Silicon Valley’s favorite Harvard dropout (sorry, Gates) has arrived in Panama at the same time as the “ Launchpad ” vessel he apparently purchased for around $300 million, after the Russian-commissioned megayacht was seized. Longer than an NFL football field, it’s still slightly smaller than Jeff Bezos’ own midlife crisis.

The super-secretive yachting community makes all this difficult to confirm but the video below from March gives an expert account of Zuck’s fancy birthday boat.

Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook bought 107 meter superyacht Ulysses

The founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg purchased an ultra-luxury yacht named “Ulysses” for $150 million in Monaco Yacht Show in September, which is normally listed at $195 million.

The yacht Ulysses has a private helicopter, a separate 24-meter tender boat, an extra 4x4 car and a motorcycle. Mark Zuckerberg, 10 th reachest person in the world with an estimated wealth of $75 billion, saw 107-meter yacht Ulysses at the yacht show in Monaco and bought the yacht later on without making any advertisement by a secret. Zuckerberg made a huge discount on the price of the yacht just because the yacht is for sale more than a year.  The estimated monthly cost of the yacht is $2 million.

Zuckerberg with his wife Priscilla Chan, who has been using the yacht Ulysses for the last five months, were seen in the Pacific lately.

Mark Zuckerberg purchased the yacht from Graeme Hart, a billionaire from New Zealand known for his strong passion for luxury yachts. Graeme Hart was born in 1955, worked as a bus driver and now has a fortune worth $8 billion. According to the Forbes 500 ranking, Hart, who owns the investment firm Rank Group, is the world’s 214th richest person.

Jeff Bezos, the 4th richest person in the world, has also a new boat under cosntruction. You can find news about it here: Jeff Bezos is constructing a 127-meter sailing yacht at Oceanco

The yacht Ulysses was built at the Kleven shipyard in Norway. The 107-meter Ulysses has a 24-meter tender vessel, a helicopter with its own hangar, ATVs and 4x4 vehicle. The ultra-luxury yacht can sail halfway around the world without refueling and is designed to endure the toughest weather conditions, including the arctic circles and the world’s hottest regions.

Ulysses can host up to 30 people in 15 private suits. The yacht has 43 crews and 20 rooms for crew members. It can reach a maximum speed of 15 knots.

Did Mark Zuckerberg Buy a $150 Million Yacht?

A turkish web site published, then deleted, a quickly-debunked story about facebook's chief executive officer., arturo garcia, published jan. 19, 2018.

About this rating

An English-language Turkish newspaper published — then quickly scrubbed — a 18 January 2018 story reporting that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had made an extravagant purchase in Monaco.

According to the report, which ran in the Hurriyet Daily News, Zuckerberg secretly bought the "super yacht," Ulysses , from a reclusive New Zealand businessman, Graeme Hart, for $150 million in October 2017.

Though the sale itself was first reported by news outlets, the buyer was not announced. However, shortly after the story was published it was quickly debunked by a spokesperson for Zuckerberg:

The reports related to Mark purchasing a yacht are completely inaccurate as he did not purchase a yacht.

The spokesperson later added:

Mark did not buy it, does not own a yacht and was not involved in the sale.

But instead of updating or correcting its original reporting, the Hurriyet Daily News instead deleted it. However, some web sites continue to feature posts stating that the sale went through.

We contacted both Facebook and the Daily News seeking comment.

Keeping up with the Bezoses: Mark Zuckerberg buys a super yacht, reports say

M ar. 21—Given that Mark Zuckerberg enjoys a respectable 16th place on a list of the world's richest people, he probably figured it was time for him to acquire one of the ultimate status symbols for the mega-wealthy — a super yacht.

A new report from The Sun said that Zuckerberg is now the proud owner of a $300 million vessel that he has christened "Launchpad." The 387-foot-long vessel, which comes with a helipad and a $30 million companion boat, was seen docked this week at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with its unique chrome finish reflecting in the sun.

This purchase shows, among other things, that the Facebook and Meta founder and CEO has branched out from buying islands and building an underground complex to help him survive the apocalypse. Perhaps, he wants to cruise the Mediterranean this summer and be among the moguls who can play host to Leonardo DiCaprio.

The yacht definitely grants him admission to the watery playgrounds of such multibillionaires as Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates and any of the Russian oligarchs who haven't been the target of sanctions imposed by the United States or its allies over Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

In fact, Zuckerberg reportedly came by Launchpad due to the misfortunes of one of those oligarchs. The yacht originally was commissioned to be built by Vladimir Potanin, one of Russia's richest men who is on multiple sanctions list, according to a report by Autoevolution.com , a transportation industry site. The yacht was known as Project 1010, and the shipbuilder in the Netherlands was legally barred from delivering it to Potanin when it was completed in 2022, though Autoevolution also said that Potanin was not the yacht's actual owner.

It's not known when or how Zuckerberg acquired the yacht. Autoevolution reported that he had been seen at the Feadship shipyard in the Netherlands in December, showing "a clear interest in Project 1010."

The Sun reported that the yacht recently received "special permission" to be imported. It has since arrived in the United States, a couple months ahead of Zuckerberg's 40th birthday on May 14 — which raises the question of whether he meant Launchpad as a birthday gift to himself.

It's quite a gift: Launchpad can comfortably fit 24 guests aboard. It also requires a crew of 48 and is said to cost $30 million a year for upkeep and usage, according to Superyachtfan.com . But shelling out $30 million for maintenance a year shouldn't be a problem for Zuckerberg, who reportedly earns between $6 million and $12 million a day, The Sun said.

But as spectacular as Launchpad sounds, super yacht fans might say it's not as spectacular as Jeff Bezos's super yacht, Koru. The $500 million sailing vessel features very tall masts, a swimming pool, a helipad and room for a second, smaller yacht. The most noteworthy thing about Koru is that Bezos commissioned a special sculpture to decorate its prow. It's a "curvaceous winged goddess" that is said to bear a striking resemblance to his fiancee Lauren Sanchez.

The Amazon founder, his wife-to-be and the goddess figurehead spent much of last summer sailing around the Mediterranean, cruising from Spain to Croatia and hosting such famous guests as Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Usher. The couple also threw a lavish engagement party off the coast of Positano on Italy's Amalfi coast, attended by another pack of famous friends, including Kris Jenner, Wendi Murdoch and, yes, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Following in the footsteps of Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg is said to have bought a $300 million superyacht and a $30 million support vessel in one go. Apt for the adventurous Facebook founder, the shadow vessel has a helipad, dive center & even a decompression chamber.

Meet the world’s $300 million superyacht Launchpad:

After much speculation, the 387-foot Feadship motor yacht Launchpad emerged as Zuckerberg’s launchpad into the world of shipowners. She can accommodate 24 guests who are serviced by a crew of 48. The exterior was designed by ace designer Espen Øino, while the interiors were brought to life by the French studio Zuretti. Launchpad’s most discerning feature is its stark blue hull and a red line across the waterline.

Ranking at number 45 among the largest yachts worldwide in terms of length, it is safe to presume the vessel would boast world-class amenities. There is an ample main deck, a swimming pool, and top-notch facilities worthy of Zuckerberg and his family. Images reveal a large helipad with a hangar on the upper deck. The yacht flaunts a glass observation lounge and a spacious beach club. On closer inspection of the photos, one notices the decks are flanked by circular seating pods, an alfresco dining area, and a bar. Maintaining the $300 million Launchpad Yacht would set Zuckerberg back by at least $30 million annually.

Will this duo beat Jeff Bezos’s Koru and Abeona superyachts?

Mark Zuckerberg and other centibillionaire Jeff Bezos have more in common than just their wealth; they both own a pair of stunning superyachts and their impressive support vessels. While Zuckerberg’s latest purchases are expensive, they still cannot match Koru, a $500 million schooner, with its $75 million support vessel, Abeona, trailing behind. Not only are these boats much larger (Koru is 416 feet, while Abeona is 246 feet), but they also cost nearly double that of Zuckerberg’s vessels.

Mark Zuckerberg has brought his brand new toys home to the United States. The Facebook founder, who is said to be the owner of a brand new megayacht built by Feadship, Launchpad and is expected to board the vessel soon, now that it’s successfully completed its maiden journey.

mark zuckerberg yacht price

The first reports about Zuckerberg’s desire to become a superyacht owner began making the rounds in late 2023 and were eventually confirmed at the beginning of March 2024 – though never officially so. Zuckerberg, one of the last centibillionaires to get into the super-exclusive club of megayacht owners, had finally joined the party after buying a new Feadship vessel, as well as an older shadow yacht to accompany it on its future travels.

The rumors were rooted in sightings of Zuckerberg in the Netherlands, where he’d asked for a private tour of Project 1010, a megayacht commissioned by Russian oligarch Vladimir Potanin before the latest round of international sanctions prompted by the Ruso-Ukrainian war. Since Feadship could no longer deliver the build after completion because Potanin’s name was included on those sanctions lists, it sought special permission from the government to sell it to a non-sanctioned individual.

That individual is Zuckerberg. With Project 1010, which he’s since renamed Launchpad, he also got Wingman (ex-Dapple), a superb and very competent shadow vessel built by Damen Yachting and previously owned by Valve founder Gabe Newell. The total cost of these new purchases is estimated at a combined $330 million – an insane fortune for normies and even multi-millionaires but a mere drop in Zuckerberg’s bucket.

The other day, Launchpad successfully completed its maiden journey from Europa, arriving in Port Everglades in Florida, according to superyacht vlogger eSysman Superyachts, who also happens to be one of the most reliable trade sources. Coincidence or not, Wingman is also in Florida at a nearby dock. While it’s still broadcasting until its old name of Dapple, chances are the two are getting ready for summer cruising with their new owner.

Neither Zuckerberg nor Feadship will ever put out a statement to confirm ownership, but the incoming summer season might render such a statement useless. If there’s one thing superyacht-owning one-percenters have in common with us mortals, it’s the desire to put their purchases to good use – which, in this particular case, means summer cruisin’ for Zuckerberg onboard Launchpad, with Wingman in tow.

If this happens, it won’t just confirm ownership but also offer a better look at this spectacular build, which, at 118 meters (387 feet) in total length and over 5,000 GT of interior volume, is the largest vessel to leave Feadship in the yard’s storied history. With an estimated value of $250 million to $300 million, it’s bound to be one of the most luxurious vessels out there, as well.

MARK Zuckerberg's $300 million super yacht has docked at Majorca and stunned fellow boat owners as it looms over a luxury marina.

New clips give a closer look of the Facebook billionaire's "birthday present" which has its own aircraft hangar and even a support boat.

Mark Zuckerberg's super yacht has docked at Majorca

The mega vessel, dubbed the Launchpad, reportedly docked last week at the Club de Mar in Palma, one of the island's most prestigious private marinas.

Also moored alongside the marina is the yacht 's support vessel, Wingman, estimated in $30million.

It is the Meta boss's first visit to the hols hotspot as he tried to sneak his new boats into Palma in secrecy, Majorca Daily Bulletin reports.

A fellow boat owner shared exclusive footage with The Sun showing the 387-foot-long yacht's navy blue steel hull glistening under the Majorcan sun.

He told The Sun: "It arrived on Thursday in silence, and over the last days we saw a lot of crew cleaning the outer hull and general maintenance.

"We see lots of big superyachts but this one is of the level unreal.

The super ship can reach 24 knots and is longer than 118 metres

This magnificent ship, valued at $300 million, was built by the prestigious Feadship shipyard in the Netherlands and delivered this year.

The Launchpad is longer than 118 metres and has a registered tonnage of more than five thousand tonnes.

It can accommodate 26 guests and a crew of 50 people.

The yacht's exquisite design, featuring a navy blue steel hull and a white aluminium superstructure, is the creation of Espen Oeino, a renowned firm in the maritime sector.

Luxurious and extensive onboard facilities include a cinema-theatre, beach club area, beauty centre, solarium on teak decks, and a helicopter.

The super ship can reach 24 knots and has innovative features like underwater lights and GPS anchoring.

It also boasts autonomy in maritime navigation.

The Launchpad's four diesel engines are a major contributor to its amazing speed and are necessary for lengthy trips like transatlantic journeys.

It differs from many modern yachts with this feature, which frequently prioritises different features.

Zuck had been eyeing up the ultra-lux vessel for a while, as he was seen touring the boat then known as Project 1010 during its construction in March.

Project 1010 made its maiden voyage from the Netherlands after receiving special permission to be imported just weeks ahead of Zuckerberg's birthday on May 14, raising questions about whether it could be a gift to mark the occasion.

The mega vessel is not far off the size of  Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos'  $500 million 417-foot tall mega yacht, Koru, which was spotted in the same state in November 2023.

The Abeona, his mega yacht's support vessel, a 264-foot garage to hold Bezos' luxury cars , private helicopter, and jet skis, was docked at a slip four miles away.

To put into perspective the additional costs Zuckerberg is looking at, Bezos reportedly bankrolled a $16,500 per week bill for Koru to stay at the port, part of the $25 million in annual costs the ship will rack up.

But cost is no object to 39-year-old Zuckerberg, as he was the youngest billionaire to make the top 10 wealthiest people in the world list.

In 2021, Zuckerberg was reportedly worth $108 billion, an amount that rose to $138.4 billion by January 2024.

Zuckerberg is hardly known for conserving his money when faced with large purchases.

'We're also celebrating his 70th birthday and it was really something to hear the grandkids (at least the ones old enough) take turns telling papa all the ways he is meaningful in their lives last night at dinner. Here's to many more.'

Zuckerberg's new 118m-long yacht is  thought to have not only its own aircraft hangar but also a support boat , called the Wingman, costing an estimated $30million (£24million).

The main vessel, constructed at the Feadship shipyard in the Netherlands, can accommodate 26 guests as well as 50 crew members.

Its features also include a beach club area, a beauty centre, a cinema-theatre blena and a helicopter.

Zuckerberg's wealth amounts to $187billion (£148billion), according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index.

He last month marked turning 40 by sharing rare photos of his family and friends on Instagram , as he told how his  wife Priscilla Chan 'recreated a bunch of places I lived in the early days'.

One of the pictures showed him sitting next to Bill Gates in a miniature version of the Harvard dorm where the Meta billionaire created Facebook.

Another image featured Zuckerberg with his daughters Maxima, 8, and six-year-old August, as he showed them around a recreation of his childhood bedroom where he learned to code.

He captioned an Instagram carousel of his newly-uploaded photos with the words: 'Grateful for my first 40 years!'

He also wrote: 'Grateful that people traveled from all around the world to celebrate with me.'

His company  Meta , which owns Facebook and Instagram , has seen its share price rise more than 50 per cent this year – adding $58.8billion (£46.5billion) to the owner's fortune.

That meant he overtook Elon Musk - owner of  Tesla and X, formerly Twitter  - who was pushed to fourth place in the world's richest people rankings.

A feud between the rival billionaires ramped up last year when Musk tweeted that Instagram makes people depressed.

He later said Meta-owned WhatsApp 'cannot be trusted' and challenged Zuckerberg to a cage fight - though plans fell through  when Musk complained of an injury.

Zuckerberg responded by blasting that 'Elon isn't serious' about any fight.

The pair also traded barbs when Meta launched Threads in an attempt to rival X.

Father-of-three Zuckerberg has been married to Priscilla Chan since 2012, the pair having met at Harvard University nine years earlier.

In February this year he  posted videos of himself on Instagram creating a Kitana sword with the help of Japanese sword master Akihira Kokaji.

Zuckerberg had been in Japan to celebrate his wife's 39th birthday and also meet the Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida to discuss artificial intelligence.

As well as sword making, Zuckerberg's hobbies include caring for a herd of cows which drink beer and eat macadamia nuts on his $100m luxury estate in Hawaii.

His other assets include a Gulfstream G650 private jet, while his firm Meta Platforms spent $1.6million (£1.3million) on air travel in 2021 and another $6.6million (£5.2million) the following year.

Mark zuckerberg salary: how much does the facebook ceo earn, mark zuckerberg's earning as facebook ceo.

Overseeing the Facebook empire might be one of the toughest jobs there is at the moment as the social media platform struggles to fight against fake news, political interference and data privacy concerns.

You would think that such a difficult job is made bearable by a rewarding wage. However, that isn’t the case for the Facebook CEO.

As revealed by Facebook’s annual proxy statement submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Zuckerberg currently earns a base salary of just $1, making him Facebook’s lowest paid employee.

“No executive officer participated directly in the final deliberations or determinations regarding his or her compensation package or was present during such determinations, except for our CEO who has requested that his base salary be fixed at $1 per year,” the latest statement, submitted in 2018, reads.

This has been the case since 2013, when Zuckerberg first requested for his $500,000 base salary to be dropped.

While he has in previous years, Zuckerberg also chose not to participate in the company’s bonus or equity schemes in 2017.

How does Zuckerberg’s salary compare to other tech leaders?

Zuckerberg is part of a growing club of tech CEOs that earn less than the cost of a bus ride for a year’s work. The $1 sum is due to the fact that full-time employees must be paid some sort of wage.

The practice has been ongoing since the early 1900s, but has become increasingly common in recent years, with the likes of Michael Bloomberg, founder of the financial data company by the same name, and Donald Trump having rejected anything more than $1.

As tech stocks rocketed, so too did the practice in the industry.

Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have been paid $1 since the company went public in 2004, while Zuckerberg’s social media rival Jack Dorsey refuses to earn above $1.40 despite his fortune being considerably smaller than the Facebook founder’s.

Other notable $1 tech CEOs include Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman, Hewlett Packard CEO Meg Whitman and Oracle chief technology officer Larry Ellison.

Mark Zuckerberg net worth: A growing fortune

While Zuckerberg may be paid pocket change for his continued role with the social media company, he continues to add billions of dollars to his wealth each year.

According to Forbes’ annual The World’s Billionaires list, Zuckerberg is currently the world’s 8 th richest person, having amassed a fortune worth $62.3bn. This puts him just behind Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, and a few places ahead of Google co-founder Larry Page – a fellow member of the $1 CEO club.

Over the past decade, the Facebook founder’s worth has grown by $58.3bn. That equates to approximately earnings of $5.83bn annually. However, that varies greatly each year – 2017, for example, saw Zuckerberg grow his wealth by $15bn. That was followed by $8.7bn in losses in 2018 as the company faced an onslaught of problems, from the Cambridge Analytica scandal to a data breach that compromised 50 million of its users.

So how does Mark Zuckerberg make money?

Shares. The Facebook founder still owns around 28% of the company’s publicly traded Class A shares. As the Facebook share price increases, so too does Zuckerberg's wealth.

According to the company’s latest proxy statement, Zuckerberg holds 8.75m Class A shares, and each share is currently worth $178 according to Google Finance. That’s $1,555,925,000, or $1.55bn.

However, the real value is in Zuckerberg’s Class B shares.

Facebook operates with a dual share structure. Class A shares are publicly traded, while Class B shares are retained by Zuckerberg and his fellow Facebook executives. These shares are worth 10 votes, compared to just one vote for Class A shares. So while Zuckerberg’s stake in Facebook may stand at 28%, his voting power is far, far higher. According to the latest statement, Zuckerberg currently holds 59.9% of total voting power within the organisation.

“The dollar salary really for them is meant to signify that they have large stakes in their company. The value they’re going to receive – the compensation they’ll earn – is coming solely from their stock,” Aaron Boyd, director of governance for Equilar, previously told Forbes.
