Welcome Aboard

We have enjoyed sharing our love of sailing with thousands of people over the years through our charter business. Many families return each summer to sail with us and we're always happy to be one of their Vineyard traditions – folks of  all ages, from babies to great-grandparents, enjoy sailing with us. We also love hosting the local businesses that choose to sail with us for their annual staff parties.

We have been honored to host a number of small, intimate wedding ceremonies full of love aboard our ships over the years, as well as  ceremonies for scattering the ashes of loved ones at sea.

We're fortunate to be able to have donated many charters over the years to causes such as the Possible Dreams Auction and Chilmark Preschool and Elementary School Fundraisers here on Martha's Vineyard, and The Children's Trust in Boston, and  feel privileged to have been a part of the Vineyard sailing community for the past 30 years.

Our sailing season is from May through October, and we offer both one-way and round-trip sails in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Sunset is a favorite!

We're moored in Vineyard Haven Harbor and love to sail to all harbors throughout the Cape & Islands.

Captain Pascal was the perfect host for our honeymoon sunset sail. He has stories to tell, is knowledgeable about the area, and made sure the sail was exactly how we wanted it to be. The boat is beautiful and clean and we felt comfortable and safe the whole time. He brought us a fresh sliced fruit and cheese platter that was as delicious as it was beautifully prepared. Sail Anytime

Private classic yacht day charter, vineyard haven, martha's vineyard, the experience.

Enjoy a private sail around the harbor and take in views that those on land envy. You have the opportunity to make this experience unique. For those who are adventurous; take watch at the helm, handle the lines and learn about the history of this beautiful yacht. For those who prefer to relax; lounge on the forward deck or dangle your legs over the side as we glide through the water. 

Light hors d'oeuvres are provided along with non-alcoholic beverages.  We have a cork screw... feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverages.

Good Ship Anytime

Anytime is a 1972 Hinckley Bermuda 40 Mk III Yawl. The Hinckley Bermuda 40 is often affectionately referred to as "B-40" and, at almost 50 years old, she still remains a head turner to this day. 

Anytime comfortably accommodates six guests in the in the padded cockpit which is accompanied by a center table to dine around. Once underway, guests have full access to the deck and are encouraged to dangle their feet over the side as we glide through the water.  

The Captain & Crew

Over 70 years of experience...

Walt has been sailing for over 50 years. In his early years he developed a love for sailing as he explored the Chesapeake Bay. In 2004 Walt purchased his dream vessel, a Hinckley Bermuda 40 named  Anytime . For the last 19 years he has been crusing aboard  Anytime chasing favorable weather along the  eastern seaboard. Walt is a licensed Merchant Marine Captain and during his career as a seaman he has made safety an ultimate priority. 

Jan has been sailing for over 25 years and has spent most of the last 16 years aboard Anytime. Prior to joining the Anytime t eam, Jan captained a 40 foot Joshua, named Samos. 

Both Jan and Walt take pride in creating a memorable experience for their guests. They love sailing and consider themselves lucky to be able to share the incredible experience with their guest. 

Reserve Your Private Charter

Up to six guests depart on a three hour private sail around Vineyard Haven harbor and the Sound aboard a classic Hinckley Bermuda 40. Take in views of East Chop Lighthouse and surrounding scenery as you enjoy the relaxing sound of the waves. 

We do everything that we can to make this as special as possible. You have the opportunity to make this experience unique. For those who are adventurous; take watch at the helm, handle the lines and learn about the history of this beautiful yacht. For those who prefer to relax; lounge on the forward deck or dangle your legs over the side as we glide through the water.

Spectacular Sailing in Newport, RI Aboard our 36' Catalina Sailing Yacht

Our sail with David was great! Even though we had light winds, we still covered a lot of ground. David is very capable and knowledgeable, and he also knows a lot about the area and the maritime region. The boat is in very good condition and very roomy. We ended up with 4 guests and were very comfortable. We expect to sail again with David in the future.

A beautiful evening that far exceeded our expectations. Dave was a fantastic captain and host giving us a relaxing and memorable experience on our sunset cruise. Bottle of wine, lovely snacks and the boat was pristine. Don’t think twice about adding this to your itinerary for a spectacular evening.

Newport RI: Private sailing, sighting-seeing and swimming with Capt Eric

Eric and his boat were outstanding! This was a highlight of our Newport vacation. My family (wife, daughters in their 20s) went sailing for 3-4 hours. Eric pointed out lots of famous sites and told us the history of Newport harbor. He let my daughter sail most of time (she's an experienced sailor). I highly recommend Eric!

The trip was perfect. Steve was great host, guide and captain. The communication was great, the boat was the perfect size for our group and the tour into the Bay was amazing. I can't wait to do it again when we're next on the island.

Custom Sailing Charter - Newport/ Block Island

Captain Candace, Captain Don and Stephanie were an absolute delight to work with from start to finish. Capt. Candace was very easy to communicate with and worked to accommodate our age diverse group. Great directions and instructions as to how to find the boat, the boat was in pristine condition and VERY comfortable accommodations for our sail. Captain Don and Stephanie were very clear about safety first at all times, very knowledgable sailers and wonderful tour guides and historians when the wind was not working with us. We could not have asked for anything more - the boat and the crew are top notch. We hope to have the opportunity to sail with Candace and crew again. Our sailing experience was the highlight of our trip to Newport.

Had an absolutely great experience with Bill! So nice, professional, and knowledgeable of the area. He made the trip a great time. Would book with him again 10/10 times

Ever been to Cuttyhunk? Most haven't, (including Vineyarders). It's the Cape and Islands' best kept secret. You'll find out why when you get there. Accessible only by boat to those with the means and determination.  And what better way, more traditional (and romantic), to preserve such a treasure island than to get there by sail? And what better sailboat ride than aboard the highly evolved, finely tuned "MT-105?" We work in harmony with the elements; with the environment; with clean and quiet, renewable wind power; 

using the wind ......but not using it up. Instead of island hopping, however, if the wind is right and the sailing perfect, (as is so often the case), why not take advantage of the moment and just keep on sailing for the afternoon? Who needs Cuttyhunk? (We'll catch it next time around.) We can be as spontaneous as you want and we are as flexible as our schedule allows.

For the more adventurous we provide longer, more exposed ocean sailing around the "Head," (outside Aquinnah), past Nomans and eastward along the South Shore. Circumnavigate Martha's Vineyard and/or, (sailing through Wood’s Hole), the Elizabeth islands. 

Sail to Nantucket for dinner and a night out on the town. Roam the cobblestone, then, for a taste of "cruising life," crash aboard the elegant "MT-105"  in snug, historically acclaimed harbor, waking up to blueberry pancakes hot off the grill before sailing back to Menemsha.

Sail Vineyard Sound, Nantucket Sound, Buzzards Bay or sleigh ride the sweet ground swells of the Atlantic Ocean by moonlight. (Talk about somethin’ to talk about!)

Launched in 1963,  Saudade was constructed to the highest standards of the day.  Saudade’s name, Portuguese for a "profound sense of nostalgia or longing," was given to her on launching.  She spent her early days in England and then in Lisbon where her first owner's mistress resided.  In many ways she represents one of the last of her kind. Within a few years the classic wooden ocean racing yawl, pioneered by Olin Stevens in 1929, would give way to more modern hull shapes made of fiberglass.   She spent the 70s and 80s in the Mediterranean, finally making her way across the Atlantic to the Caribbean and New England.  When I found Saudade in 2017 she was on her way to dereliction in one of Key West’s grungier boat yards. She has been lovingly restored, and is now ready for chartering.

The best!! We have been using MV Baby Rent (formerly Bear Baby) for years. We travel with children from Texas so we count on renting cribs, strollers, high chairs, beach tents, umbrellas... everything, this year they even had bed rail for our toddler! They are always quality products, clean, affordable and delivered on time. It's a no brainer if you're traveling with children.

I recently used Bear Baby Equipment and had a great experience. I got a pack and play and a swing and both were clean and arrived on time. The owners are very nice and responsive. It was so great to not have to travel with these big items and I will definitely use them again. Strong recommendation!

Just a huge thanks to Alissa & MV Baby Rent for our 2nd year in a row of perfect service. You guys were flexible in letting me change my order at the last minute, and were really great about getting our products on time and in perfect condition. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for baby supplies or just beach supplies during your trip. So much easier than lugging all that stuff on the ferry or a flight.

Great option for Martha's Vineyard travel with children. The equipment in kept in good maintenance and very clean. They will deliver to the house and set up for you! Friendly staff and very accommodating.

Efficient as could be! Clean & up to date cribs, equipment, beach toys. Unlike post above, my interactions with office staff and drivers were indeed five star. Frankly, I have visited the island for 20 years and this is always been a reliable business. The reviewer of September 2016 is a bit mean-spirited.

Quite happy with this service and would readily recommend them! We called the day before we arrived (!); they had everything we needed delivered when they said they would. Items were exactly as advertised and in good shape, plus Alissa was a pleasure to coordinate with.

The rudest people I have ever dealt with. They messed up the dates I needed the crib and then literally reprimanded us for their mistake and then charged us extra ( again because THEY made an error). Do yourself a favor and bring whatever you can rather than use them! The epitome of unprofessional.

Hi Steven, Your baby used our equipment with no quality or cleanliness problem. The issue was a communication error. We disagree with you but ultimately, it doesn't matter who made the mistake. Unfortunately, you did not respond to our efforts to correct the situation. I know my staff and I were very frustrated with your lack of communication and I am sorry if that was apparent. We go out of our way to be accommodating and your baby enjoyed our service. I am not sure where the rudeness accusation comes from. I have reviewed the communications and my staff was kind, polite, communicative and accommodating. I forwarded you the emails with the dates clearly stated on your confirmation. We have been serving the Island for over 20 years and I am very sorry you felt the need to review us negatively on Yelp.

We needed both a crib for our home and car seat to pick up our daughter and grandson at Logan. The equipment was top quality and they delivered and set up everything for a very reasonable cost. Staff was friendly and accommodating - especially when weather became a factor in our off-island travel plans. Great service - would definitely use them again.
