We’ve been giving you plenty of LEGO Star Wars excitement of late, and now we’re switching it up to shine a light on an upcoming addition to the LEGO Technic lineup, the 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht , which has been revealed by the company in celebration of the Americas Cup. This kit will be sailing right alongside its LEGO Star Wars counterparts to its August release date, letting builders and fans alike re-create the AC75 Yacht, the current holder, in scaled Technic format. Get more details alongside a closer look with more images down below.
For those who may not know, The Americas Cup is the oldest international competition still operating in any sport, and its great to see LEGO explore more niche sports outside the usual norms of wheel-based vehicles. Preliminaries for the 2024 Cup will begin August 22, 2024 with the actual competition kicking off on October 12, so it’s quite fitting that the LEGO 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht will release on August 1 at $119.99 shipped , just in time to make great gifts or mementos for hardcore fans.
Stacking up to 962 pieces, this is quite a sizable build at 27 inches tall by 12.5 inches wide by 22 inches long. It’s a beautiful replica too, mimicking the real racing yacht’s efficient shape and smooth color pattern quite well, and I’m sure the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and sailing enthusiasts would agree.
And of course it comes with features to add that Technic touch to the finished model, with pneumatic functions that pump the hydrofoil arms up and down, plus controls to rotate the sails all supported by its own rigging system, true to its original’s design. It’s quite a stunning build set in these pictures, with the two especially gorgeous sails reaching high above the rest of the body, complete with authentic and accurate sponsors/branding.
Enjoy more images below, and keep an eye out for an update on pre-order availability.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga multiplayer: is it co-op?
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga trophy : get all 46
The Lego Star Wars : The Skywalker Saga ships are a fun part of its huge scope. While most of your time will be spent traveling across planets from the Star Wars universe, there are several instances where you'll find yourself taking to the skies and fighting against other starships.
As Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga acts somewhat like a museum dedicated to everything from the franchise, it houses a ton of the most known, as well as the less known space-faring vehicles. Thankfully, you can also fly many of these yourself, in different ways as well.
From a mini-version of a TIE Fighter, to the iconic X-Wing, or even the Death Star, here's the full list of ships in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
These are the standard spacefaring vehicles that you'll use whenever you are off-world. These are used during space combat segments, which appear at several points throughout the game.
Capital Ships are big ships that you can use as your own battle stations. You can unlock these by seizing them from those who control them.
Micro Ships are fun "pocket-sized" vehicles that can accompany you outside of space travel. These are earned by collecting all five mini-kits in a level. Here's a list of what's available:
That's every vehicle that's included in the game at launch. While nothing has been confirmed yet, it's also possible that we will see more added in the future with DLC and post-launch support, so stay tuned!

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga may have made waves for its massive roster of over 300 characters, but the game also includes a wide assortment of unlockable starships. There's little doubt that The Skywalker Saga is developer TT Games' largest title yet, and inclusions like dozens of ships contribute to this scale. Ships spanning the prequels, sequels, original trilogy, and TV shows are included, with players given ample opportunity to explore the galaxy with ships of both the light and dark sides of the Force.
Starships in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are unlocked just like characters. Some become available in free play after the first time they are piloted in story mode, while others need to be unlocked by paying studs. This allows players to pilot ships that feature in Star Wars films but aren't flown by protagonists, as well as a few inclusions from outside the main trilogies. Overall, the game includes something for everyone, from iconic, recognizable vessels to deep cuts for enfranchised fans.

In addition to the starships here and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga 's capital ships , the game contains nearly 50 micro-ships, which are unlocked through completing minikits and rideable in hub levels. The majority of ships, however, are used for exploration and space battles where players can attack and board capital ships. As is befitting a LEGO game, players can mix and match ships from across all three Star Wars trilogies, pitting Clone Wars-era starfighters against First Order ships and everything in between.
While non-film media like Star Wars: The Clone Wars greatly expanded the world of the Star Wars prequels, plenty of starships first debuted in these films. Jedi Starfighters and ships from Naboo appear alongside a light freighter designed to share similarities with the Millennium Falcon in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga , with a number unlocked by playing through The Phantom Menace , Attack of the Clones , and Revenge of the Sith . Others are unlocked via open-world exploration, and will require players to complete side missions.
While the several Republic's ships are freighters or transports, Separatist ships are solely designed for war - gunships and fighters built to fight the Republic's sizable fleets. These ships all made their first major appearances in Episode II and Episode III , largely piloted by forces of droids. The Vulture Droid even blurs the line between droid and ship. The ships of the Star Wars prequel trilogy's iconic villains are also found in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga .
Starships from A New Hope , The Empire Strikes Back , and Return of the Jedi are some of Star Wars ' most iconic vehicles, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has classics in spades. The Millennium Falcon and the X-wing are found alongside the CR90 Corvette - the first Star Wars ship to ever grace the screen - and the variety of fighters presents the image of a scrappy underdog fleet. Also present is the Ghost, the main ship from Star Wars Rebels - though its crew of important characters is missing from LEGO Skywalker Saga .

Original trilogy starships that can be unlocked by playing the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga 's main story include Luke Skywalker's X-wing, the Millennium Falcon, and the normal T-70 X-wing. Others, such as the Ghost and B-wing, are unlocked by exploring the galaxy. Although not a starship, the iconic Snowspeeders from The Empire Strikes Back are also playable during one of the early missions from that particular episode.
While the Rebel Alliance's ships take on the role of underdogs in the original Star Wars trilogy, the Galactic Empire's fleets are a far more uniform and imposing foe. The Empire is meant to feel like a massive, overwhelming force against which nobody can prevail - making the Rebels all the more compelling. TIE Fighters and their earlier iterations are present in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga , as are Imperial shuttles and transports. These ships helped define the aesthetic of the Empire, and later the First Order - and their depictions in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are movie-accurate .
30 years after the original trilogy, the First Order was meant to rekindle the dying Galactic Empire. As such, its ships are modeled after those of its predecessor from the original films - new versions of TIE fighters and Imperial shuttles to combat the New Republic and the Resistance. The aesthetic emulation is eventually matched by the First Order's dominance, and the fleets of uniform TIE-style ships once again crack down on freedom all across the galaxy - even if LEGO Star Wars ' dark side is more likable than in the films.
If the First Order is an attempt at recapturing the glory of factions past, then the Resistance is more of an evolution. Resistance ships still maintain the variety that indicates a cobbled-together fleet, and further supplements it with stolen vessels like the Bestoon Legacy. Of course, the most iconic ships are still present in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga , with the Resistance not only utilizing Han Solo's Millennium Falcon, but also new and updated versions of the X-wing and A-wing.
Related: Will LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga Get DLC Beyond Character Packs
As with the other starship vehicles in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga , many of the Resistance's ships are unlocked simply by playing through the story, including the new version of the Millennium Falcon as well as Poe Dameron's Black One. Tallie Lintra's A-wing is unlocked after playing the opening level of The Last Jedi , while others, such as the Fortitude, are made available for purchase after completing the Second Breakfast puzzle on Ajan Kloss.
Bounty hunters play a significant role in Star Wars - one that's been further magnified by The Book of Boba Fett (a Boba Fett show set is in Skywalker Saga too). A few bounty hunter ships are in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga , though they make up only a small fraction of the total pilotable ships in the game. No DLC has been announced that would add more ships, though this roster may grow with future downloadable releases.
Not every Star Wars starship fits neatly into the franchise's main factions, but many of these inclusions are iconic or play significant roles in the films. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga does differentiate between the Trade Federation and the Separatists, providing a second vulture droid and a shuttle from Episode I . Additionally unlockable is the Razor's Crest, Din Djarin's ship from The Mandalorian - and the show's titular character appears in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga DLC alongside Baby Yoda.
