The 256-foot Tatiana is one of the best yachts to come out of Turkey ever.

Standing on Tatiana ’s vast main deck next to the pool—just one of three on board—it’s hard to imagine that Bilgin Yachts in Turkey was building boats out of wood up until 2014. In fact, the owner’s two previous yachts, sharing the same name, were constructed from mahogany and epoxy.

But his latest 262-foot superyacht , which was launched in 2020 but made its public debut at last month’s Monaco Yacht Show, has no trace of sawdust and resin. Built of steel and aluminum in a state-of-the-art facility, it has an internal volume of 1,689 gross tons—more than twice that of Bilgin’s previous flagship.

Tatiana ’s graceful silhouette, long overhangs and sweeping sheerline by Unique Yacht Design seem to hark back to the classic yachts of yesteryear. The design could have been wider and chunkier to increase interior volume, but the owner was more interested in elegant lines and a “sleek and sexy profile while avoiding a high dosage of design clichés.”

The shipyard approached UK-based H2 Design, a long-term design partner, to translate the owner’s brief into “comfortable, luxurious yet usable interiors.” With chartering also in mind, timeless understatement is the dominant theme of the interior design. The result is a modern, detailed residential look for a home away from home feel.

“The owner is an extremely family-oriented man who loves to socialize with his family and friends and spends months on end in the summer on his yacht,” Jonny Horsfield, founder of H2 Design, told me during a tour at the Monaco show. “He’s been been involved in the industry for years, so he knew exactly what he likes and doesn’t like.”

Horsfield singles out the beach club on the lower deck as “the epicenter of the yacht”—and it’s not hard to see why. When under way, access is from the main salon via a grand central staircase of polished mahogany and white Carrara marble. At anchor, when the transom door is raised and the two side platforms deployed, the area covers nearly 1,200 square feet.

The centerpiece is a 30-foot long, freshwater swimming pool. Skylights set into the floor of the second pool on the main deck mean the beach club is bathed in dappled light even when the shell doors are closed (during transit the water can be drained and stored in a heated tank). After dusk, optic fibers integrated into the deck twinkle like nighttime constellations. A hammam, massage room and wet bar with a backlit floor of brilliant blue agate complete the spa facilities.

With four ensuite guest cabins, three VIP suites, a dedicated owner’s deck and private office on bridge deck, gym and cinema room, Tatiana represents a new benchmark for Turkish-built yachts and can easily compete with Italian equivalents in terms of quality, comfort and attention to detail. In the cinema room on the lower deck, for example, extra insulation was added not so much to block noise and vibration from the nearby engine room, but to prevent sound from escaping into the gym next door.

Tatiana ’s technical specifications similarly leave nothing to be desired. The shipyard deliberately delayed the keel laying to wait for new and more stringent regulations from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) governing emissions in North American and U.S. Caribbean waters. This led to installing a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust treatment system that ensures high engine power and efficiency while reducing harmful NOx emissions.

“The catalytic converters take up as much space as the MTU engines, which meant a bigger engine room than usual,” says Berkay Yilmaz, Bilgin commercial director. “But we took the decision to have them installed anyway because they represent added value for the owner by future-proofing his investment.”

Tatiana is the first in a limited series of sisterships based on the same technical platform that will see Bilgin launch a second yacht, already sold, next year and a third in 2023.

When guests arrive on the main deck aft, they can either choose to continue forward in the interior salon or to explore the alfresco experience of the main deck aft. Interior designing TATIANA was H2 Yacht Design. H2 Yacht Design was established back in 1994 and not only specializes in interior yacht design but has worked in the exteriors of other superyachts.

H2 Yacht Design is based in London, prides itself on a rich experience regarding architecture, and is always committed to tailoring to its client’s preferences.

Their expert team always ensures clients that every element and detail is considered. They also have different services such as CAD drawings, conceptual proposals, and On-site supervision.

Aboard the TATIANA yacht is a plethora of amenities and entertainment-related equipment.

Guests can indulge themselves in a relaxing day on the yacht with her large swimming pool, mega jacuzzi, beach club, steam room, spa room, sauna, full-blown gym, exercise equipment, full air conditioning, and has wifi.

There are also tons of toys guests can play around with, such as the 7.5-meter Tender Boat, jet skis, sea bobs, wakeboard, electric surfboard, inflatable kayak, and even diving snorkeling equipment.

She can readily accommodate 12 up o 16 guests at a time by utilizing her eight staterooms and can be attended to by 21 to 24 qualified crew members when venturing out to sea.

Specifications

TATIANA was built with a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure. She has an overall length of 80 meters or 262 feet, a beam of 12.2 meters or 40 feet, and a maximum draught of 3.5 meters or 11.6 feet.

Powering this 80-meter superyacht are two diesel-type MTU engines that output 5250 horsepower.

These massive engines enable the TATIANA yacht to be 12 knots and a maximum speed of 19 knots.

Her enormous fuel capacity of 155,000 liters, and water capacity of 45,000 liters, allow her to cover distances of 5000 nautical miles.

Exteriorly designing the TATIANA yacht is Unique Yacht Design, a company that has worked with several superyachts since their conception in 2010.

They have worked in yachts’ exteriors such as Blaundus B30-2, the Kasif, Snow 5 (Ex Lilium), and Lion Spirit, a 57.28-meter vessel capable of going to speeds of up to 17 knots.

The 80-metre Bilgin Yachts Tatiana is the first of three 80-metre Bilgin 263 superyachts to be built by the Turkish yard. The 1,670 GT vessel which springs from the drawing boards of Unique Yacht Design with interiors by H2.

With eco-friendly elements built into the core of the vessel’s design, motor yacht Tatiana was built in accordance with the latest IMO Tier III standards and comes fitted with a special exhaust system for “100% clean air emissions,” according to her builder.

Tatiana’s contemporary layout incorporates generous living areas, with a huge spa and a beach club located on the aft deck. Accommodation is offered for up to 12 guests across eight staterooms, including an owner’s cabin on its own dedicated deck, four additional guest staterooms located on the main deck and one guest stateroom (as well as two crew cabins) on the lower deck. Guests are looked after by a 25 person strong crew.

Jonny Horsfield explains the concept behind Tatiana's interior design: "If we speak about Tatiana, the theme of the interior is based on a light but rich palette while the design is definitely crisp and contemporary in fee. The design can be described as layers of luxury modern. We wanted to achieve an open, airy feel for a clean, sleek look. So the best option was to use light and textured luxury materials. With her sharp, crisp interior lines giving that feel of modernity, we made extensive use of a contrasting combination of rich Macassar veneer and a light eucalyptus, while a book match pattern and gloss finish give a luxurious feel.This is combined with plenty of marble and touches of detail such as backlight marble, 3D carved stone, and strong textures."

One standout area on board Tatiana can be found in her aft deck beach club. As the epicentre of the yacht, it is directly connected to the main saloon via a staircase and comes complete with a 9-metre swimming pool (with skylights allowing in ample natural light) as well as a wealth of amenities, including a bar, sunbeds, hammam and a massage room.

Guests can make the most of a plethora of amenities on board Tatiana, including her fully-equipped gym with sauna on the portside lower deck as well as a large movie theatre. Ideally set up for both work and play, Tatiana also comes complete with a private office on the bridge deck and a skylounge which is themed as a sports bar.

In addition to her generous beach club – which is connected to the main saloon and offers ample space to host social gatherings – Tatiana also comes stocked with a variety of tenders and toys on the front deck to enable guests to truly make the most of their time on the water.

Brand new 80m superyacht TATIANA joins the charter fleet

Available in the Mediterranean this summer and open for Caribbean yacht charters this winter, the 80m (262ft) luxury yacht TATIANA is the latest addition to the global charter fleet.

Launched in February by Bilgin, TATIANA is the world’s largest Turkish-built superyacht, and is one of the largest yacht launches of 2020 so far.

A host of amenities make her a superb charter platform, with accommodation for up to 12 guests in eight cabins.

Stand-out features include a cinema suite, spa with sauna facilities and an impressive swimming pool in the beach club, adjoined by a spacious swim platform.

Guests on charter vacation will love the yacht’s beach club, which is home to a swimming pool and large fold-down balconies on both sides of the beam.

The yacht’s interiors come courtesy of H2 Yacht Design, and they are refreshing and contemporary with plenty of rich textures including Macassar ebony, marble and eucalyptus wood.

Guests on a private yacht charter will love the yacht’s beach club, which is home to a swimming pool, bar, and lounge space with large fold down balconies on both sides of the beam, as well as a steam room, massage room and fully equipped gym.

The beach club provides direct access to the main salon, an innovative feature that sets TATIANA apart from the rest.

The yacht's interiors are refreshing and contemporary with plenty of rich textures including Macassar ebony, marble and eucalyptus wood.

Alongside her elegant interiors, the motor yacht has plenty of alfresco deck space where guests can soak up the sun or watch the world float by. Her upper deck volunteers a chic dining set-up, while the sundeck offers a large jacuzzi and variety of seating options where the charter party can get together and enjoy the space to the fullest.

Her accommodation is configured as follows; a private Owner’s deck, two VIP staterooms, four double cabins and a twin cabin. There is an additional cabin forward of the Owner’s suite, which is perfect for those chartering with children.

The yacht will be available across the Mediterranean this summer, cruising in all the most desirable destinations; from the happening hotspots to the quiet coastlines.

She will then be available in the Caribbean. Her cruising regions include the Bahamas , which is the ultimate destination for a Social Distancing Yacht Charter . Endless blue sea and hundreds of soft sandy beaches are just waiting to be explored across this tropical paradise.

Luxury yacht TATIANA will also be available in Cuba , a destination which is off-the-beaten-path for superyachts. Here, you can expect pastel-colored buildings, vintage cars and a truly authentic vacation experience.
