New Fiat 500 Riva edition is "smallest yacht in the world"

Fiat has announced a new special edition 500 in collaboration with yacht-maker riva.

Fiat has teamed up with luxury yacht manufacturer Riva to create a special edition of the retro 500 . The new model supposedly combines the exquisite style of Riva yachts, with the dinky dimensions of the diminutive city car.

The Fiat 500 Riva includes many accents that have been inspired by Riva yachts, including a unique paint used known as Sera blue, a double aquamarine line running around the middle of the car, and brand new 16-inch alloy wheels. Chrome plating has been used to further enhance the visual link between the two; with the mirror caps, door handles and bonnet trim all getting a mirror-finish.

The interior has also been changed to fit the Riva theme, with Sera blue featuring again on the sides of the ivory leather seats and on the edges of the ivory coloured seatbelts. The most notable change to the interior is the introduction of premium quality wood as used by Riva. Mahogany and Maple, for example, have been used to carve a new dashboard, while the gear knob has been carved out of solid Mahogany. Riva has made sure to stamp its name on this special edition of the 500, with a logo on the bonnet badges inside and out.

The final unique option – only available to the initial 500 customers of the main European markets – is a numbered badge just behind the handbrake, which can be personalised at the customer’s request.

The Fiat 500 Riva will be available with the familiar Fiat engines, ranging from the 900c TwinAir petrol producing either 84bhp or 104bhp , up to the 95bhp 1.3-litre diesel. All cars get a manual gearbox as standard, while an automatic option is offered as an option on some models. Fiat 500 and 500C convertible versions are available, with the convertible’s roof being an exclusive blue only available on this edition.

The Fiat 500 Riva is now available to order in all markets, including the UK.

Riva and Fiat team up on limited edition Fiat 500 Riva

Iconic Italian yacht builder Riva has teamed up with fellow Italian car manufacturer Fiat to unveil a limited edition version of the popular Fiat 500. The new model was revealed by Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi during a ceremony in Sarnico at which the new Rivamare superyacht tender was also launched .

Inspired by the Aquariva yacht, the Fiat 500 Riva is available as a hatchback or convertible and is finished in Sera Blue – a colourway unique to the limited edition car and one of the most popular hull colours for the Aquariva Super. The convertible also has an exclusive blue soft top while the hatchback is finished with a panoramic roof mimicking the unparalleled views offered by a Riva yacht.

However, it is the interior of the limited edition Fiat 500 Riva that really sets it apart from the rest of the line. The dashboard is finished in the same hand-painted mahogany with maple inlay that Riva owners know and love and features both the Fiat and Riva logos. The doorsills and gear stick are also carved from a solid piece of mahogany while the seats are trimmed in luxurious ivory leather from yacht interior design brand Poltrona Frau. The first 500 cars will also feature a numbered badge which can be personalised by the owner.

The Fiat 500 Riva also comes with all the bells and whistles one would expect of the luxury yacht maker including climate control, parking sensors and a seven-inch screen displaying Fiat’s HD Uconnect live services, Bluetooth calls, music streaming and voice recognition – this can also be upgraded to include 3D sat nav.

The Fiat 500 Riva will be available from the end of August with an exact price yet to be announced.

New Fiat 500 Offshore: Big Hit in Miami

The real hit of the Miami show last week wasn’t the 278-foot, $129 million superyacht Victorious . It was the 15-foot, $122,000 Fiat 500 Offshore, making its U.S. debut.

Made in Italy by Car Off-Shore and Fiat, the new car-like tender was launched there last summer (pictured above). The idea was to replicate the look and lines of the iconic Fiat 500, one of the most-recognized European vehicles ever. Fiat described the boat as the “500 of the seas.” The boats were shown in Miami by 1 Ocean Yachts Group.

The Fiat 500 Offshore is not mass produced like its land-based namesake. Only 500 will be made. The 100-hp Mercury outboard can be painted to match the color of the boat, so can the fender covers. The 500 comes with a bilge pump, front and rear LED lights, fog lights, a Sky leather throttle, four seats, a digital dash, audio system, and optional Sunshade canopy.

The car-boat weighs 1,212 pounds and carries just 18 gallons of fuel and 11 gallons of fresh water, so you don’t wander too far offshore. But it certainly looks like you’ll have a lot of fun, even close to shore.

Fiat 500X Yachting has a cloth sunroof and real wood trim

Only 500 of this yacht-inspired special edition will be sold, and it won't come to the US.

A few months ago rumors started swirling around that Fiat would be introducing a convertible version of its 500X crossover, and we we were obviously skeptical -- a droptop version of an already niche compact crossover just didn't seem likely. Well, it turns out the rumor wasn't that far off, as Fiat just introduced a new special edition with a roll-back cloth sunroof in Europe called the 500X Yachting. 

The 500X Yachting is the result of a partnership with the Yacht Club Capri, which is apparently one of the most prestigious sailing clubs in Italy. The centerpiece of the new model is that cloth roof, and while it doesn't roll all the way back and include the window like on the 500C , it offers a much more open roof than the standard 500X's panoramic sunroof. Fiat says the cloth roof can open or close in just a few seconds at the press of a button.

Every 500X Yachting will be painted in a special Blu Venezia hue with a dual-lined ivory and blue pinstripe encircling the body. The unique 18-inch wheels get a two-tone finish with blue accents, and the door handles, mirrors and other trim pieces are chrome. It wouldn't be a special edition without unique badges, so the Yachting gets a "Yachting" script at the base of the A-pillars and Yacht Club Capri badges on the B-pillars and the hatch. The cloth roof is made from blue fabric, too.

Honestly, every crossover needs a roof like this.

On the inside the Yachting has white upholstery with blue piping, and the door cards, headliner and floor mat edges are matching white as well. The Yachting's dashboard and shift knob are made from mahogany wood, and the center console has textured silver trim with a Yacht Club Capri badge. Rounding out the Yachting's design touches are aluminum doorsill plates and a color-matched key fob.

Only 500 units of the 500X Yachting will be produced, and it will only be sold in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. That's kind of a shame, as the 500X is the sole car that Fiat sells in the US in 2021 and a special edition like this could bring at least a little bit of interest back to the model. There's good news if you want an SUV with a cloth roof, though: a similar roll-back cloth sunroof is available on the 2021 Land Rover Defender .

From Land to Sea: Stellantis Launches Fiat 500 Boat

NAPLES — Italian boat manufacturer Car Off-Shore and automotive powerhouse Stellantis unveiled the ‘Car 500 Off-Shore,’ a one-of-a-kind, limited edition boat inspired by the iconic Fiat 500. Dubbed the “500 of the seas”, the boat was developed by Fiat, in a deal brokered by its exclusive licensing representative IMG.

Created by 24-year-old Italian creator and entrepreneur  Antonio Pietro Maria Galasso, the 4.7 meters long boat combines the car’s advanced technology and functionality to create a unique and safe sailing experience. The boat is a true reflection of excellent Italian craftsmanship, invoking Fiat 500’s elegant design and rich heritage to provide an innovative new way to navigate the seas. ‘Car 500 Off-Shore’ is now available for purchase, with production limited to 500 numbered units. 

In a written address at the boat’s launch event, Italy’s Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, said, “A real novelty in the Italian and international nautical scene, this product combines all the elements of the  Made in Italy  that have made our products famous throughout the world: innovation, craftsmanship and taste. The nautical sector is one of the most dynamic segments of the Italian economy and Italy, with a market share of 50%, continues to be the international reference for the production of yachts and pleasure crafts.”

The ‘Car 500 Off-Shore’ is the latest addition to Fiat’s robust licensing programme developed by the company and licensing giant IMG. From apparel and swimwear to toys and kitchen appliances, the diverse range of consumer products provides new avenues for Fiat enthusiasts to embody the brand’s values and its well-loved  Dolce Vita  spirit.

2022 Fiat 500X gets Yacht Club Capri special edition

Could be a healthy price increase on the way as well.

Fifteen years ago, Fiat released a product roadmap identifying 10 new models to appear between 2007 and 2010 that would join seven extant models across Europe and the U.S. Today, Fiat's home market of Italy only sells five models, three of them versions of the 500, and the U.S. has just one, the 500X . As for that model, it sold 1,443 units here in 2020; based on the 980 sales through the end of September this year, Fiat won't even reach that abysmal mark. Yet the show must go on, so Fiat's got two touches of flair in store for the 2022 500X. Starting small, there will be an "Al-Fresco" retractable fabric roof available for all trims. To ensure the sprezzatura a 500X driver demands, the top can be had in four colors , three of them being black, gray, or red. 

The last color, blue, is reserved for the bigger news: A new Yacht Club Capri trim, a special edition model that is also blue. The model is named for the island of Capri, not far from Naples, Italy, and the numerous yachts that stop in there. Based on the penultimate Sport trim, it comes awash in Venenzia blue paint and sits on 18-inch wheels with Venezia blue accents outside, and gets Yacht Club Capri badging. Inside, Ivory leather seats with blue piping face an instrument panel with a woodgrain insert and shift lever given a satin finish. In other markets this same model is known as the Yachting Collector's Edition and is also available on the two-door all-electric 500, the build allotment limited to 500 numbered units. Fiat didn't mention limited production for the U.S.

Every 500X is powered by a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 177 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque sending power to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic.

Fiat hasn't officially released pricing, but based on information found on auto pricing sites, it appears the automaker could have a $680 price increase in mind. Fiat says the current four trims will carry over, Pop, Trekking, Sport, and Trekking Plus. According to the info we found, only three are priced so far. Tentative pricing for 2022, including the whopping $1,495 destination charge, is:

• Pop: $28,120
• Trekking: $29,255
• Sport: $30,110

The Surprisingly Still Alive 2022 Fiat 500X Debuts New Yacht Club Capri Special Edition

Fiat sells many cars in Europe, especially the popular 500X . However, the automaker usually performs poorly in the United States, selling less than 1,000 cars this year. Of course, it doesn’t help that the automaker has drastically limited its U.S. lineup to a single model: the 500X.

A Stellantis press release welcomes the latest model with the debut of a new Yacht Club Capri special edition trim. Why is the Fiat 500X still around, and what’s new for 2022?

A brief history of the Fiat 500X

The Fiat 500X was originally released in 2014, but it wouldn’t debut in the U.S. until its 2016 model year. Although it has the same underpinnings as a Jeep Renegade, it’s intended to be more of a stylish commuter vehicle. It was available with either a turbocharged or naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine upon release, as well as optional AWD.

According to Kelley Blue Book , a new 2016 Fiat 500X was priced around $21,000 for the base trim. That’s an average price for the segment, though it only came with a handful of standard features. The 2021 Fiat 500X costs a little over $26,000, but at least that now includes standard smartphone integration.

The subcompact SUV class has boomed in recent years, which is likely the only reason the 500X is still here in the States. It’s also hard to find one in the segment that offers a turbocharged engine and AWD. However, the Fiat 500X is still panned by American critics, who cite its horrible drive quality and uncomfortable seats.

The latest Fiat 500X now only has one engine option, a turbocharged four-cylinder capable of 177 horsepower. It’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and makes an estimated 30 mpg combined city/highway rating. AWD comes standard, complete with three drive modes that provide more traction in hazardous conditions.

The Fiat 500X has four trims, each slightly different from the rest. For example, the Trekking model has silver exterior accents, while the Sport trim features Alcantara seat inserts. Four kinds of upholstery are on offer, including premium ivory-colored leather.

All models come standard with smartphone integration and a 7-inch touchscreen. Stellantis boasts that the newest Uconnect system has been tweaked to allow for faster startup times, higher resolution, and more processing power. Higher trims also feature a premium Beats audio system with a subwoofer, and up to 75 safety features are available.

For 2022, drivers can have a retractable fabric roof with four color options. The Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri special edition model is the only one that can have a blue fabric roof. This model is only available in Venezia Blue and includes 18-inch sport wheels, a satin-robed gearshift, and a faux-woodgrain dash.

A look back at some forgotten Fiat models

In Europe, Fiat currently carries eight models, some of which used to be sold in the States. The Fiat 500, a slimmer and underpowered version of the 500X, only recently left us in 2019. The Fiat 500L, described as a “compact minivan,” only had six years on our side of the globe. There was also the Fiat 500e, though it wasn’t available nationwide. It was never a big hit due to its slow powertrain (maxing out at 111 horsepower) and subpar electric driving range (155 miles).

The Fiat 124 Spider was only available in the U.S. from 2017 to 2020. While it had fun handling and a decently peppy engine, it only produced around 164 hp and couldn’t keep up with rival sports cars. Some Fiat SUVs never even made it stateside, including the cutesy Panda.

The Tipo sedan has been relatively popular since its release in 2015, and the Doblo van is currently in its second generation. Sadly, it’s already hard enough for the 500X to establish its place in the United States. As such, we may never see another Fiat vehicle get a stateside release, even with the Yacht Club Capri’s appeal.

Bist du eher der extrovertierte Typ? Schaust du weniger auf Inhalte und dafür mehr aufs Äußere? Dann solltest du dir vielleicht den jüngsten Spross der 500X-Familie von Fiat ansehen: Den Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri (Kraftstoffverbrauch kombiniert: 6,4 l/100 km; CO2-Emissionen kombiniert: 148 g/km)².

Dieses in "Venezia blu mettallizzato" lackierte Exemplar des mittlerweile seit gut acht Jahren auf dem Markt befindlichen 500X ist der neueste Schrei der Italiener. Dank offizieller Kooperation mit dem Yacht Club der attraktiven Urlaubsinsel Capri darf er mehrere silbrige Badges samt dessen Logo tragen. Blau lackierte Felgen, weiße Zierstreifen, eine Lederausstattung in "Bianco" und eine Holzvertäfelung runden für jeden Connaisseur italienischen Lifestyles den Ausflug gen Süden ab. Und wem das noch nicht reicht, der öffnet das blaue Stoffverdeck, das auch den Hinterbänklern auf über einem Meter Länge den Blick in den hoffentlich blauen Himmel gewährt.

Beamt von Groß-Gerau nach Capri in unter fünf Sekunden

Eine Erfahrung für nüchterne Naturen, die auch bei 30 Grad nur mit Socken und Sandalen an den Strand gehen, ist der 500X Yacht Club Capri damit nicht. Er möchte die Seele berühren, möchte auch in Groß-Gerau einen Tagtraum in das Land handgemachter Spaghetti, Olio di Oliva und der Autostrada del Sole zaubern, möchte die Sonne ins Herz lassen. Klar, er möchte dabei auch noch von A nach B bringen, aber das stand, so scheint es, eher an nachrangiger Position im Lastenheft.

Nicht, dass wir behaupten wollten, wir wären von seinen Alltagsqualitäten enttäuscht gewesen. Doch gibt es ein paar Eigenheiten, die man wissen sollte, wenn man sich dem 500X Yacht Club Capri nähert. Der nach unverbindlicher Preisempfehlung immerhin 30.490 Euro kostet - mindestens.

Das Salz in der Suppe

Zunächst: Zündschlüssel. Also so einer mit Bart, den man tatsächlich auch nutzen muss. Den gibt es, wenn man nicht das X-Tech-Paket inklusive Keyless-Entry-and-Start (550 Euro) bestellt - das kennen wir bisher nur noch aus dem Hause Dacia. Man blickt auf analoge Instrumente und das sehr zügige, aber dennoch in die Jahre gekommene Uconnect-Multimediasystem bietet einen recht mageren 7-Zoll-Bildschirm. Zwar gibt es Apple CarPlay, dessen Darstellung wird aber dann auf etwa die Hälfte des verfügbaren Displays zusammengeschrumpft. Kein Vergleich zum heutigen Touchdisplay-Standard anderer Hersteller.

Fahrassistenten sucht man mit Ausnahme von Tempolimitanzeige, Abstandsradar und Totwinkelkontrolle ebenfalls vergebens. Man könnte jenes Fernleben von jeglichem automobilen Standard anno 2022 nun rügen, man könnte es aber auch sympathisch finden. Denn der Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri ist ein Auto, in das man sich einfach reinsetzt und losfährt. Ohne erstmal sämtliche technische Jammerlappen ausschalten zu müssen, die einem jeglichen Spaß am Fahren zu nehmen in der Lage sind. Zudem entfällt das Studium der Bedienungsanleitung, um am Ende gerade einmal die Klimaanlage bedienen zu können.

Ambitionierter Motor, veraltetes Getriebe

Apropos Fahrspaß: Der kann tatsächlich aufkommen. Die 1,3-Liter Firefly-Maschine im Testwagen ist eine alte Bekannte und treibt dank 150 PS den relativ leichten 500X flink vorwärts, bleibt aber mit einem Durchschnittsverbrauch von rund 6,7 Liter auf 100 Kilometer den mittlerweile üblichen Trinksitten fern. Gehemmt wird die Spritzigkeit außerdem durch das alternativlose Sechsgang-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe, dem die Italiener auf wundersame Weise das Schaltverhalten eines 30 Jahre alten Wandlers anerzogen haben: Langsame Schaltvorgänge, zögerliche Umsetzung von Schaltbefehlen und unnötig langes Halten niedriger Gänge rauben dem Antrieb viel Potential - von einem drehzahlschonenden weiteren Gang für die Autobahn völlig abgesehen. Der Sportmodus, den man gerne mit dem Knopf der gemächlich ansprechenden Sitzheizung (wer braucht die auch auf Capri?) verwechseln kann, macht es auch nicht besser.

Das Fahrwerk ist hingegen ausgewogen abgestimmt und macht vor allem auf der Autobahn eine gute Figur - auf schlechten Straßen in der Stadt und auf dem Lande wird es hingegen ab und an etwas arg holprig. Forsch bewegt, schiebt der 500X früh über die Vorderräder und teilt dem Fahrer mit ordentlicher Seitenneigung mit, dass man die Kurve auch mit gemäßigter Geschwindigkeit hätte anfahren können. Die Lenkung spricht direkt an und macht so vor allem in der Stadt und auf der Landstraße viel Laune - auf der Autostrada hingegen wäre ein wenig mehr Indifferenz und damit mehr Gelassenheit von Vorteil.

Würden wir den Fiat 500X Yacht Club Capri kaufen? Ja. Würden wir ihn unseren Freunden empfehlen? Ja, unter der Bedingung, dass es Feingeister mit dem Hang zur italienischen Lebensart sind. Denn den braucht man, um über gewisse Unzulänglichkeiten leichter hinwegsehen zu können. Diese hat die Konkurrenz für einen ähnlichen Preis mittlerweile ausgemerzt, tritt aber dafür lange nicht so emotional auf. Das ist der große Pluspunkt des 500X. History of Novosibirsk Oblast

Over thousands of years, the territory of the Novosibirsk region, due to its location on the border of natural zones and cultural regions (the Siberian taiga and the Eurasian steppe), played the role of a buffer zone or border zone of different peoples.

In the 13th-15th centuries, this land was the eastern outskirts of the Golden Horde. Later, until the end of the 16th century, it was part of the Siberian Khanate. In the 18th century, the territory of the present Novosibirsk region became part of the Russian Empire.

Despite the relatively favorable climate, the Russians began to settle here relatively late. The Barabin Tatars were the indigenous people. Today, their total population is about 10,000 people living mainly in the western parts of the region.

The Barabin Tatars were subjected to constant attacks of the Kalmyks (the Oyrates and Teleuts). Russian villages were also under the threat. That’s why people preferred to settle in the north, near Tomsk. Only at the end of the 17th century, Novosibirsk province became attractive to settlers.

The first settlement was founded by the boyar son Alexey Kruglik in 1695. Later, this settlement became the village of Kruglikovo. Today, it is located in Bolotninsky district. In the early 18th century, Berdsky stockaded town was built. Over time, the threat from the nomads decreased and the number of settlers increased.

In 1722, the Siberian line of fortresses along the Irtysh River was constructed. The locals were mainly engaged in soil tilling, fishing and hunting. In the early 19th century, the famous Ural manufacturer Akinfiy Demidov constructed two copper melting plants here - Kolyvansky and Barnaulsky.

In 1893, due to the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway and the railway bridge across the Ob River, Alexandrovsky settlement was built (from 1895 - Novonikolayevsky). Thanks to its convenient geographical location (the Trans-Siberian Railway crossing the Ob River, transportation ways connecting Siberia with the European part of the Russian Empire), its trade importance grew rapidly. In 1909, Novonikolayevsk became a town. In 1925, it was renamed in Novosibirsk.

Before 1921, the territory of Novosibirsk oblast was part of Tomsk gubernia, from 1921 to 1925 - of Novonikolayevsk gubernia, from 1925 to 1930 - of Siberian krai, from 1930 to 1937 - of West Siberian krai. September 28, 1937, West Siberian krai was divided into Novosibirsk oblast and Altay krai. This date is considered the official date of the region formation.

Novosibirsk Oblast is located in the south east of the East-Siberian Plain, in the steppe, forest-steppe and taiga zones, between the Ob and the Irtysh rivers. The length of the region from west to east - 642 km, from north to south - 444 km.

The southern part of Vasyugan swamp, the largest swamp in the world, occupies the territory in the north and north-west of the province. In the southwest, it borders with Pavlodar oblast of Kazakhstan.

There are about 3,000 lakes on the territory of the Novosibirsk region. The largest lakes are Chany, Ubinskoye, Sartlan. Novosibirsk Reservoir also known as “the Ob Sea” (1,082 sq. km.) was created for Novosibirsk Hydroelectric Power Plant.

The climate is continental. The average temperature in January ranges from minus 16 degrees Celsius in the south and minus 20 degrees Celsius in the north. The average temperature in July - plus 18-20 degrees Celsius.

The largest cities and towns are Novosibirsk (1,621,000), Berdsk (103,500), Iskitim (54,700), Kuybishev (43,000). Novosibirsk is one the largest industrial, transport, scientific, and cultural center of Russia, the third most populous city in the country after Moscow and St. Petersburg. It is also the capital of the Siberian Federal District.

In the historical part of Novosibirsk you can find a lot of preserved monuments of the Russian Empire times. The Soviet era is presented by numerous scientific and cultural attractions, as well as beautiful parks.

There are more than 500 deposits of various mineral resources in Novosibirsk Oblast (coal, refractory clay, peat, anthracite). Natural gas and oil fields are located in the north-western part of the region. There are significant reserves of underground thermal and mineral waters. Forests cover about 4 million hectares, more than 20% of the territory.

Novosibirsk Oblast is one of the most industrially developed regions in Siberia (metal processing and machine building, food, power engineering, non-ferrous metallurgy industries). Heavy industries are concentrated in Novosibirsk, Iskitim and Berdsk.

The regional agriculture specializes in the cultivation of grain, potatoes and vegetables. Dairy cattle breeding, poultry farming and beekeeping are developed. The production of flax plays an important role too. Agricultural development of the territory is not high (about 48%). In general, it has about 25% of all agricultural land in Western Siberia.
