CRN Launches 142' Bespoke Yacht M/Y CIAO

The CRN 142, a bespoke yacht to be delivered as M/Y CIAO, was launched May 21, 2022 at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy. This new work of art in true CRN style entered the water for the first time in an exciting private ceremony attended by the owner, the senior management, and the employees with their families. Made entirely of aluminium, M/Y CIAO was designed and built by CRN in close collaboration with architecture and design studio Omega Architects, who conceived the external lines, and architects Massari Design, who created the outdoor guest areas and interiors. Measuring in at 52 meters in length, 9 meters in the beam and with a gross tonnage of 499, this new true custom yacht spans 4 decks. She accommodates up to 10 guests in the comfort of the main-deck owner suite and the 4 VIP cabins below. CRN M/Y CIAO is a tailor-made creation with a strong artisanal stamp. Her distinctive taut, svelte exterior lines and near-vertical bow exude a decidedly sporty, dynamic personality. The expanse of full-height tinted glazing on the main and upper decks blends into a visual continuum, offering uninterrupted sea views in the utmost on-board privacy. Even the wheelhouse has 3 generous windows that set off the external lines in an unbroken spatial and visual whole. The yacht reflects the vision of a knowledgeable owner who specifically wanted comfortable spaces in the open air, setting great store by the design of the social zones. The result is a pleasure vessel with a sublime harmony and a strong connection among the large, luminous indoor and outdoor spaces, for a perceptual and functional unity between inside and out. A wealth of features will enable the owner and guests to enjoy a peerless shared cruising experience. The sizeable al fresco dining area on the upper deck, the comfortable, versatile lounge areas with sun zone and spa pool on the sun deck and main deck, and the bright, roomy saloons on the main and upper decks are all smoothly designed with conviviality in mind. Wittingly named the CIAO (Italian for "hello" or "goodbye"), the CRN 142 yacht is a masterpiece of contemporary design and elegance from Ferretti group-owned CRN yachts. Designed in close collaboration with Omega Architects, the all-aluminum build boasts a design so good that it won itself an accolade, as evidenced by the CRN 142's triumph as the "Best in Motor <500 GT (above 24m)" category at the 2023 ISS Design and Leadership Awards.

At 52 meters in length and 9 meters in beam, the CIAO comes with svelte exterior lines and a near-vertical bow, all of which give it a sporty and dynamic personality you might struggle to find elsewhere. Add to these the clever use of space, a stupendous interior by Massari Design, and full-height glazing across all her four decks, and you have a very impressive boat.

Aft Platform

Albeit not the biggest in size, the CIAO's functional aft platform sets the mood for what's to come, with a pair of relaxing sunbeds, a hydraulic step into the water, and a teak-laid floor. The teak-laid flooring, consistent throughout the boat, ascends to the cockpit via pathways flanking the transom door.

The main deck's aft cockpit is designed as a prime spot for outdoor relaxation, featuring a sizable swimming pool-sized jacuzzi, a pair of three-seater sofas, another pair of coffee chairs, and a well-equipped wet bar.

Embodying the yacht's award-winning theme of seamless continuity, elegant sliding glass doors transition you from the cockpit into a well-appointed saloon. Contemporary in style, the space features an L-shaped sofa right in the center, an exquisite dining table for ten, and a large Flat-screen TV in the forward area.

A stroll forward leads to the master stateroom or owner's cabin. Impressively large, the cabin features an array of seating options, a spacious bed facing a large flat-screen TV, dual ensuites connected by a central shower, and an impressive walk-in closet. The external bow area of the main deck houses the boat's tenders.

Ascending to the upper deck, you find a cozy seating area and dining space sheltered under a beautiful overhang. More interesting, though, is that the deck also houses a unique cinema-style room, complete with a big screen and a comfortable seating area, perfect for entertainment. Centrally located on this deck is the crew area, with convenient access to the yacht's kitchen and pantry.

Walking further forward through the doors, you'll find the boat's high-tech helm station equipped with six monitors, an army of navigation equipment, and a pair of leather seats. In the external bow section, the CIAO uniquely accommodates pair of jet skis, presenting a layout that sets it apart from the conventional design of most yachts.

Aft, the expansive sundeck boasts a quartet of sunbeds, each designed for ultimate relaxation. Up ahead, a dining area accommodates ten guests adjacent to a serving station with a fully equipped wet bar. Strategically positioned at the front of the sundeck is a jacuzzi, perfectly placed to maximize the views.

Heading all the way down to the lower deck, you're greeted by four beautifully appointed guest cabins, elegantly furnished and equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment systems and thoughtfully glazed to allow an abundance of natural light.

Launched in May 2022, the award-winning CRN 142 sort of does everything, offering a unique and wonderful design, luxurious appointments, and impressive performance.

MEGAYACHT CRN M/Y 142

THE CRN M/Y 142 BESPOKE MEGAYACHT IS TAKING SHAPE

After positioning, construction is under way on the new 52-metre vessel.

MEGAYACHT CRN M/Y 142 – CRN, the historic shipyard and Ferretti Group brand, is building the fully custom CRN M/Y 142 yacht. This all-aluminium megayacht was designed by the CRN Technical Office in partnership with Omega Architects, for the concept and exterior lines, and Massari Design for the interiors. The two studios’ creative spark combined with CRN’s passion and deep expertise is bringing to life a unique work, a blend of bespoke quality and elegant simplicity.

CRN M/Y 142 is the fruit of state-of-the-art research & development, which informs the design of even the subtlest construction detail. The CRN engineers have set great store by fuel efficiency, optimising the hull and appendages to reduce drag. Weight reduction has been a priority, using special light materials and an aluminium hull and superstructure. The hull was positioned in early March, and construction is progressing at the Ancona yard. After the structural work and pre-fitting is completed throughout, the interior carpentry will begin, the engines will be installed, and preparations for the exterior painting will be made. The new yacht’s distinctive taut, harmonious, extremely elegant lines are beginning to emerge. At 52 metres long and 9 metres in the beam, with a streamlined low profile and near-vertical bow, she exudes a vibrant sporty personality. The overall design creates a striking interplay between the majestic external areas and the palatial interiors. This exquisite equilibrium lends visual continuity to the indoor/outdoor experience. Large fullheight windows add to the strong sense of space, in intimate touch with the sea. The 4-deck layout features 1 owner suite and 4 VIP cabins for up to 10 guests. CRN is currently building another 3 bespoke yachts: the 62-metre CRN M/Y 138, the 72-metre CRN M/Y 139, and the 60-metre CRN M/Y 141.

CRN has released images of the interior of Hull 142, a 171-foot bespoke yacht with an interior volume of 499 gross tons. The Italian custom superyacht builder will reveal the boat’s official name when it launches this spring. It’s currently in the final stages of construction at CRN’s Ancona yard.

The yacht’s exterior shape was designed by Omega Architects, which gave it a sleek, sporty look. Massari Design did the interior and exterior spaces to create a sense of flow and connectivity between inside and out. The five-stateroom yacht is designed for 10 guests across four decks.

The company said that the owner wanted “social zones” across the yacht, both inside and out. The Massari interiors are simple and homey, employing warm colors that combine with marble, leather and solid woods. The designers also used floor-to-ceiling windows to enhance natural light as often as they could in different rooms.

The widespread use of glass is the main-deck salon’s main feature, which includes a large social area and dining table. Mirrored surfaces also enhance the light across the large space. The connected outdoor lounge includes a rectangular spa. On the same deck, forward, is the owner’s suite with a private study. It also has a very simple style, with plenty of glass.

The owner also wanted some of the spaces to do double-duty, including the lounge on the upper deck, designed as a social area or cinema with a giant screen. It opens to the exterior deck so that whole area becomes an al-fresco dining zone. The side area has glass paneling in the superstructure to prevent gusts of wind, so it can be opened up, without being unruly.

The top sundeck is another multipurpose area for sunbathing, enjoying drinks at the horseshoe-shaped bar, with another dining area. The boat also has a solarium and hydro-massage pool on the bow.

The beach club also integrates interior and exterior, with access to the water but also a television and bar inside that connects to the yacht’s wellness area, which has a hammam and shower.
