The Benagil Cave Cruise is one of the most beautiful natural cathedrals on the planet. The Michelin Guide considered Benagil Cave to be the 15th most beautiful cave in the world. Windows also found a way to honour this beautiful cave, using a photo to create a screensaver.

Benagil Cave is located on the Algarve coastline and is famous for the dramatic hole in the ceiling that allows the sunlight to pierce through and shine on the beach inside the cave.

Benagil Cave is only accessible from the sea. There are many Benagil cave cruises and boat trips available, but we choose this option as the best, here is why:

This is a private yacht charter tour to Benagil Cave.

The Trip is on a luxury Sunseeker Yacht.

As a private Yacht you can see many of the highlights of the coastline between Vilamoura and Benagil. If you prefer to stop and swim a while, then you can do so, the schedule can be flexed to the weather and sea conditions unlike many mixed boat charters.

The sea conditions can some times prevent ALL boats from getting close to the coastline, this option is the best because the main boat is a very stable 53´foot motor cruiser, they also have a smaller inflatable RIB, Paddle board and snorkelling gear so there is something for the entire family.

The Benagil Cave Cruise can be flexible to your schedule but often the best time to go is in the morning as the sea is calmer. We can do a regular Benagil Private Charter on a 4 hour schedule, this will give us time to see the coastline around Galé and Albufeira, cruise to Benagil Cave and return. We will have time to stop to swim and snorkel.

We can also offer an extended version of the trip which will stop for lunch at a wonderful restaurant on the beach, For the complete full day Benagil Experience we can be totally flexible with the departure times if booked in advance.

Which are the best Yacht Charter areas in Portugal?

When planning your vacation in Portugal its important to get your bearings geographically and think regionally, or as an alternative book a yachting vacation and spend a week discovering the coastline by boat. For simplicity’s sake we can divide Portugal into the well-known destinations such as: Porto Lisbon The Algarve Madeira and The Açores

The area between Lisbon and Porto is commonly known as the Silver Coast, From Troia (south of Lisbon) the Blue Coast then stretches down through Alentejo to meet with the Algarve Coast.

Lisbon and Porto are both located on famous rivers and as such can offer ocean cruises or cruises exploring the rivers. In Lisbon we have the Tagus River which has its origins in the mountains of the Sistema Ibérico, Spain. (It is actually the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula stretching over 1000km). Likewise, Porto is situated on a river with its origins in Spain (Soria Province) – The Douro, an impressive 900km River with 15 dams that provides irrigation for agriculture and hydro power enroute to the ocean. The Douro region itself is world renowned for the wines and of course Port wine. These rivers can both be explored by boat.

Is the Algarve the best destination for Yacht Charters?

The Algarve region of Portugal which occupies the southern strip of land on the Portuguese coast is home to over 100 beaches and some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. The Algarve stretches 155km from the border of Spain to the European mainland’s most westerly point, Cabo da Roca. The coastline in the Algarve, particularly between the Ria Formosa and Lagos is the hotspot for yacht charters and boat trips. There was 8 of us took the boat on a full day charter from Elite Charters Vilamoura the office staff were very helpful we had a fantastic day out on the water the skipper was the best part of the trip super friendly and made us feel like we had known him got years big shout out to Tiago by fair the best Yacht Charter in the Marina. Fantastic cruises tailored to your needs just speak to Camila who is extremely helpful , friendly and are there to assist if needed. They are online or give them a call to book as they are very popular. Now the crew, Paulo, Edwardo and Chris are three of the nicest knowledgable people I've met. They are amazing at what they do they make you feel safe and are happy to provide the best experience and show you the best parts of the algarve. Edwardo is a fantastic driver/captain and I have always requested him. I have had great experiences over the years, from the speed boat gnarly to the luxury yacht majestic and I have only ever booked with these guys for my excursions. I have to be honest if you just tell them what your wishes are they will do their best to ensure it happens. They have different excursions for all needs and the prices vary no it's not cheap but it's well worth it, memories are priceless and this experience is something you can cherish forever. It's all about the service and warm welcoming staff and crew. They rate 10/10 for me and my whole family. Thank you all and see you next summer.

We booked (for a second time) with Elite Charters. It was a birthday treat for my wife and we want with our 3 daughters (14 yrs to 24 yrs old). It rained all afternoon and yet it was a 5 start trip. We went on the Sunseeker 'Majestic'. The captain and crew were fantastic. By the time we'd drank a few bottles of the free champagne, seen a pod of dolphins (which the captain went our of his way to find) and all jumped off the boat to swim in the coves; we couldn't have cared less about the one cloud in the sky ha ha ha! Fabulous value, latest music, great hospitality and unlimited drinks.

We booked this in advance for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Paid 50% up front and the remainder on the night. The boat was a real treat cruising to the Caves and back. The champagne kept flowing and the staff, Paulo and Victor were the perfect hosts. If you want to use the ringo or swim you really need to book this for longer than the 2 hr cruise otherwise it would feel too rushed.

With different kinds of activities, we are proud to say that we are generating great memories for almost 40 years.

In the beginning we were one of the first companies in the Algarve doing these cruises along the coastline. Teaching people how to sail. Our love for the ocean was what kept operating until today! It was always a passion of ours the activity of sailing which allows a direct contact with nature, feeling the breeze, enjoying the sound of the waves through the boat. There is nothing like the feeling of peace while our mind flows with the sound of the sea.

Our CEO started the business with a small Yacht after winning some national championships in different classes of sailing boats. At first we were only able to have small groups who wanted to learn and feel exactly what sailing is about. A few years later, our CEO became a boat builder, and the company started to grow. We built a Catamaran with a larger capacity, 2 Sailing Yachts and now we also have a Power Boat specially made for dolphin search. Our motivation remains the same, to provide our guests a perfect day at the sea, while comfortably enjoying the rocky landscape and the unique beaches Algarve has to offer.

This boat was specially made for day charter purpose considering our type of weather and the different activities that are done on it.

Cruises to Benagil and beach BBQ cruises. This boat has toilet, bar service, Wi-fi, a big net on the front and about 40 sits on the shade.

The MATRIX Power was designed especially for dolphin search and for a better look at the marvelous coastline with plenty of fun! If you are looking for a great cruise with the biggest speedboat from the Marina of Albufeira, book this one!
