrong time to visit. While it may rain frequently in St. Pete, the storms are almost always scattered and very short in duration, oftentimes only lasting a few minutes and then the sun is shining again. If you're traveling to St. Pete in the cooler months of the year, be sure to pack some layers to wear while on your yachting trip, especially if you plan to go yachting in the evening. Motor yacht OLOKUN is the third hull of the S501 series, built by the Italian shipyard TANKOA YACHTS and launched in early autumn 2020. The yacht measures 49.99m (164'0") and was designed by Francesco Paszkowski with naval architecture from Name Studio and interior décor by Casa Dio Miami/London.

VIDEO OF THE LAUNCH OF SUPERYACHT OLOKUN EXTERIOR The black semi-displacement hull and metallic grey superstructure have a special coating that reduces the hull temperature by up to 10°C/50°F. The exterior layout is expected to be similar to her sisterships, which have the following: The main deck aft features sofa seating and tables for casual dining and lounging shaded by the upper deck overhang. Sunbeds are placed along the stern where guests can rest with uninterrupted views. Two stairways lead down to the lower deck, where a fold-down swim platform provides a large space for sunbathing beside the water. The upper deck aft has an alfresco dining table in the centre of the shade, with sofas lining the stern and drinks tables for outdoor dining in the fresh sea air. The foredeck area has a C-shaped sofa and table for alfresco dining while enjoying the forward views. The sundeck has sun loungers along the stern and forward sunbeds with a Jacuzzi attached. The central area has a wet bar and an alfresco dining table in the centre, and the hardtop has openable sections to let the sunshine stream down. INTERIOR The lower deck features a side-loading tender garage and a spacious beach club aft. On the main deck, the Master suite is forward and has fold-down terraces, which are also a feature of the forward main deck section. The main salon is aft, and the dining area is placed on the upper deck.  OLOKUN Specifications

A pair of MTU 8V 4000 M54 Diesel engines give a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. At 11 knots, M/Y OLOKUN has a range of 4,500 nautical miles.

Yacht Accommodation

The accommodation layout and capacity has yet to be revealed by the shipyard, however it is believed she has a similar layout to her sisterships, which have a 5-6 cabin layout to sleep 10-12 guests, and a crew of 9. The Master suite has a private study that can be converted into an additional en-suite cabin.

Touring Tankoa’s 72m/236ft SOLO at the Monaco Yacht Show, the team at YachtCharterFleet got up close and personal with this award-winning charter yacht to discover what makes her so truly unique.

After a grand unveiling in Monaco’s Port Hercules in 2018, SOLO has continued to make waves with her show-stopping interiors, veritable eco-credentials and extensive selection of on-board amenities.

Born out of the desire to break new ground in eco-friendly yachting, Tankoa designed SOLO to be their most fuel-efficient and low-emission superyacht yet. Such a modern and environmentally-conscious approach ultimately paid off as the yacht has picked up a series of awards since being delivered.

The exterior of superyacht SOLO comes courtesy of revered design firm Francesco Paszkowski, in conjunction with naval architecture by Studio Ruggiero. Melding form with function, the sharp lines and deft curves have created a profile which is symbolic of the yacht’s outstanding efficiency.

Exuding breathtaking elegance and sophistication, SOLO is well-suited to the discerning superyacht charter guest. Francesco Paszkowski has collaborated with interior designer Margherita Casprini to create a timeless and opulent on-board energy which is gently balanced by warmth and comfort, from the exterior deck areas to the interior guest living areas.

Stepping onto the main deck aft, guests are greeted by an alfresco living space complete with a six-metre infinity pool and chic seating area.

The innovative design choices on board SOLO begin here, with sliding doors into the interior located to port, rather than positioned centrally - a setup that enhances the privacy of the exterior deck. As guests step indoors and discover the main salon and winter garden-style social area, they are given their first glimpse of the awe-inspiring interior.

The winter garden is located aft, and volunteers a crescent of sofas, floor-to-ceiling windows and black forest marble flooring which subtly contrasts with a backlit bar composed of solid white onyx.

The space functions as a relaxation area or a simple extension of the main salon, which can be found forward.

SOLO’s main salon has a glossy, polished finish which is achieved through faintly-veined cappuccino marble.

Invitingly laid-out, SOLO’s main salon has a glossy, polished finish which is achieved through faintly-veined cappuccino marble and wooden surfaces brushed with satin-finish Macassar ebony. However, the cold surfaces are smoothly countered by soft textures and homely furnishings.

While suitably spacious, the salon manages to retain a level of intimacy thanks to the home cinema screen and excess of plush seating, from the deep corner sofa to the teal-blue Fendi Casa accent chairs. The inky black of the walls is accentuated by jets of lights, while geometric sculptures balanced on the bookshelves add complexity and dimension to the space.

Providing the perfect setting for dignified meals, a formal dining area is situated further forward. The set-up features a custom-built glass table, complete with a gold-encrusted centrepiece, as well as an impressive aquarium stretching out across the beam of the yacht.

Flanked by huge windows, the dining area is bathed in natural light during the day, with an overhead light fixture composed of tiny mirrored tiles illuminating the scene by night.

Embracing comfort and conviviality, the upper deck salon provides an attractive alternative to the main salon. Vast sofas, rows of backlit books and a 90-inch 4K OLED television above an electric fireplace designates this as the relaxation pad.

Setting SOLO apart from many other charter yachts of a similar size is her Owner's apartment, which is located on the flydeck and provides a private haven away from the rest of the guest accommodation.

Paszkowski and Casprini have opted for more minimalistic themes in the owner’s suite to ensure attention is not distracted from the vistas provided by the 180-degree glazing This excess of glass, both in the walls and skylights overhead, allows light and air to bathe the room, leaving the charterer feeling connected with the world outside.

Primed for any on-board business that needs to take place, a study adjoins the suite directly aft, with a lofty dressing room and en suite located to starboard. Port-side, there is a relaxation room where the principal charter guests can retreat for a moment of peace and tranquility after a long day on the water.

Adding to the motor yacht’s appeal, this relaxation room can be transformed into an additional cabin for surplus guests. It enjoys an adjoining bathroom, and is ideal for children as it allows parents to sleep in close proximity to them.

All situated on the main deck, the remaining five cabins on board  SOLO are each finished in a similarly refreshing style with tall windows to allow for premium views.  Made up of two doubles, two twins and one VIP, the overall configuration lends itself nicely to groups of both families and friends.

The VIP cabin is positioned furthest forward, and it has adopted an L-shaped layout to maximise space and create a fluid living arrangement. A homely feeling is achieved through artworks on the wall and soft champagne-coloured suede coating the floor and a portion of the wall.

A leather stool stands at the foot of the bed, while gleaming, dark-hued walls and mirrored ceiling panels replicate the same dramatic effect of the main salon.

Finally, the double and twin cabins embody an enlivening blend of silver tones contrasted by almond-coloured accents.

Dedicated ensuite facilities feature a monochromatic colour palette, and television screens artfully ingrained into the walls ensure that guests can kick back at the end of the day and enjoy some light entertainment from the comfort and privacy of their cabin.

For additional staff such as nannies or bodyguards, a beauty room on the upper deck can be transformed into a cabin, proving once again that SOLO is a charter yacht which places emphasis on convenience and flexibility.

Located at sea level on the lower deck aft, SOLO volunteers an inviting selection of wellness facilities. Guests can unwind in the Hamman, which is clad in Calacatta marble imported from Tuscany, or retreat to the sauna, which boasts reclaimed wood salvaged from a medieval castle in Finland.

A wide corner sofa dominates the room, opposite an indented recess which hosts a widescreen television. Since the space benefits from unobstructed views over the water, the beach club can be enjoyed by the entire charter party whether they wish to lounge on the sofa or take a dip in the ocean.

Although SOLO grabs attention with her many alluring leisure facilities, she is in fact a highly technologically advanced superyacht. What’s more, the area benefits from a selection of seating areas that make the perfect backdrop to after-dinner aperitifs. Twin wraparound sofas are situated aft, while a charming pair of cocktail tables are positioned forward.
