The 40m/131'3" 'Aristarchos' sail yacht built by shipyard Nautor's Swan is available for charter for up to 8 guests in 3 cabins. This yacht features interior styling by Rhoades Young.

Offering an enticing combination of luxury and adventure, Aristarchos has all the bells and whistles and a wealth of convivial social spaces for the ultimate sun-kissed yacht charter getaway.

Guest Accommodation

Built in 2006, Aristarchos offers guest accommodation for up to 8 guests in 3 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin and one twin cabin. There are 6 beds in total, including 2 king, 1 queen and 2 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you, notably Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to stay connected at all times, should you wish. You can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Performance & Range

Aristarchos is built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 14 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots with a range of up to 2,534 nautical miles from her 12,000 litre fuel tanks.

Aristarchos has a good selection of water toys and accessories to entertain you and your guests whilst on charter. Principle among these are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. Also there are wakeboards so guests can show off at speed. If that isn't enough Aristarchos also features fishing equipment, inflatable water toys, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment. Aristarchos features two tenders, but leading the pack is a 5.5m/18'1" Castoldi Jet Tender to transport you in style.

Built in Finland in 2006 by Nautor’s Swan, and designed by German Frers, ARISTARCHOS is the largest yacht ever built by the acclaimed sailing yacht builder and boasts sleek looks and impressive performance credentials when under sail. She is a true head turner with her jet-black hull, teak decks and sweeping views.

When stepping on board ARISTARCHOS, her impressive spaces – both inside and outside – are immediately apparent, creating a feeling of grandeur but still with an element of privacy. Sweeping decks offer plenty of space to relax or enjoy the thrill of traveling under sail. A shaded cockpit includes seating and a table for al fresco dining.

Her elegant interior by design house Rhoades Young features luxurious materials including leather and walnut and subtle marine-themed elements. The raised saloon is a spectacular space, flooded with natural light, which offers panoramic views. The saloon features a large dining area, relaxed seating, a games table, bar and much more to create an inviting space that is perfect to retreat to after a busy day on the water.

The master suite has two king-sized beds, one to port and one to starboard, two walk-in closets, a dressing and office table and ensuite.

            14 a/c/ fan coils were replaced with new. All a/c air-ducting pipes were replaced with new

            A+ Rigging: a full Level a Visual rigging inspection including check of mast jack pressure December 2020

            Next rigging inspection – done 2022

            Mast was pulled out by A+ Rigging.

            All the rigging rods and fittings are fabricated new from BSI.

            All the halyards new from Mallorca after being spliced at the ends.

            The 54m carbon mast, the boom, spreaders and boom-vang were painted with Awlgrip (snow white 2000) by Professional Paintworks.

            Both Reckmann hydraulic furlings were sent to Reckmann for service.

            The sails were sent to Kafetzidakis Sails for washing maintenance and storage.

            The hydraulic crane for the Castoldi boat was overhauled, the motor and the 3 hydraulic cylinders were serviced.

            All 6 hydraulic cylinders from the rigging were overhauled and serviced.

            Both JP3 rudders were pulled out for service.

            All the 24 sea valves were replaced. New elastic sea pipes installed.

            Upgraded the electronic controls for the main engines and generators.

            A new induction stove and new grill were installed in the galley.

            All the air conditioning system, fan coils, air handlers, and air ducting were cleaned and sanitized/

The 39.9-metre Swan sailing yacht Aristarchos, listed for sale with Dimitris Kalafatis at Flagship Yachts along with Vassilis Fotilas and Georges Bourgoignie of Fraser , has had a €1,000,000 reduction in asking price, indicating "a very clear intent of the owners' commitment to sell."

Built in GRP by Finnish yard Nautor Swan to a design by German Frers , she was delivered in 2006 as the largest yacht ever built by the yard and was most recently refitted in 2020. The yacht's interior is by Rhoades Young and eight guests are accommodated in three cabins, with a full-beam master suite that boasts two double beds, plus a VIP suite and a twin cabin.

Aristarchos features large sweeping decks coupled with a shaded cockpit for al fresco dining at anchor, while a twin helm and winches are positioned aft. Flush teak decks give way to a raised saloon that fills the leather and walnut-themed interior with natural light.

Following a series of extensive refits, Aristarchos is in sail-away condition and ready for her next adventure. Her "Panamax" Southern Spars carbon fibre mast, boom, spreaders, and boom-vang were repainted and are under a thorough maintenance program. Aristarchos ' 15-year special BV class survey was completed in 2021.

Under power, twin 480hp Caterpillar diesel engines push the 185GT yacht for sale to a cruising speed of 12 knots topping out at 13.5 knots. Still the largest Swan built to date, Aristarchos has been owned by a single owner since new (his third Swan) and also has an "enviable charter record", according to Fraser.

Aristarchos is now asking €7,500,000 with VAT paid.

Karpovka River

This river flows along the Petrograd Side and divides the Petrogradsky and Aptekarsky Islands. The most attractive stretch of the Karpovka runs between the St. John of Rila Convent and the St. Petersburg Botanical Garden . Here the curving, leafy granite embankments provide a perfect setting for several excellent examples of the Northern Moderne for which the Petrograd Side is famous.

The name of the river dates back to the earliest years of the city and beyond. It is the result of the mispronunciation of the Finnish word "Korpiyoki" which means "river in the woods" or "crow-river." Some, however, associated the name of the river with carp that once swam here, but this is unlikely as the Karpovka River was very silted until the middle of the 20th century and had constantly crumbling banks. It was not until 1960-1970 that the shore was partly reinforced with granite embankments.

There are several interesting building along the banks of the Karpovka River. The most famous is the St. John of Rila Convent. It was founded in 1900 by the widely revered priest St. John of Kronstadt. The ornate neo-Byzantine building was designed by the great church architect Nikolay Nikonov. John of Kronstadt is himself buried here, and pilgrims from around the world have flocked to visit his grave for over one hundred years.

On Karpovka Embankment at no. 13, the curved concrete building set back from the river is the First Residential Building of the Leningrad Sovier. Built in 1931-1935 by the well-known Soviet architects Ivan Fomin and Evgeny Levinson it was one the last and best works of constructivism in the city. Unlike previous constructivist housing developments it was built for the Bolshevik elite, which meant that hight quality building materials were used, and the large and luxuriously fitted apartments are still considered highly desirable. At the beginning of the 18th century, the wooden mansion of Theophan Prokopovich stood on the left bank of Karpovka at no. 4. Prokopovich was an influential Russian Bishop and an associate of Peter the Great who helped the Tsar reform the Orthodox Church. A great promoter of education who believed that ignorance and superstition were the greatest evils, Prokopovich established a school for "orphans of all ranks" in his house. In 1835, the house became the Ss. Peter and Paul Hospital, which eventually grew into the St. Petersburg State Medical University. On the right bank of the river opposite the hospital is the Botanical Garden.

Seven bridges currently stretch across the Karpovka River, the oldest of which are the Aptekarsky and Silin Bridges. The Aptekarsky Bridge was built in 1798 and rebuilt in 1974. Its current width is 96 meters, making it the second widest bridge in St. Petersburg after the Blue Bridge. The Silin bridge was built of wood in 1776. In 1936, a modern single-span concrete bridge was built in its place. Pleasure boats do not sail along the Karpovka, but it is possible to charter a boat for the trip.
